We the users are the one who is causing trouble for ourselves when it comes to hacking. The main reasons are surfing the internet carelessly and not updating security features on our devices. Hacking can easily be avoided if you work with care.
Right, here are few discussions about this malware:

(1) affected by bitcoin Copy paste viruses
(2) Copy-Paste Virus For Bitcoin Users -- Beware!!!
(3) Virus change crypto address
(4) Don't get Hacked! Copy-Paste Virus!!

So it looks like this virus first appeared in 2017, but still up to this day, many are getting victimised. So obviously, you need to be very careful, if you have discovered that you have been affected by this malware, it's better to reformat your hard drive and start with a clean slate.
The copy-paste virus is living a long time ago for sure it's just that complaints number are getting higher in the year 2017. This kind of malware is easy to avoid and to remove. Let's just be careful about whatever we do on the internet.

We must be careful and vigilant on our account details especially online and btc addresses and passwords. Its really hard to control there motives but we must know the basics preventive measures to do. And the be careful in opening untrusted sites and links. Hopefully there are ways also to trace these people doing scams online as part of preventive measures as well.

where there is every chance there is a crime, all these problems go back to ourselves how can I avoid cases of hacking like that, honestly I have never accessed my bitcoin wallet on my smartphone let alone use a special smartphone wallet, I also never used other people's computers let alone other people's laptops except your own personal computer and laptop

I feel sorry if anyone has lost their BTC because of their carelessness, if I were they maybe I would double check my wallet address if I wanted to transfer big money, if only small money I didn't check the wallet address again, I hope there are many lessons obtained from this case so that it does not happen again in the future

There are uncountable such hacks in crypto world and can be easily avoided by paying little more attention every time you made a transaction.
I always store my keys on plain paper not on computer, storing your keys on online/computer and accessing your coins from everywhere looks cool but you are giving opportunity to hackers.

Unless you are storing your coins for a very long term you have no option at some time but to use your coins and for that you need to have your keys in a computer, however I really believe that many of the problems that people are suffering could be resolved by using a more secure operating system, people keep using Windows when we know that it is full of viruses and backdoors which hackers can use to take advantage of you and get to your coins and a simple change to Linux could make all the difference.

Of course, they need to do that because it involves money so everyone must know it on how they will protect their money. If they don't care about the privacy and about their money then it's their fault because a number of people create a short cut for an easy money.

The main thing to remember is that only licensed software should be installed on the computer. The sites you visit, you should also check, for example on this service https://www.virustotal.com Also, to interact with your cryptocurrency assets, it is better to use a separate computer, which will be designed only for work.

Means that everyone should be vigilant and check the pasted address accordingly and just avoid downloading apps that you are not familiar with.

This advise will pay the newbies more because they might be thinking that every advert sharing link to get some bitcoins or other coins are genuine. Thus, they might fall for such scam. Be wise and not to click on any untrusted site.

I'll doubt if the newbie who intend to invest and he has money and get interested to invest in it. Because they will surely find a legit place to store their money and make a thousand of analysts because they are affraid to getting scammed.

But most likely for those who fall to this scam/phising website are the newbie who just made bitcoin/cryptocurrency as a place to make money. I mean, they will find bitcoin first and after that they will be an investor of it. They intention are finding many source how to get bitcoin and never pay attention how the website is. So as they will easily to fall to this trap because they won't need a thousand of times to click everything.

Newbie or not, i think anyone must keep re-check recipient address. Because although not newbie, sometime we will face altcoin that ask us to download their wallet either it is phone or windows wallet. And malware like that can come from anywhere that we don't know. Newbie or not, if not careful we will lose money because of it. And usually people who get that malware, noticed after they think they send a coin but never come to wallet address that they input.

True. Opening unknown and suspicious links can really make you vulnerable for hacking. If you know you have important files and such on your PC or phone, you should always be careful installing and downloading apps and links. It's not always about being careful in copying and pasting addresses, we should prevent viruses from getting into our pc/cp.

Of course I am also very careful of hackers, regarding the number of files on emails and PCs of course everyone is very careful of suspicious links, of course it will make a big loss for us, usually the hackers are targeting new players who do not understand anything and are very it's easy for them to do it, so be careful for new users, especially for problems like this condition is very common..

I hope the new users in this platform especially who involves in Bitcoins must know the fundamentals of crypto currency and how to avoid this kind of scam. This scam is avoidable if the user have a basic knowledge and this knowledge must apply in reality.

I think that's not the only thing to watch out for, because there are many other factors we need to know about this case, the possibility is we open the wallet address anywhere, like using someone else's cellphone, and using someone else's wifi, things like this don't may be done because of the impact you will lose your Bitcoin or Altcoin and you also need to know, you may not download or open a site that you do not know about. so you have to be careful when you do something.

Knowing the fundamentals of cryptocurrencies specifically the knowledge about it might be obsolete to the future trends on cryptocurrency. as a result, Scam sites and fraudulent activities could still not be avoided, what we need is awareness to what is happening on our surroundings especially in every actions that we are doing online that could be the cause of different illegal activities such as smishing, vishing, spear phishing, phishing and many other forms or way to access our personal data and might eventually lead to stealing our money.

In article Google Play is mentioned like it's the most secure apps marketplace and how it happened that there was App published in this marketplace which contained virus.
Of course people mustn't download every app from Google Play, it's not IOS where security is really on high level (still I would double check there cause we are in touch with bitcoins where once it's gone, gone forever).
There was also one accident where phishing site had better rankings in google than original one and a lot of people were entering their username and passwords in wrong website, so a lot of people lost their bitcoins. Curious, yeah? The only deal here is from people to improve their security, double check everything that's related to bitcoin and cryptocurrencies in order to protect themselves from unwanted transactions and money steal. People even visit mixer websites in google that are using google ads in order to lie people.

Whether it is bitcoin or anything it is the users responsibility to keep thyself secure from hackers and traps. Always need to use the application and websites that have got good reputation. Malware spreading is quite complicated, but hackers are much practiced to it. Double checking is a must, further one needs to be very careful using the website as there are scams that resemble same as the original website.

It is always a risk investing in bitcoin but also as an investment in bitcoin I think we already know that the bitcoin is stored in its bitcoin wallet so I think this kind of malware and hackers are always a thing on the internet. For me, in the world of internet, we should always be careful to this kind of threats since it was easy to hack account in the internet if they don't have enough knowledge with just a few clicks it is easy to go in on other computers or just using an email.

Hackers and scammers never stops inventing new strategies for stealing from people. But, how you avoid these scammers is still the same ways – stop installing apps from unknown sources, make use of the main app stores whenever you want to install an application.

Stop opening unsolicited mails, when you see mails from people you don't know, just delete it immediately. And another thing is to avoid giving out information about yourself, because when they lay hands on your information they can as well use it to do something against you. I'm always careful with how I use cryptocurrency because I know that they are not like PayPal, there is no way you can reverse your money, once it's sent, just say bye-bye to it.

It is important to always discuss the security issue. The Internet gives us the opportunity to do great things as also we are exposed to the danger of cybercriminals. Above all, we who use cryptocurrencies must be cautious and follow all recommendations to be sure.
Use a secure wallet, activate 2FA, double-check the address that you are going to use to make a transaction, avoid visiting unreliable websites. Almost never I visit an http website. There are so many recommendations that we must follow and be cautious.
