This is something that I have regretted for a very long time, which is not knowing or ignoring Bitcoin back then. I was too focused on my virtual assistant career last 2011, until I was first introduced to Bitcoin in 2014.

That was the time I created my Bitcointalk account and Coins PH Bitcoin wallet. After that, I fully ignored Bitcoin and went on with my virtual assistant and network marketing career. However, I was struggling to keep up with my finances back then.

I finally getting serious in earning Bitcoin in mid-2017, and started investing in ICOs. Although some of them have made me profits, but most of them give me losses of investment.

I know how it really feels not knowing or ignoring Bitcoin years ago. If I did, I could be one of the Bitcoin whales right now. Same thing when Ethereum came out.

I guess it's pretty obvious by now, specially in 2017 that putting money in bitcoin is a good investment, specially if you're a long term investor. But there are people around still not sold on it because of the volatility, because we all know for a fact that it is very unstable. And for those who have been in this game, I guess they've got the reward for staying in bitcoin market regardless of attacks, negativity and lots of ups and down. And now that the bitcoin halving is coming, I'm sure we should be smart today so that we can ride with it when we go and hit another bull run in the future.

Hindsight is 20/20. I'm pretty sure a lot of holders from those years also didn't expect this level of exponential growth that bitcoin had throughout the years. All you can do right now is learn from your lesson, and act accordingly.

I know how it really feels not knowing or ignoring Bitcoin years ago. If I did, I could be one of the Bitcoin whales right now. Same thing when Ethereum came out.
If you did, there's also might be a good chance that you would've sold when bitcoin doubled or tripled or when it was one of it's hype/bubble cycles in the past.

Same here. The first time I encountered Bitcoin, I didn't pay much attention. Even in the proceeding encounters I remained doubtful of its legitimacy, until I personally encountered people who are actually involved in it themselves. They've said a lot of things that somehow piqued my curiosity. Only then did I take a more open, deeper, and focused approach to the new technology. I began doing research on it.

There were so many opportunities lost and wasted in the past. I have accepted all of them and moved on but I learned lessons from those. This is primarily the reason why I am a tight HODLer of BTC and I am not anymore easily swayed by whatever FUD or dip that occurs, however serious they may be. I've done much observation and I think there is really no other way for Bitcoin and crypto but up.

of course the holder of bitcoin since 2011 is a rich person right now, because I also only knew bitcoin around 2015 and 2016 I just created an account in this forum to find free bitcoin from service work, I don't think it's too late to buy bitcoin if the price is keep going down and cheap, replacing the old whales with new ones well all of us who are here, they seem to be quite too old as the whales hold bitcoin right now, just waiting for them to throw it as cheaply as possible

And if you bought bitcoin in Dec 2018, you would have lost 65% of your money.

It's easy to cherry pick dates to try to prove a point.

Hardly anyone bought bitcoin in 2011 because it was a super niche thing at the time. And most of those who bought then sold in the peak of 2013 when it hit $1000, in the excitement of banking in a big gain!

New form of investment are always a good chance for huge profit but they also have large risks. Bitcoin was valueless in 2009 and was cheap in 2011 but even the most of the miners, buyers and holders hadn't imagine bitcoin would be worth thousands of dollars one day. Bitcoin now has proved that's its not just another bubble and is here to stay.

You said my mind. Only few would patient enough to hold for a long time.
Many who did not understand the potential of Bitcoin ignored it or thought it won't go very far. Bet there are few new projects with potential to be like Bitcoin but many people ignore the projects too, without understanding their potentials. But when the projects become valuable or successful, we regret not investing.

Precisely. People could also say the same not only with bitcoin, but also with stocks like Amazon stocks when it was on it's IPO. In the end, it almost always comes down to people not thinking that it would work out THAT well in the end, hence they didn't invest.

..Assuming you wouldn't sell if the price reached a certain pricepoint that's somewhere below $1000. It's easy to say right now that you'd be a whale if you bought back then, but remember that there aren't that much people that's bullish with bitcoin back then. You'd most probably be more skeptical then than now whereas the community of holders is significantly bigger.

With Bitcoin, I don't think it's ever too late to invest. Especially now, when the market is so down. You should not regret what happened in the past. Some have not heard of Bitcoin, some heard but did not really believe (this happened to my parents in 2012 or so), some heard and had a gut, but did not have money to spare on investments (I bought 1 Ethereum and 1 Litecoin when they cost less than $20 each. I knew they were going to rise, but I did not have more money to spend on investments, and one should only invest what one can afford to lose, so that's what I did), some already wasted that money in one way or another (a friend that told my parents to buy Bitcoin in 2012). Bitcoin still has plenty of room to grow, and all of us are still early adopters.

Step 1: Find Time Machine and go back to 2011 or 2012
Step 2: Buy $10000 worth of BTC at $100 each = 100 BTC
Step 3: Join ETH ICO in 2014. 1 BTC = 2000 ETH. Get 200k ETH
Step 4. Sell all your ETH in January 2018 at $1000 = $200 million

In the next 10 years it will grow even more.
As expected it will! But we should have to face this current situation of the market because i know lots of traders were losing a lot back then when this kind of trends hits them unexpected. Perhaps we might see more than that 250,000% growth back then.

I am glad somebody did that research and posted it here for info of all community members. Those who are criticizing about downfall of BTC must read this analysis. BTC is more volatile then S&P, those who can bear the BTC volatility can earn huge profits. See this year example BTC had a wild swing from 3500 USD to 11000 USD and people still say BTC is bearish this year.

It's pretty obvious that it has become like that due to it being an open market plus the fact that a lot of people basically capitalized on its volatility and susceptibility to pumps and dumps. Not that I'm implying that bitcoin is only good at that, but compared to the strict regulations and watchful eyes on traditional markets, wash trading and other sorts of what is deemed 'illegal' on trading practices are being done widely on bitcoin. I would have started buying bitcoin in 2014 on large quantities had I known that it will continue to prosper, but I was too naive and doubtful back then.

We all regretted not investing Bitcoin in its early stage. We really can't avoid it since the media portrays Bitcoin as an asset used in dark web which would make impression to us that it is used in illegal activities. At least that's what I thought to Bitcoin back then until it is becoming famous around 2017. At least we are all here now. There's still a lot of opportunities for us.

So what differentiates them both is S&P 500 is composed of 500 stocks that are quite steadily growing. If one stocks were to moon, the others will average it were in Unlike Bitcoin were it is an individual investment. Bitcoin is also supported by altcoins.

It is all about timing.  Roll Eyes  If you bought bitcoin for the first time in 2017, you would now show a loss of more than 250% on that investment. I am one of those lucky people who bought bitcoin when the price was around $300. Unfortunately I never thought it would go to $18 000 in the future, so I did not buy a lot.  Sad

I decided to never make that mistake again and earlier this year when the Bitcoin price dropped to around $3000, I bought enough to make a good profit, if the price goes to $18 000 again.
