Just want to get people’s thoughts on the service

From what I know it's like the DNS, just for crypto addresses.

1. The idea is not new, just it's improved by decentralization.
2. It still has one problem: I don't know of any major wallet handling that. If that'll ever happen, then it may be something nice. Until then there's a great feature nobody can use.

This is good when it comes about freedom of speech and press. No authorities to stop information from being shared but it also pose the same danger of illegal activities like open form of silk road, money laundering and other illegal sharings. Even a democracy won't be sufficient to stop them as digital democracy is very much manipulative.

I would love that but not really the unstoppable ones else we might have things that happen mostly on dark web becoming too common in Crypto world. Blockchain-friendly self-regulation would be the best ways to effectively combat decentralized crimes rather than centralized regulations. If we can solve decentralized exchanges problems with stuff like Blockchains interoperability idea, why not solve crypto crime problems with similar ideas.

It's unfortunate that regulation has somewhat become a dirty word due to how it's abused. Hopefully, the decentralized world will help change this mindset with a kind of self regulation that is Blockchain friendly and extremely hard to abuse.

if thats not what you mean, what are you talking about? and if Namecoin is the same thing your talking about, ya thats old news. no money there anymore Tongue

We are experiencing an experiment in democracy in the digital realm. We have developed democracies to some point in real life. Some systems are now blocked. Perhaps the definition of democracy will change. Bitcoin is not just a currency. Blockchain can be the new system of solidarity and agreement of humanity.

From what I know it's like the DNS, just for crypto addresses.

This has nothing to do with DNS, or in any way connected to DNS.

They don't give you domains. They give you wallets, or domain-like addresses, but not real domains. Well, the only thing their so-called "domains" can do is point to some IPFS hash that hosts a static html page and redirect, which becomes accessible only if the user installs the browser extension. I have no idea what people paid their money for.

Somebody tried to find the solution, the guys at opennic.org give you the links to alternative DNS servers

reminds me of ethereum name service ENS which is usually used with ico addresses back in the day. Unstoppable Domains is  recently launched, it also operates on top of the Ethereum blockchain.
