[ASK] Segwit Bitcoin Address

Hello guys! 

I just came back here after a long period of inactivity on this forum, and I have a little question that I hope I gets answered 
As you saw on the title, I want to ask about the Segwit BTC address. I see everyone using it as the payouts  address when they participate in signature campaigns. Is it mandatory? If I don't mention security, what do you think about e-wallet ?(I usually use Coinbase  ). Also, give me a few suggestions about the Segwit BTC address that I should use.

It depends on the campaign, some of them set it as mandatory (like ChipMixer). I don't see why would anyone be against using SegWit anyway, after all, it benefit you (lower fees) and the network as more people start using it.

You shouldn't use Coinbase or any other online/web wallet (because of the security and safety of your funds yes). Go with Electrum instead (SW fully supported).

Thanks for your support! I have known Electrum for a long time but I have never used it, maybe I will have a few difficulties to starting. Nothing is better than my money being safe!
