Firstly this is not financial advise so do not take my word for it.  Investing in a top cryptocurrency by market capitalization will likely return less during the rally than an undervalued cryptocurrency. The challenge is in finding such projects that during the rally will provide enough use cases,  fundamentals, and marketing to create enough interest to create massive rallies.  I would advise you to take closer look at Chainlink(LINK),  Hydro(Hydro) and Blocknet(Block).  However,  you can always play it safe and invest in BTC,  ETH,  LTC, Monero or Dash. You'll still see at least 3x on any of those.

I will advise you put this in bitcoin, over time, bitcoin has proven to be more stable and always coming back from the dip and at a good value. I have dived into many alts in the past and recently, but bitcoin has no equal.

I thought about investing 5.000 Euro in Ethereum and 5.000 Euro in Iota, or do you find two other coins more reasonable?
Not all of the investment, but 50% should be divided into bitcoin. We can divide the rest according to their risks. 25% to top 10, 20% to top 50, 5% to the riskiest ones. So you do not miss the opportunity, even if you lose in any ones, it will be covered by other coins. Considering that Halving is approaching, we may assume that you lose more each day. The current prices are suitable for purchase, do not miss this opportunity.

Hello,

if i had 10.000 Euro, in which 2 altcoins would you invest longterm (for the next 2-3 years)?

I thought about investing 5.000 Euro in Ethereum and 5.000 Euro in Iota, or do you find two other coins more reasonable?

if i had 10,000 Euro i will only invest a few percentages in ETH and the rest to bitcoin
altcoin risk is so high there is a chance that some altcoin will not survive in the future

IOTA has been no good news for a long time, and prices are still falling without any signs of recovery, so I think that's not a good choice. Instead, I think you should keep your USD and wait for the BTC dumping, then buy and hold for the next years.

If you want to invest in two safe altcoins, which have good future potential, then go for Ethereum and Bitcoin Cash (BCH). Ethereum is the king of altcoins and the next altcoin bull run may take it to new heights. Also the Ether 2.0 roll out is due in a matter of few months. And talking about BCH, talks on integration of that coin with Telegram is going on. If it succeeds, then we can expect the prices to rocket upwards.

If it were me, I would choose ETH like you and another currency, BNB. BNB is the main currency of one of the best exchanges - Binance, so BNB is undoubtedly the favorite coin of many investors. With Binance Coin, investors also receive a discount of trading fees up to 50% as well as participating in IEO.

It's funny how some people are telling the op to invest in Bitcoin lol, who told you that the op doesn't know about Bitcoin? He asked a simple question and you should answer just that and stop posting comments that are out of point. I believe he saw the Bitcoin discussion thread but still headed to this ALTCOIN discussion thread to ask this question. So, there is no need talking about Bitcoin.

@OP, the two altcoins you have mentioned are good already, so you can go ahead with the both of them. Ethereum is a good coin and the second best cryptocurrency there is in the market. A lot of experts have even predicted that Ether will be among the few coins that will have a price increase soon. Iota is a good one also, but do a deep research on it and know what some experts are saying before you go with it. Though I would have recommended Binance Coin (BNB), that coin have been okay this year and I have seen a lot of people going for it this year.

If you want to invest in altcoin and only choose 2 try to invest in XRP and ETH. Because we know that XRP touched the new ATH at 3$ in the beginning of 2018 and maybe that is one of the reasons why i also invested in XRP

If I have 10k euros to invest in the top 10 coin marketcap, then I will choose to invest in Ethereum and BNB Coin. Both of these coins have great liquidity and in my opinion BNB Coin has great potential in the future. With the support of the biggest exchangers at the moment, I think BNB Coin will be able to penetrate the top 5 coinmarketcap

Centralized coins are always a bad idea. BNB depends on a number of things instead of the global crypto markets. It depends on CZ and if he gets arrested or made to flee from a country (like China) expect the price of BNB to tank regardless of what real world use it might have. It also depends on Binance and its growth. If Binance gets banned so will the BNB.

Invest only in independent decentralized projects.

You are not telling us what are your goals, which is really important in order to try to tell which coin could be better for you, for example since the capital that you have is already high enough then I do not see the point of taking huge risks with it, so if I were you I will probably invest everything in ethereum and the binance coin, but if what you're looking for is to obtain huge profits during that time then it becomes harder to give you a suggestion because most new altcoins will probably disappear at that point.

ETH and DOGE Smiley seriously.. the other one is pretty flat with price for the past weeks, it created such a huge support on these levels that it will be almost impossible to lose much. It has meme value, a lot of fomo mooning potential and decent volume/cap.

In the state of the market, it is really hard to make a rational decision. Most people will tell you Bitcoin because they think is the only one that will succeed in the long run.

I believe eventually the market will regulate himself and many coins will be independent of the dominance of BTC. The new trends of stablecoins and DeFi will make this space interesting in 2020.

There is no portfolio in cryptocurrency that has no bitcoin. I assume its 10k Euros not Ten Euros (as OP wrote 10.000). If you have 10k euros you must understand which coins are best for investment rather then coming here and asking people to suggest you. Are you sure they will share your loss?

I find it funny how people recommend others to buy DOGE. I have nothing against that coin, and to some degree I even like it and the community behind it, but from an investment point of view, it's a horrible coin to invest in.

Look at the all time chart provided by Bittrex. All DOGE has ever done is jump up and down within the same satoshi range, and that since the very beginning. It's impossible to consider DOGE a coin worthy of investing in. It makes zero sense.

BSV is not the real Bcash. Bcash is the real Bcash.

I know, right? I mean, the amount of money OP's willing to invest is a lot. And suggesting others to invest their money on DOGE is not a really good advice, to be honest.
Doge is one of the cheapest coin out there, if the price fall down even just a satoshi or more, you could lose more than what you've imagined.

If we're talking for weekly trading, doge could be quite a bit of a good choice, but you have to be very patient as to wait the increase and you need quite the capital so you could see the profit and there are far better choices than doge out there. But whichever it is, it's still your call, your individual choice. You have to choose what's the best for you, and not because someone told you so.

And we're talking for hodling about 2-3 years. No one knows for sure the future of any altcoins. I personally don't dare to recommend which specific alts to invest.
So, maybe stablecoins or major altcoins might be a better choice. Still, it's all yours to make.

my advice is better bitcoin and ethereum. Enough with these two coins, you can get profit. forget to look for other coins that are more profitable, because coins like that never existed. this year is the year for bitcoin and ethereum, so believe what I say because you won't regret it later

why it should in altcoin? if there is a trusted coin so far which is Bitcoin?
In my opinion, you should give more percentage in Bitcoin to your portofolio. Bitcoin is the best one here

I dont expect that altcoin can do better because of this bearish market, unless you do it for short term is okay
