The positive sign caused by the bullish trend that happened with bitcoin. ethereum is very rarely showing its positive sign caused by there is no a big hype around ethereum as the result of ethereum hardfork in the past was not giving the hype and FOMO. The only chance for ethereum to get pumped is to following the bitcoin.
Even $150 looks very difficult to be passed.

Indeed, and it is really a good start for ethereum to start the year 2020. It is very close to $150 and hopefully, it will continue to increase until the bull market comes.

This year 2020 will be the right time for stocking ethereum as there is a big chance that this year is the year of a bull even if there were no upcoming upgrade to ethereum.

Right now ethereum still ranks at number two in coinmarketcap and currently at 144$ which is very affordable with a very low risk compare to other currencies that ranks lower to ethereum.

Bitcoin just had a bit of a bull run, and from that I think that ETH could follow up in any time now. Its 2.0 should launch around this year now from what I've read recently as from the devs.
Depending on how the feature of 2.0 would have, it might have more increase in price than BTC.

Definitely the price of ethereum would also pump considering the fact it upgrade would improve it proof of stake and I see ethereum like a sleeping giant ready to wake thus buying at the present price is most suitable for a trader while the upcoming of halving of bitcoin would also pump major altcoins especially Eth provided that the aftermath of halving of bitcoin increase it volatility thus ensuring it price to pump accordingly.

Agree with you, after the ICO died, the price of ETH collapsed right there and until now there is no sign of going back up. I have seen a few predictions saying that if this year ETH 2.0 is updated and the price doesn't go up then surely we will see ETH go below $ 100 and it will not be possible to achieve ATH in the future.

Are you sure it will affect the ETH market? this update is only for updating the system from ethereum only. and if there is a development I guess it will not be immediately apparent. it will take time for the market to assess whether the renewal has more value or no difference. if it has better functions there will be an increase in demand and that's when the ETH price increases.

Woow, it seems like you jump to conclusions too soon. I am also an ETH holder, and it seems like all holders will expect the same thing as you. In my opinion, current market conditions are not yet stable to take decisions when entering the ETH. let's monitor the market together and look for information related to the development of ETH this year, so we know when the right time to buy it.
