The last time PH was the host, they ranked 1. It's really a big impact on every country as a host since it will boost the player's morale. Although on the following SEAG event, the PH rally isn't impressive. So hopefully, with the big preparation they did this year, they could snatch again the Top 1.

Thailand as always is very consistent in finishing a good rally in the past SEAG. Since 1993, they always end up at either Top 1 and 2. Will not speculate for now who will have the most gold medal on this event.

In this year's SEAG, they will also feature the ESPORTS. This is the first time I think in a medal event competition.

Too bad the medal in the Basketball game will count only as one even when they have many players. Last 2017, Philippines is #6 only with 121 medals. Top 3 is Malaysia (323), Thailand (246) and Vietnam (168). Malaysia was the host of 2017 SEA games so I guess being the host gives the advantage to the players since its home court. Lets see if this will happen to Philippines as well.

Nice introduction of E-sports. But as we know, Singapore always tops this event. Since this is the debut of E-sports in a competition like that, expect that top players from each country will participate even the pot money compare to international competition is not that high. This is a big event so i think sportsbook would put a line to some games like basketball but for sure the odds will not be good when Philippine Basketball team will be playing as they are the power house in the SEA games.

The Philippine contingent is expected to gather more medals this time as we are the host and of course we are fielding many athletes perhaps we have representatives in every games played. When SEA games is hosted by other countries, we only send few athletes due to budget constraint thus few medals will be brought home also.

Well yea, compared to the rest of these countries, PH is seen as one of the teams at the top. But honestly, concentration on sports of Vball and Bball is kind of the weak point of the country. They don't really invest on other sports, letting most talents dwindle down or not letting them shine in the best stage they could possibly go for.

I just bloody hope this removes the negative connotations about Esports. It's like they refuse to believe that you can actually treat it as something not disgraceful, as a way of life, just like how players treat their sports as a way of life. Not bad, though its only counted as one medal, Philippines is a country that focus on Basketball. Many Filipinos, have watching and have full support so I guess this will be a home court advantage for all participants in this coming South East Asian Games.

It's always been a battle between Malaysia Thailand Indonesia, these three are the powerhouse in this region, but the Philippines always had a good record of medal accumulation every time the game is being held there, my bet is Thailand because overall they have the most number of medals in all the SEA combines.

I used to follow SEAGs before, but lately I am losing some interest on it. Philippines is left behind. Also, there's a lot of politicking in this event. SEAG used to be an Indonesia-Thailand-Philippines rivalry when it comes to medal tally. Now, tiny Singapore with only 5 million population and Malaysia with 31 million are competing in the 3rd and 4th after Indonesia and Thailand.

One of the games I am still interested in SEAG is probably soccer. The intensity is real. Malaysia-Myanmar-Singapore-Indonesia-Vietnam can really become competitive and tough.

those Highlighted countries will surely dominate the SEAGames(South East Asian Games) again since these countries are the most dominant and holding the most medals for long years.
but what i am looking now is the Philippines will make a good fight since this is territorial game and the advantage is always there,so maybe the amount of medals this year will grow compared to the previous events.

I will bet for my country to be honest because I believe of the athletes preparation this time is more tedious than before I suppose and the government fully support every athletes I think that isn't far from possibility. I bet as well for Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand to bring most of medals but for basketball I am for sure we will dominate with it.

Talking about sports in Southeast Asia, Philippines has the highest chance to bring more medals. Of course I would expect them to be since they are the first country to have sports program in Southeast Asia. On the other hand, Vietnam, Indonesia and Malaysia are getting to get to the grove in sports so I would say it would be tough for the Philippines to remain on top of the SEA countries.

Real talk here, how can the Philippine athletes perform better if the government instead of cheering for them, the anti-admin is throwing mud to the admin because of corruption in building the stadium. Just check the local news in the Philippines and see whats the story about SEA games and you will find over priced stadium being investigated and over priced contract handed to a Malaysian firm. Very little mention about the athletes.

I am still hoping for Philippines to make it at least on the top 3 if they cant make it to number 1. Philippines will be represented with 1,868 athletes.
