Interesting... They did this last time we had a crash in the price. It might become a regular occurance whenever the price falls quite a bit. (they did do the black Friday thing last year though, I think).

This has nothing to do with BTC price crash. They did that last Black Friday and they are doing now at this year's Black Friday. There is no "conspiracy" here. They will not give people 30% discount every time BTC crashes. O.o

Is the Nano X worth upgrading from the S?

I have the S atm and hold a load of coins ALL over the place, erc20 tokens etc...

Does it accept mining to it, i was told the S can only handle max 5-7 transactions per day?

Can't find the info on the X??

Has anyone upgraded? Is so, why?

It is the same as with the Nano S. It is not recommended as it can create different issues like failure to synchronize the accounts and long validations and sending procedures.
It is better to keep those mining funds in a software wallet, wait for it to accumulate a bit and than send it altogether to your Ledger wallet.

Can you not just do the password thing trezor recommend?

I used to get mining earnings being paid to my trezor once a day and a solution for slow sync times was to just use a password protected wallet as well as the regular one.

Mycelium still takes a long time to sync but everything else is fast now...

I have ledger S and I see no reason to upgrade.
Unless you are rich and you want to spend that money only to have a more beautiful wallet...

Because the only advantage I see is to  be able to have more installed coins at the same time
 Which is not a big deal, and definitely is not worth spending coins just to have more apps installed (which can be installed/uninstalled almost instantaneously)


However, if you have only many erc20 and btc and one more blockchain, you can have all installed at once.

I don't own a Trezor so I really wouldn't know. The user was asking about the Ledger Nano X and having his mining rewards paid to it.
I am noticing that the post I replied to is a bit off-topic as the user is asking about Ledger devices in a thread meant to discuss the Black Friday offers by Trezor.

I mean you can do a lot in wallets like electrum with the trezor so you should be able to do the same with the ledger (like setup passwords and I think you can use different address types). If a large amount of mining payments are being paid and they can't afford to risk any it might be better to pay to nested segwit or a password protected wallet (assuming native segwit is normally used).

Why do you ask these questions in thread which is related to Trezor hardware wallets? Is it so hard to find this : Ledger Black Friday - 30% discount (25 November - 2 December).

Advantages of Nano X is that you can use up to 100 apps at the same time, and it has Bluetooth so it is possible to connect wirelessly with your phone via Ledger Live.

Hardware wallets have problems with mining when it comes to a lot of dust transaction, but I think this is not related only to HW. I also doubt Nano X solves this problem. I think 5-7 transactions per day is not any problem, but you may get a problem when try to spend coins from those transactions (receiving them for a long time).
