Hello Community,
It was brought to our attention that there are mass Discord messages from a website called betbit.fun giving away prizes. We wanted everyone to know that they are not in any way related to betbit.com. I do not know if they are legitimate or not, I just know they are being confused with us (Betbit.com). The confusion is in name only. They are not pretending to be us or misrepresenting us, it's just that their domain name is the same.
So, if you are pulled in by a free knife or other prizes, know that it's not us.

they not have thread here on bitcointalk, I didn't see any review about them on the internet and when I tried to visit their site, I got this message:  they must be some scammers who are trying to steal money from people using your website reputation. I do not know if they are legitimate or not... it seems to me that they are scammmer |

High chance that they are fishing naive users here. |

probably someone has already reported them and their little ""promotion" is not going to result in anything
it didn't cost them much aside from 1.28$ for betbit.fun domain at Namecheap and some time , good thing Google reacted fast and added them to their list

I thought so too. It more like a phishing scheme to confuse the users of betbit.com and log in to their site. Good thing it got their attention and warm the community about this site. |

Did you reach out to the founders and ask why they have the same name? I mean if it's a coincidence then ok fine, it is after all common to have bet, bit and dice and things like that in a crypto casino, but if the thing was deliberate it could be a big warning sign IMO. Might even be better to just see if you could buy the domain from them and keep all domains parked. The phishing warnings are already a marker.

They are some of the dumbest scammers I have encountered since browsers are able to identify the threat pretty easily. It is clearly a desperate attempt to try and scam users and I doubt anyone would have fallen for such a cheap trick.
Betbit.fun does not appear in the top 10 list on Google while the original site appears in 1st place which is why no one needs to worry about such a pointless site.

Yap but sometime people are not really aware about this kind of scam attempt using similar domain. Some people used to search on google, in this case people will use "betbit" as the main clue words. There will be a chance for people to click the fake/copy site and start to play but they do not realize that they are in the wrong site. It happened many times already in online world, so people need to double check of any sites they want to visit. Bookmarking the original site can be a good option to do to avoid scam attempt using similar domain name. |

I guess if a place uses another places name, I think we can all guess what they are after and we can call them scammers. What legit website would create a website with a name so similar to any other website and then try to convince players from that said website to their own website with promotions and gifts and all that?
They are obviously doing a phishing attempt and right now aside from the fact of same name we have two other risky behaviors one with the website not having an SSL certificate which makes them look dangerous and we wouldn't trust a regular website without SSL let alone a website that looks like phishing, the second one is not having any topics here so why would I trust a website that wouldn't try to defend themselves neither? So, they are looking dangerous totally and wouldn't dare to even register let alone gamble.

Hey guys,
Thank you for the feedback. If I had merit I'd be giving them out like I was in a Mardis Gras parade. I was originally concerned, but now after your perspectives, I see that it is transparent that they are scammers. I didn't even land on their page due to the same warning.
Why would they waste time and effort? True it's cheap, ($1.28 Thanks Veletan), but it makes me wonder what they could possible be doing to make any revenue? If there are any more developments, I'll alert the community. Thanks to all.

Thanks for letting the community know what is going on here. I am sure it was very confusing for some people at first because the names are so similar. Now it should be clear to them who is who. I think that more people should see this thread. Honestly, there are so many people that do not pay attention to details it is really ridiculous. It seems you always have to be alert and on your toes when you are online.

That was a risky site, good thing you shared it here, or it would still show a warning if this was not brought out? Scammers, hackers are everywhere, we should be careful in visiting the site. Personally I haven't put my bet on https://www.betbit.com/ so I would be safe since it's not on my interest list. |

I think this is one the biggest problem or we can say the biggest mistake here in crypto world that need to work out and do something to avoid misidentity of every game project or gamesite name. If the propose game name have the same sounds to a new build project, I think the moderator need to disapprove it and ask for another name to avoid confusion.
