Might add this picture as well.... this is the legendary boxer Manny Pacquiao who is holding the torch to lighten up the cauldron. When I am watching this scene, it is very goosebumps because I didn't expect that pacman is there going to the cauldron. It makes me really proud for being a Filipino because of what I saw on today's 30th South East Asian Games.

I was already expecting Manny to light the torch. It was in the news weeks back that he would be the one doing it. Congratulations on a successful opening ceremony. With all the showcase in the ceremony, I am proud to be a Filipino.

Are the events will be streamed? I could not go to the venues because of my busy work schedule but I would love to watch it on live stream, especially basketball events.

since you're a Filipino and probably have access to these channels here is a list of broadcasters(provided to me by lionheart78) that will cover some of the games in Sea games 2019
Pwde mo rin tingnan dito sa official site nila ang mga possible na magtelevise ng laro.  https://2019seagames.com/, andyan kasi ang list of partners nila.

The general trend with this gaming event is that the host gets #1. I think it's with them not having to suffer the stress of travelling (no jetlag though since each country is just less than 4 hrs flight from each other). The venues are also spread out so it's hard for tourists to travel to support all their teams so less cheers for guests.

Then there's the issue with accused sabotage. I was watching the news and Thailand was complaining that the athletes were only given 8 bottles of water daily. Then the whole issue with the pork meals.

If you are going to bet on rankings, you take this in consideration and don't place the host anywhere below #3.

Do you also have a link of youtube channels where the South East Asian Games are broadcast live, as many of us do not have access to these channels living outside Asia.

you can check the youtube channels of the mentioned broadcasters above they also live stream the games on their youtube channels although not all sports will be
live-streamed but you might find the sport you're looking for being live-streamed. other than that I have no other links or sites that offer live streams on SEA games.

Plus, there are more representatives from the host country. Sometimes, the issue with visiting countries is the budget and they have to cut or limit who they can send.

I don't know about the water but the pork meal issue is fake and those who previously reported it apologized already for the error.

There are plenty of youtube channels broadcasting but the coverage is for a single game only. I can't find a website that covers all.

I'm not sure if it's updated but this is the medal tally:
I know Indonesia won gold for mens water polo and Thailand for womens.

Yes, that's right. The host country has always the advantage because they have lesser cost to bear in terms of transpo alone. So they have all the luxury to send as many participants as they can and so the chance of winning is high. So my guess who will emerge with highest number of gold medals would be the PH. Let's see who would it be come this Dec 11?

Not only that its very easy for their supporters to cheer for their athletes. Just like what they always say there's no place like home, its an advantage of Ph athletes to others who are not accompanied by their family.

Well this might be one the reason why the host country is leading.

I would place the host on No. 1 Position. I would also like to know the odds for the Philippines.
Do let me know the platform where the bet can be placed on the overall ranking ?

I recently watch the latest tally and Philippines are still leading now with 15 gold medals (I forgot if there are additions to the gold and bronze medals Cheesy).

Here's an update, Philippines win over Indonesia in the 3x3 basketball, 21-17. Nice game! Well, I expected this already since Gilas Pilipinas is currently rank 6 in the FIBA World, meaning, they are really a powerhouse team in Asia. Gilas Pilipinas, Puso! Smiley

In the 3x3 basketball, it's obvious that we can bag home the gold. Basketball is where the main focus and I believe they deliver the expected. Now what I want to see is the gilas to do the same in the 5x5 tournament.

Ofcourse for me because Im Filipino so I choose Philippines because also I see in the past few years there is a lot of good Athletes that Philippines have and for sure they will win a lot of medals.  I saw the opening of sea games there is a lot of people there who cheer and very happy just enjoy watching every games there and bless to the player who join the games because that is not easy.  Be proud what country you represented to the sea games and pray for them to not be injured.

The crowd will make all the athletes to be inspired playing with all their best. So far PH is really dominating the medal tally since the home advantage
and the selections of the games we can participate. First day and it's really amazing to all the athletes who are competing they are giving everything
and they already set asides those previous issues, playing to win as one.

Talking about sports in Southeast Asia, Philippines has the highest chance to bring more medals. Of course I would expect them to be since they are the first country to have sports program in Southeast Asia. On the other hand, Vietnam, Indonesia and Malaysia are getting to get to the grove in sports so I would say it would be tough for the Philippines to remain on top of the SEA countries.

Philippines can dominate a lot of country in the SEA games. Most especially it is our home court advantage and our government prepared this event with passion and professionalism. Although many people in our country are putting them down because of crab mentality. I believed that Philippines will win a lot of individual and group sport, those athlete will strive hard just for the Filipinos to be proud.

But respect to those countries who will fight hard just to represent their countries. We salute all of them and we wish them a good luck for a fair and memorable year of South East Asian Games. Go for GOLD.

The Philippines is still in the lead in gold medals with 21 gold and 39 total medals. Vietnam comes second with 8 gold and 29 total medals. It is a good day for the Philippines. Let's see if other countries will catch up tomorrow.

Philippines is dominating as expected after day one.

Where are you guys betting for the 30th sea games? I only see the soccer or football games available on Nitrogen sports and Cloudbet which is understandable since it's the most popular sport. Do you know of anything else?

Look at the latest scoreboard. Philippines is still leading followed by Vietnam. Just an additional info, almost half (10) of the total gold metals they bagged came from dancesports competition Shocked.

Now I suddenly wonder if we are now highly competetive in ESports division. This is recently added on the SEA games and I can't wait which country will dominate (I feel that Indonesia is a strong contender). In Tekken, I'm rooting for AK  (which seems easily dumped by Arslan Ash in TWT if you still remember Sad) and I believe his Shaheen can beat them all.
Now what I want to see is the gilas to do the same in the 5x5 tournament.
I hate being overconfident but I have a strong gut feeling that they can win it too. Well, let's see; to see is to believe.

My bet is in Phippines also! They have already acquired numerous amount of Gold medals in just one day. First Gold medal came from triathlon, the last 2nd and 3rd place Ive seen is from Vietnam and Singapore I think if we will gonna bet on whos country will gonna go on the first spot, we should rather make a bet on what will country will be on 2nd place, it is SG or Vietnam? You choose.

Didnt expect for E-sports to be add up on SEA games?  Shocked I did some search about the games to fight on.

Dota 2
Starcraft II
Hearthstone
Tekken 7
Arena of Valor
Mobile Legends: Bang Bang

This is only the division or set of games i would interestingly to watch on. hehe

At the beginning of the southeast Asia games in the Philippines, many players are entering the field full of fun and excitement. After a few hours from the previous records, the Philippines got already a lot of gold medals; even they had the hone court advantage still the judges are coming from the other country and judged the performance and score without biases. Base on the statistics and records the Philippines is the one who dominates the game.,
