Trump Challenges 'Do Nothing Democrats': 'If You Are Going to Impeach Me, Do it Now, Fast.'

President Donald Trump returned from a shortened trip to the UK-based NATO summit amidst an ongoing Congressional impeachment inquiry threating his administration and issued an interesting challenge to House Democrats leading the proceedings.

In a Thursday morning set of tweets, Trump first dismissed Wednesday's legal scholar hearings as a "historically bad day yesterday in the house" for the "do-nothing Democrats," before declaring that "they have no Impeachment case."

He then challenged House Dems to start proceedings now. "Therefore I say, if you are going to impeach me, do it now, fast, so we can have a fair …. … trial in the Senate, and so that our country can get back to business."

Why would they do it fast when the whole point was to drag this out to try to effect the 2020 elections?

Why would they^^? They might want to do it fast just to get Trump out of the way before he releases info he has on them.

It's really not the info or the release of it. Rather, it's the way he releases the info. He might release it in a format of trials against each one of them individually. And the more time he has to plan, the better chance he has to make it bad for them. But this is just my idea.

It was expected that Democrats were going to impeach Trump along party lines because there is no way in hell they'd spend this long on an impeachment inquiry to not pursue impeachment. This is going to get spicy when it reaches the Senate though. Republicans are going to subpoena Hunter Biden, phone records of Joe Biden, John Bolton, Rudy Giuliani. Bolton and Giuliani are the ones that are going to have first hand accounts of any actions that occurred during meets of US officials and Ukraine leadership. And of course, Democrats refuse to subpoena these individuals. Whatever it takes I guess, considering Dem's can't win a damn election, they need to jump on the impeachment train to win it.

Is it just me or even others are feeling the lack of drama and entertainment in these hearings, because when it first came to light all Democrats threw everything they had to make it look exciting but now I feel they’re loosing the battle. I’m really interested to see what exactly does he plan to clean, but he’s right Democrats should act really quick or drop this inquiry because people are already starting to loose their interest in it.

I do think that as we get closer and closer to the 2020 election, and even the Democratic primaries without an impeachment vote happening this will look like more and more of a sham and makes the voters think that this was done to ensure that Trump doesn't win in 2020.

All you have to do is watch a serious poker game, where serious money is being bet. Players don't always play their hand the way that seems to be the obvious best move. Rather, they bluff, and bluff about their bluffing.

That's exactly what Trump want the voters to think, that his presidency has been targeted by the Democrats even since he was inaugurated, first with the Mueller investigation which ended in nothing and now with this impeachment issue being brought to light. The Democrats have no message for the American people so this is what they believe will help them win.

Well yes, obviously that's what Trump wants. It's his best shot of convincing the voters that the reason behind the lack of more legislative changes (outside of tax cuts) is because of Democrats hitting him with tons of investigations, hindering him. I don't think this is true, I think there were issues with keeping the Republican caucus united, but if the GOP can spin it that way to the voters that can do well on that front.

I think the reason why the president is sounding like this is two

1. He does not want to sound unperturbed about the whole scenerio in other to give the entire of his supporters that they are stronger in the face of adversity and there is no point fighting a battle you know you will lose.

2. He is sure that it would not survive the Senate should he even be found guilty as much as the Democrats are fighting for more evidence to make it difficult for the Senate to just overrule the impeachment.

Examples of big socialistic countries show us that socialism fails. Trump is in favor of the free market, not socialism. The Dems are in favor of socialism. Intelligent people understand all this. That's why there is impeachment failure.
