You probably fucked up somewhere. There is really nothing anyone here can do to help you. If Coinbase itself was hacked, it would be all over the news and you wouldn't be the only one.

Are you sure your device isn't infected? I would do a clean OS reinstall if that was the case.

Coinbase hasn't been hacked - your account has been hacked. Your coins are irretrievable.

Now what.
Go and change the passwords to any accounts using the same password as you use for Coinbase (there should be none since you shouldn't be reusing passwords), and go and change the password to the email account linked with your Coinbase account. I'd also check your computer for any viruses or malware such as keyloggers which may have stolen your password. Then enable 2FA on all your crypto accounts. Once you've done that, you would do well to look in to how to store your coins yourself and stop trusting web wallets or exchanges.

Had Coinbase USD WALLET EMPTIED this week while down loading coins from POLONIEX,

None of this makes any sense what-so-ever.  When you say USD, do you mean you had cash in your Coinbase account?  Cash is kept an account, like a bank account, not a wallet.  The only way to empty your cash from coinbase is to transfer it into your linked bank account, send it to PayPal, or exchange it for crypto.  Which of these happened?  Was it cash or one of the stable coins they offer?

Well, I guess none of that matters anymore.  Like TryNinja and o_e_l_e_o have noted, your login credentials have likely been compromised.  Stop using the same password for multiple sites, and change all your crypto and bank related passwords.

I thought Coinbase was secure. Coinbase says they can't help. Now what.

Coinbase is as secure as any webwallet can be.  Something tells me it's not their security that's the issue, but the lack of your own.

Their USD wallet is operational no maintenance shows in coinbase status.

Take a look at this https://status.coinbase.com/

Maybe you are using a fake Coinbase that is why the USD wallet is empty? Or are you trying to transfer USD from Poloniex to Coinbase if coinbase is not receiving coins or usd from Poloniex it means the problem is from Poloniex not in Coinbase.

Check your transaction history and from there do some self-investigation. There is no way someone can withdraw it easily or something as it needs authorization. Try to think about what you did along the way.

And what do you mean by "while downloading coins from POLONIEX"?

You probably have a keylogger installed.

DO NOT CHANGE PASSWORD BEFORE CLEAN INSTALL COMPUTER

If your computer is still infected with the keylogger your passwords will be sent to the attacker.

1) clean format computer
2) change passwords after you have installed a OS downloaded from the makers, DO NOT download pirated torrents, you will be hacked again.

Many torrents of Windows and games have keyloggers embedded.

Poloniex is moving out of the "Circle management group" or similar, and thus everyone who is a US resident needs to withdraw all their coins, else they'll lose them. That's probably what OP was doing.

But, by using terms such as "downloading" it becomes clear that OP at the very least is not super-experienced with crypto's, or the terminology thereof.

Do this, but if i were you, i'd also factory reset (format) your PC, or at the very least;; do some virus scans if you haven't already.

I haven't used coinbase in a long time, but is't 2FA mandatory there as well?

change all your passwords and try to be more attentive next time... that's all
That won't help if his PC is ratted.

Not all 2FA is created equal. An open source app on an otherwise uncompromised device is a reasonable choice for most people, but many people are still using email addresses or SMS messages as their 2FA. Email isn't 2FA at all since almost everyone uses the same email for the service in question as they do for 2FA, meaning if someone hacks your email, they can reset your password and access your 2FA confirmation messages. Coinbase don't have this as an option (as far as I know), but they do offer SMS. SMS messaging is non-encrypted and can be intercepted, and SIM jacking is trivially easy given how much personal information people splash around on social media without a second thought.

If you really want your 2FA to be secure, then use a physical key. Many hardware wallets support this functionality.

If your USD wallet was emtied - either the dollars were withdrawn to a bank account that is not yours, or used to buy coins which then got transferred. Which is it?

I find it hard to believe the dollars were withdrawn to another bank account. Coinbase is pretty hot on ensuring the IDs on their wallets match the IDs on the linked bank accounts.

Yeah, I can't see that happening. If his account was verified, the attacker would have to have a bank account in the same name, or the attacker would need to complete KYC on his account and give away their personal details (unless they bought someone else's.) Much more likely they simply sold all the USD for bitcoin or another coin and then withdrew it all. If OP goes in to his account history he should be able to see what withdrawals were made.

This is all pretty much irrelevant though - OP hasn't even been back online to read these responses, let alone reply. We should just let this thread die unless he returns looking for more advice.

That kind of wallet is immune in many hacking attempt , owner should know how to protect them from the hackers. I dont think they are the one need to be blame its you and how did you secured your account.
If you have a problem in coinbase you should message the support to what happen , i am not sure if they are able to give back the balance transfer already to another wallet.

Are you sure coinbase wallet is immune to hacks or were you trying to say it isn't immune?

Read OP again, He says he Contacted support. Not sure why you even failed to read and understand the OP that was just one sentence long.

It's outside of Coinbase jurisdiction if the reason of a user's emptied wallet was due to his negligence and that's what we can see here. It's either OP was hacked or he logged in to a fake coinbase / phishing link.

There is no way that Coinbase will return the lost funds if it's his fault.
