What other uses does Blockchain have aside from Cryptocurrency?

Considering that cryptocurrency runs on the rather new blockchain technology and that seems to be getting all the craze nowadays as more and more new cryptocurrencies appear and the established ones get more value as time goes on. I’m rather curious, what other applications does blockchain technology have aside for cryptocurrencies
   
I keep on hearing people say that blockchain technology will change the world, is that really true and to what extent would it change the world?
   
With rather limited knowledge of blockchain that I have heard that blockchain technology can be used for transferring data more efficiently than our current methods of transferring data and that it can keep people’s identities a secret - probably who a lot of shady people use it in order to do shady things especially in the dark web and all the other dark places on the internet.
 
Are there any other uses of Blockchain technology for other fields of technology, I’m really curious to know more because, I, myself am not very knowledgable about this subject. Thanks for your input.

actually that is not "advantage"! it is disadvantage. blockchain is slow, costly and inefficient and that is why it is not used in any other areas specially the ones you named! it has been more than 10 years that bitcoin has been around and the technology was introduced even before that and as you can see it is not used anywhere else.
don't confuse hundreds of scammy ICOs saying they are using it in these areas because they don't. it is just a lie.

Time-stamping I think could be an interesting use-case. If we could somehow achieve the same level of trustlessness with a solution that wouldn't have to put entire documents on-chain then we'd have an ideal solution.

This concept is useful for proving the existence of digital assets at a certain time. For example, Alice gets the digital signature of a document she created and puts it on the bitcoin blockchain within a transaction. As soon as this transaction is in a block, Alice can prove to the world that the document she had existed from that point in time and on. The Blockchain has many uses, cryptocurrency is just one of them. The Blockchain is the real genius behind Satoshi Nakamoto, Bitcoin was just the particular icing on the cake.

There's surprising a lot from what I've been looking at in the last couple of weeks, I'll list 3 of the most interesting/useful cases.

I'd love to hear from anyone who can give us details on this particular implementation of blockchain towards the mentioned platforms, which was basically needed in our physical world. If this system will work aside from cryptocurrency financial upbringing, we won't fear losing our personal data and other important details that belongs to our identity.
Hopefully in 5 to 10 years from now, there's a possible adoption that further takes place and we will see what's the effect of it in our daily lives.

One example is Coke One North America (CONA), Coca-cola's bottler association, uses blockchain to monitor and manage their supply chains. Blockchain can be used for several things, and as time goes on the world will continue to uncover more things that can be done with the Blockchain.

For now, transaction is the main thing that can be done with the Blockchain. There are other claims as well but I haven't seen any proof of those yet. Things that have been mentioned as being possible to be done with the Blockchain are monitoring supply chains - some people have said it can be used to pinpoint item in real time, I don't really know if that's true whether there are companies that are already implementing that into their business.

Next is Digital voting, and… I believe that this one is possible, but there's no country that's applying this method yet. And I have also read that it can be used for food safety, by tracing food from its origin – the food part confused me when I read it because I don't really know how possible this is or how exactly it's going to be used to trace food.
