What he is trying to point out is that one can go gamble into gambling with sole aim of making money. This thought of money cause the person to lose all because of the tension. But instead, play or gamble with fun having wining in mind, then you win. And at the same time, don't use it as the sole means of earning a living.

Majority of the users who have some basic understanding about gambling tries to make little earning through it. Just because it is considered a way of making money it has gained more popularity. I saw people in this thread who say that the only people who make money on gambling are casinos and their affiliates. This is so wrong!

What about professional poker players? What about those few lucky people who went to play for the first time and won big time? What about people who play in casino tournaments? What about all those dice players who got lucky and doubled their money in a single game?

Gambling shouldn't be a way to make money because it's unreliable but it can be if you're lucky or skilled enough.

Gambling is not a means for you to have fun because to be able to gamble you have to spend money, even though you bet with money that can be spent but still, when you lose everything then you will not feel the real fun. Therefore, basically gambling is a means for you to get money fast. So, gambling is a game of luck, even though you think gambling is only for fun but if you are lucky, then of course you will get a profit and in the end with that profit will certainly make you feel satisfaction and fun in gambling.

Well, you're right about that because at the end, gamblers can lose some money to over betting or doing gambling in general. Even if some of them playing just for fun, they can lose some bucks, but for real, I don't even care a lot if I just play with 5$ or even 10$ sometimes for fun, and sometimes I can be lucky and make a good profit though. It's always up to the gambler to do whatever he wants under different limits.

Depends if they manage their money well or not and can put into play a competitive advantage over others as well as the house.     If people win big and lose big then they got little chance but people who regularly reset their bet or keep to a fixed economy will do ok possibly.    Also knowledge of each game and is odds is required, the odds are always better vs other players so far as I know.

But most people do fall into the verge of addiction due to that opposite reason.Why gambling industry is a multi-million business? Due to addiction.
We've seen on how people do keep coming back to gambling sites, casinos, physical gambling places due to that motive on making money instead on having fun.
Gambling is for fun but those site owners do use that reason to lure in money and making it as a business.As a gambler you should know your priorities and limits

But still, it's not recommended to play gambling every day. You know the tension of expecting the winning will be there and we can't win most of the time we spend. Gambling will be a way of having fun and release stress if we know how we can use gambling properly. But if you think that you want to make money from gambling, then there will be a little chance for you to win. Gambling is entertainment, and we should manage the money that we want to use in gambling, so we don't lose all the money. No matter what, we could only enjoy the games, play gambling in some games in the limit time, then stop it and get out of the gambling places.

Self control is such a ridiculous advice to anyone in gambling. They seriously doesn't need it, what these people need is self discipline.  Because self control is very hard to achieve in the first place, self discipline will teach them when to stop and when to proceed.

That's right, if we are serious about making money in gambling there will be many negative impacts, especially when losing a lot of money, it can stress us. so as much as possible we play with fun, so that whatever results we get from gambling will be fun.

Theres a lot of gamblers in the whole world maybe some think that they gamble to make a money and some are think that they gamble because  fun. So many are different thought when we are talking about gambling but many of them are gambling because they want to win and they want to make money. So i think gambling has two different making money or have some fun.

you have a good point there mate,but what people are trying to say here is the "Majority" of gamblers are losing maybe there are some exaggeration in their part but we cannot blame them because most of them are basing on their experiences.

yeah there are others who are making good out of gambling as i have a friend that is very lucky and skilled so he mostly winning but he also admit that losses are there and that is gambling .
but please don't consider gambling that will make you a living instead find real job that has a minimum risk of losing.

I think we have 2 type of people first who just play to win or make money from it and other is the one who plays to get fun or entertain from it and in process if they win they consider it lucky for themselves. And this make the difference between the two types.

One can't certainly make a living from games like dice, roullete, etc. where you can't turn the house edge on your part. But there are many professional blackjack players(who count cards - which is not that viable these days due to the card shuffling machines) and, maybe the best example, poker players - who can make pretty constant gains, but that requires certain skills to be acquired. It's not just a matter of statistics or luck.
