You made good points though; I have seen self-funded projects which did well and after listing on smaller exchange still continued development from which they grew and entered into bigger exchanges. At the same time, self-funded projects can also be a means to attract investors then dump everything once they get listed. So in all, it comes down to understanding the project, seeing tangible reasons to invest, seeing and using what the team have been working on no matter how small etc, then making the right choice.

But not necessarily self-funded projects will be good, because there will be conditions where you can't do anything because they have full control over their own projects.
If you are disadvantaged where will you complain if the project is self-funded?
It is true they have unlimited funds for promotion and marketing strategies and others.
But for the followers it will be confused to see the extent of its development because it does not have access. Maybe it will only be a spectator.

Hello

So nowadays less and less people trust ICO projects due to their past of scams and false promises. I would like to support projects that are self-funded and work day and night in order to make their project succeed.

I would suggest that we open a topic for self-funded projects where investors and members that would be interested can invest or at least check the project.

Self-funded projects do not have unlimited funds for marketing and promoting themselves like ICO's. Why not help them with project awareness?

After all, we all want to avoid scammers and unprofitable investments. I'm not sure if this is within forum rules tho.. (advertising projects)

Please tell me what you think, or if mods allow you can share self-funded project in the comments.

Thanks for your opinion in advance.
To avoid scam projects and false promises, self-funded projects will help us to avoid scam projects and can make investors unafraid to invest in a project that ultimately makes investors disadvantaged. But this will certainly make projects that seek funding from ICO will find it difficult to develop and difficult to attract investors so that the projects presented can run.

if the project finances itself, this does not mean that it will be successful and allocating it as a recommendation for investment will not be right. I think that each person at this market is able to find such projects by himself if he is interested in it, so I would not create a separate topic for this. I am interested in what other forum members think about this. maybe such a thread would be relevant specifically for beginners

I understand your point. What I meant was to help their advertisement by sharing them in a topic where people could discuss whether it is a legit project or not. I think we are all old enough to reasearch the project and self-funded projects now more than ever need to raise awareness

All i'm suggesting is opening a topic where we could discuss newly developed self-funded projects.

Self funded projects can easily scam users. Being self funded has nothing to do with credibility of owners, use case and success.

You don't get it, how about a self funded project with no real use case? still same with other shitcoin right? what should be your aim is coins with real use cases not self funded, i know self funded projects are well managed but not all of them are good

The majorities of the self-funded have become the successful project and there was no a lot of self-funded projects if we are back in 2017 - 2019.
As far as i know, some projects like decred, nano, etc were self-funded project.

But there some interesting self-funded project like blocknet, energi is the new self-funded projects.
Maybe the failed self-funded project will not come to this thread but im not sure about self-funded project which has already raised awareness from investors will also come to this thread because they have made their own announcement thread.

After loosing a lot of ETH with several pumped SCAM ICO, I'm no longer "donating" coins or time to projects that require initial investments. Period.

I recently came up on Helios Protocol and I'm impressed about their plans for a decentralized web and smart contracts platform, and the way they are building up the team of supporters from scratch. Might worth giving a look.
