Everyone can really buy bitcoin it depends on you if you can take the risk because a lot of people wanted to try to buy bitcoin, but in the end they all scared in taking a huge risk because their losses would increased. A 5000$ is too much in buying bitcoin, so it will be worth it if bitcoin started to increased it's price in this year of 2019 or next year of 2020.

Go localbitcoins.com or paxfull.com then create an account and buy bitcoin.Or you can use others sites but these are safe IN my view.if you have money in PayPal,skrill,nettler etc. Then go to currency exchange and exchange your money to btc. But you should use escrow to avoid scam.

Honestly bitcoin could go as far as it can, as long as we support it. Bitcoin's price is quite stable on a short price point this year just moving around $7000 to $9000, it is safe to buy now and is sure for the future profit knowing the bull run did not happen the previous year so it is much anticipated next year. The internet offer so much of information about the bitcoin, you can just search basically everything.

Welcome to the world of cryptocurrency. the safest Crypto to invest in is BTC. people with more capital hold higher BTC percent because they want to stay somewhat risk adverse in the space. There is a reason BTC dominates 67 percent of the entire market. to new guys I recommend either just buy BTC and hold, or go 70 percent BTC, and the rest can be altcoins of your choice. at the end of the day all other coins are standing on the shoulders of Bitcoin.

Further, I highly recommend not day trading, as its very hard to get into and costly with high risk. But if you do, for the love of god, buy low, sell high. don't sell when the price is dropping, sell when the price is going up, buy when the price is going down.

It's better if you register first in an exchange to be able to buy bitcoin, I think binance is very good as a good exchange reference, but others also have good priorities, you can choose it.

This is what OP should do first because no matter how good bitcoin is if someone doesn't know how this thing's work, it's still not working in the long run. I think it was a great time to buy bitcoin since the market price of bitcoin was so low in this month I think it will be a good opportunity next year for the bitcoin market price to recover.
Also, I recommend investing it for a passive income since 5000$ was already a great amount of money to start a business or a passive income I think it was a more accurate profit than investing it in cryptocurrency.

I don't see the problem, there are several exchanges you can use to buy bitcoin. In fact you could even do it here in the forum using someone as escrow (the very old fashioned way). But it think it would be easier for you to use something like localbitcoins.

As for fraction bitcoin, there is no problem. Every bitcoin is composed of 100 miliion satoshis, you have 8 decimals in there...

OR, you can spend that money in a couple of (modern) asic miners and wait until they reach return of investment, and after that anything produced is net worth. Depending on the price of electricity in your place, 5¢ or less per kW/h should be good.

If you live in one of the countries with really cheap electricity (or you happen to have renewable or otherwise "free" electricity), you can also buy used S9 miners for about 100$ each. You could get 50 with all that money, but you must use a part for the electrical installation, ventilation of the place etc.

If you are smart, you would diversify. Perhaps a portion in miners, and a portion in simple coin hold. But you need discipline and wait for good results.
