Happy Thanksgiving!

I just want to wish everyone on the forum a happy and hardy Thanksgiving holiday. 

For those of you who are unaware of this national holiday, Thanksgiving is one of the most cherished holidays in North America, celebrated in Canada and the United States, among other territories and countries.  Being a secular holiday, in recent decades it's made it's way across the world as a tradition for many families, especially for families with members living (or having previously lived) in the US.  It is focused on a traditional meal, shared with family and friends, which transcends nationality, culture, and politics.

Every family seems to make Thanksgiving their own, by including into their tradition a dish that stems from their ethnic background or special recipe for something typical.  Our family Thanksgiving traditions include fresh falafel, kibbeh, and a barbecued turkey.

What are your Thanksgiving traditions?

We are gathered in my parents home. From the brother, sister, nephew, our neighbour, sometimes we invite our friend to join in our home to enjoy the time. Thanksgiving was the moment we can feel happy, and we can meet each other because we are not lived in the same city. I cannot describe what the food because there are too many foods available in the diner table. That moment was a very special moment for every people who celebrate it. We can feel peace, happy, enjoy, joyful, and blessed.

While we don't officially celebrate Thanksgiving like the rest, our version is more like meeting up (as a family) and having some fine dinner outside.

It kind of reminds me of my mom preparing for family gatherings.  Steak, chicken, fish, lamb kebabs, you name it.

What are your Thanksgiving traditions?

In my country we don't celebrate the Thanksgiving holiday.
The only thing I know about this holiday I Black Friday and the fights that people give in Walmart Shops. Maybe kicks and punches are translated as "Thanks" so when they give kicks and punches during Black Friday is the "Thanksgiving" tradition.

In my country on thanksgiving day is called HappyThought day and we dnt cheer with a turkey like in america but we eat pork and families get together to celebrate.

Happy Thanksgiving OP, I have to admit that I much prefer this holiday to Christmas. It just feels like adult time which is better for me than Christmas which is centered around kids.
