Memory 950 core clock 1200
Ethereum hashrate 26.5-26
power 70W-65w
I need more time for the tests. but it seems that the performance is not very good. maybe with some custom timmings ...
I expected more performance, maybe with some custom timmings I would improve a lot. at the moment the Navi bios cannot be modified.
remember that a rx 580 stock reaches 25mhs with custom memory timmings can reach 31mhs

LOL performance not good? The RX 580 has more shader and more memory bandwith (very important for eth mining), so the result is that what it is. The AMD 5700 has double bandwith of the 5500 and can do 55mh. So nothing new here. Make some custom timings and i think you can reach 30mh and undervolt the core more.

The 5500 is just an updated Polaris and exactly half a 5700 in terms of mining...nearly same memory bandwidth and almost half the power draw on 7nm compared to old polaris. So 26MH stock makes perfect sense. No reason to not go with the 5700, since its double the power draw and double the performance for less than double the price.

29-29.5 mh/s eth mining speed at ~80w power usage.
Significantly lower power usage then the previous generations.
I still have to see if at this speed range the card founds as many shares as expected.

80watt vs 120watt in the RX580 looks interesting. But for the price of one 5500XT you can buy 2 RX580, it's worth thinking about. The choice between them will depend on the cost of electricity (W/$) for a particular miner.

The 580 could be 3+ years old with no warranty and the 5500XT could have almost 3 years warranty left. From a hash perspective they're about the same, from an energy the 5500xt is better but not for double the cost in your market. I would hate to see how much 5700xts are.

A new rx 580 8gb is already around $220 or more and the 5500xt is almost the same price, that makes no sense buying rx 580 for more than 150 usd at moment. Retailers should have been happy mining is good so they can sell those old gpus like rx xxx and instead they increase the prices, what the hell.

I was getting rx 5500 xt 8gb for 191 usd it is now 225. I think mining will heat up more keeping card prices high for the next 2-3 months. My guess is we stay upwards until Jan-Feb

It's crazy out there, wild west at its best, kill or be killed hehe, some defi coins are pumped 10x in hours, it might be worse than icos in 2017-2018, I wonder what will happen when all crashes to hell. There is nothing logical about those pumps and the funny thing is when eth or btc rises 10% in one day, people complain about rising too fast ehhe, my recommendation is, stay away from defi scam.

I`ve got 28.5-28.8Mh with RaveOS with Micron memory but it`s unstable. For stable work i`ve got 28.2Mh - it works for a week without troubles, after it i reboot AMD rigs for prevention

Can I ask what settings you're using? Sorry for the late reply. That was with windows 10 single card, overclocking it as much as possible. It turned out that the card is not stable at these speeds to use in a miner setup. You will get 28-28.5mh/s from this card with linux, a bit less with windows. AFAIK bios modding is still not available for this card. But I think the card itself could do more if the tools would be available.
