There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, but full nodes are more resource-heavy, and they must do a lengthy initial syncing process. As a result, lightweight clients with somewhat less security are commonly used.

By this point if anyone out there really does still fall for that then I welcome the removal of their money and into other hands. It's only matter of time before they lose it so they may as well choose the first opportunity that presents itself.

Good catch OP, I'm glad that no one has fall for the trick as of now, the btc address is still empty. And I do hope that no one will fall for this. As holiday is just around the corner, those scammers are also busy stepping up their criminal activity so everyone should be vigilant.

Scammer's BTC Address:- 14BA84qW5jK5ET1SmvhtHhEnwcpexzZUvb
This type of scam does not stand up to much, so it is often targeted at new members in forums or media, and the site may not last more than a week. The real question: Does Coinbase (or other) track these addresses/IP/others and try to find out who is doing the scam? I mean, do they really care to fight these scammers and try to find out who they are doing, or just close the site?

Fortunately, this catch makes the thread here so many people know about criminal scamer tricks ,, ponzi schemes continue to see more and more from this board many ponzi schemes that occur I am happy to see this because I already know I will tell my close friends not to be interested with a tempting offer to invest heavily.

No shit Sherlock Holmes, the thread subject explicitly states that. I'm pretty surprised that this scam still works, is it just that there are a lot of stupid people in crypto? I don't see a lot of these types of scams with traditional currency.

Correct. Most people who pile in have no understanding of it. All they dream of is a rising number so believe that any offering by anyone who looks faintly official will add to that cos that's 'what it does'. It's odd how they choose to blind themselves to the humongous losses that preceded the absolute peak they usually arrive at.

Stupid people not only exists in crypto but they exists everywhere therefore we see these scammers keep on scamming. I still see people willing to double their fiat by depositing their money to the scammers. If the whole world would become intelligent there will be no space for such scams. People are lazy and want free money, and therefore they fell in these traps.

The difference crypto has is that magic aura of infinite gains that nothing else has. Also internet anonymity and irreversibility are a beautiful gift to the scammy. We see the same here every day but it just doesn't seem to cross many a mind. If a bloke walked up to you in the street with a bag on his head and asked for 500 dollars cash and promised 1000 tomorrow but left no way of contacting him would you do it? Almost no one would. Yet they do it in droves in cryptoland. I do not understand why.

The problem here in crypto is that you would find a nice website and presentation that will make you think that every thing is legal and we can make millions by investing a little. As in the example, the scammer impersonate to be a coinbase site, so many will just invest in it blindly as they will think it is the real coinbase offer.
