It looks like the French are going big with Bitcoin now, we also saw some news lately where 24,000 licensed tobacco shops are going to accept

bitcoin now and also provide services where people can buy bitcoins. https://news.bitcoin.com/5200-tobacco-shops-in-france-now-sell-bitcoin/

Let's hope this will help to trigger mainstream adoption in France, because we need more Bitcoin tourist destinations for people to spend their

bitcoins.   Wink

Bitcoin and crypto are going to be in the economics books of future. This forum itself would be a great topic in the history books and we all would be called the pioneering community of cryptocurrency.
No guarantee about the ultimate future but crypto are going to make a huge impact on finance worldwide in the 2nd and 3rd quarter of this century.

i wouldn't wonder if those students are also going to be found here replying to threads in the forums one day. these kids are lucky to have someone will teach them. this will help them decide to go into deeper into blockchain and find careers in this industry to be what is very much needed in the future.  probably solidarity programming or C++. blockchain industry can offer a whole lot different jobs  for the new generations.

but where did this worldpublicityblog.com got the information, i find no source of it.

If bitcoin and cryptocurrency will play a big role in our economy in the future, it is a good step for them that they started adding it to their curriculum. I think it is good to start learning about cryptocurrency and blockchain technology at a very young age because there are a lot of opportunities in crypto.

I think it is good to start learning about cryptocurrency and blockchain technology at a very young age because there are a lot of opportunities in crypto.
Indeed, it will open their minds about cryptocurrency at an early age which can have a huge impact on their future because they have finally an idea about how a digital currency works and it's specific purpose. It's a great way to help them understand that the world isn't only focusing on fiat because there is a digital currency that existed, it can make them realize that there is a bright future ahead of them because of the capabilities and potentialities of cryptocurrency. It can be beneficial to them and to their country, good to see that they are finally adopting cryptocurrency.

I just recently saw that they're now showing crypto ads in national tv. And now, they're going to add crypto and bitcoin in their curriculum. I don't know why but I kind of envy it since what I want to see in my country is now becoming a reality in France. It's a really good idea to add crypto and/or blockchain in education. The youth need to learn about it. Because blockchain and cryptocurrency can be a big thing in the future. How can they utilize this awesome development if the governments are afraid to teach it to students?

I just heard about cryptocurrency technology in public spaces, usually only on sites that provide learning about cryptocurrency technology. I hope this can help better development crypto

By means of "covers", means that it would just introduce them the word and its background. No digging up deeply to its framework and advocacy. I think what the government wants to do is just to educate younger minds about the "possible" currency of the future, rhe cryptocurrencies. It's to make them informed that such things exists and not only a thing of selected communities and isn't only for illegal activities, which is a good move for the start of cryptocurrency adoption.

It appears that many countries and many universities have acknowledged the potential and the power of not just crypto in terms of financial, but what it brought with it from the blockchain technology that is being studied all over the world today and people are already using it and creating projects and utilizing it for improving all aspects of our lives and i think teaching from early stages is a step toward the inevitable progress and i think that it should be teached all across the world.

It was about time. If you want to properly prepare young people for the future you also need to teach them about new technologies and Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies belong to that.
More and more countries are aware that cryptocurrencies have become a part of our societies and that citizens need to be educated about them for their own good.

Bitcoin and Crypto is a big technology and it's money of future. anyone learn about it now and accept/adopt it now will be in benefit. others will regret for not understanding this and missing the opportunity.

This is 3-week old news, it seems that good news doesn’t travel that fast, but in any case, it is very good news, especially for the French. Education is the foundation of everything, and if children learn at least some of the basics it will certainly help them to see things in the right light.

However, it is interesting what issues education will be based on :

  • “Is Bitcoin the currency of the future?”
  • “Can Bitcoin replace the Euro?”
  • “Do you have trust in your currency?”

It would be very interesting to see what will be the results after schooling, and what the effects of such teaching will be. I just hope they will have good teachers because this is a specific field, these teachers also need special education.

It was last year when Bitcoin was included in an exam question for Dutch students graduating from middle high school (it explained the halving concept actually to demonstrate scarcity and asked students to calculate circulation supply at a certain date). That generated SOME discussion I recall in local forums.

Not sure how the French will approach it. Probably from a freedom/democracy angle. Hopefull, even!

Resources and educational activities
Pedagogical activity 1: The differentiation of the functions of money
Purpose: to make students able to differentiate the functions of money.
Resources and proposed activities:
• Propose a number of concrete information expressed in typical currency units
(price of goods or assets, transactions in goods, financial transactions, detention
assets ...)
• Classify these examples by function, justifying the choices.
Educational activity 2: Money and trust, the example of a cryptocurrency
Purpose: from the example of Bitcoin to make students reflect on the properties of the
change.
Resources and proposed activities:
• Offer students three videos from the euro video challenge 2017 website: (www.ecb.
europa.eu): "Bitcoin can replace the euro? "Is Bitcoin the currency of the future?
[English] "" Do you have to trust your currency? "
As well as a video from the site Draw me the eco: "Bitcoin is it a currency like
 others ? "(Drawingemoileco.com/bitcoin-il-currency-the-other/)
• Have students list the functions of the currency discussed and show how
apply them to Bitcoin;
• Dissociate euro and Bitcoin, from the point of view of trust

Perhaps our local French community can give it a good translation so that every one can understand it instead of getting the source from unknown blog that the OP has posted.

Its indeed a good news from French government that they are introducing Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies in their high school syllabus. There are many good news coming about Bitcoin and blockchain from around the world. I think we should give it enough time to develop. Slow growth in blockchain technology will last longer. Transactions through blockchain is cheap and fast as compared to conventional method, it is not controlled by any centralize agency. There are many benefits of blockchain technology it only requires some refining.

blockchain and bitcoin should be appropriate as an educational module for the curriculum considering the next few years
Not a requirement, but only a kind of a subject would help to those who want to pursue and learn such topic and its history.

IT course will probably include this module as part of the requirement in the years to come because the systems that will run today will probably be running blockchain already thus they have to have idea what is happening behind the devices. Students today has to learn the technology after all BTC is the future. Its hard to teach the new technology to the old men, they are not open and considers BTC and crypto to be scam since this is what they heard on TVs news.
I've seen another thread dedicated to the topic, and from what I remember this module should be a part of curriculum in Economics. So they'll explore the topic not from the technological standpoint but from a financial one for now. I think it's fair since Bitcoin is something that can be considered a step forward in our understanding of a medium of exchange, and this is a topic for Economics. As for IT, perhaps one day kids will study blockchain like that, although I am not sure if it's a topic for a school curriculum. Maybe it's more appropriate for university students.

This is a great opportunity for those still in high school as they can learn crypto at a young age.  So far today, here in our country they are also planning to add crypto as one of the subject in school in college, but it's still on process and in debate, no info yet if they will push this. Hope they will as this is a great opportunity.
