I also have the same idea before but as time goes by investors are don't really want to spend their crypto for something they rather hold it than to use it.
So I think that only a small percent of investor or crypto holders are cashing out for the holiday season there might be another reason why the price is falling.
but for bitcoin to grow we must not totally hold as circulation is a must.and also the price today is bullying ,i hope this will continue for at least a week so we can have a good year end,but i dont consider now using crypto for buying gifts rather use Fiat this year like what i did in 2018.

This is yelutide season celebrated once in a year I must confess I am selling some of my accumulated bitcoin to buy gifts, stuffs and pay some bills, although my actions and other Bitcoin hodlers that also sold some Bitcoin might have an impact on the price probably price drop however I believed after the year new price would come back to its proper shape ie bullish run.

A better reason might be that people are selling coins or using coins to buy Xmas gifts. Let's be honest, it is that time of the year and people are going on holiday, so they need to dive into their Bitcoin hoard to pay for that and also some Xmas gifts.  Huh

Are you using your coins to buy Xmas gifts and to pay for your holiday expenses?
I disagree. I don't think people selling a portion of their Bitcoin stash would cause that much pressure on the price. It's just Bitcoin volatility, nothing to do with Christmas in my opinion. Besides, I don't think there are many people who put their holiday's budget in Bitcoin. That's would be risky and stupid, might ruin your holiday lol.

No, I'm not selling my Bitcoin now. I'm not selling it for my holiday. I have a separate budget for it. Selling your Bitcoin now would cause regret in the future, believe me.

Lol, their speculations are based on random bullshit. They think that since Christmas and New year is coming, people will start selling their coins to buy gifts, thus the price will fall. Do they even know how big this crypto market is and that this small selling won't even affect the price  much? Coincidentally, we have seen the price drop recently (and now those predictors think that they were right haha) but at the same time, it did recover a little.

Its possible that investors are selling their bitcoin to buy gifts since holiday season is approaching and this could be one of the reason why the price is declining (though the price managed to recover already).

At first im planning to use my bitcoin to buy christmas gift for my loved ones but due to the recent price declined I refrain myself from spending my btc.

So, watching the price of Bitcoin going down, made me think of reasons why this might be happening now.  Roll Eyes  I saw the news of the Chinese

scam and the coins being liquidated, but that sounds like a lame excuse for the price going down. A better reason might be that people are selling

coins or using coins to buy Xmas gifts. Let's be honest, it is that time of the year and people are going on holiday, so they need to dive into their

Bitcoin hoard to pay for that and also some Xmas gifts.  Huh

indeed that might be true because at the end of the year some people will sell bitcoin or other coins to buy gifts for their families or go on holiday abroad because so far we have seen the decline in bitcoin prices always at the end of the year like last year.
Honestly for the end of this year I will not sell my coins to buy gifts because the current coin price is less stable and it is better for me to buy a gift using only cash.

That's pure nonsense. Only noobs can come up with that. Why are investors not cashing out on the stock market to buy lambos, yachts, etc? Stocks keep hitting higher highs.

I don't understand how people can't just acknowledge a simple thing as a down trend, one that started months ago already. Charts don't lie. What's the most likely next move for the price during a down trend and all major moving averages sloping down? Right! It's down. In the same way, what's the most likely move for the extremely bullish stock market? Right! It's up.

Also, the price didn't recover, it is just one of the many bounces. Nothing in the market has changed.

I didnt find much places which accept bitcoin as the payment in my locality. So, I am going with "selling to buy Xmas gifts". Though I have my own savings in fiat for the gifts, but I would need to spend some satoshis too in case I go short of money.
That is actually the hurdle between bitcoin becoming a widely accepted mode of payment. There aren't many places where we can use BTC. We need to support the utility of btc in order to make it widely accepted.

This year I spent some BTC on a gift for MYSELF because I'm very attracted to me and I can't think of anyone else who could possibly deserve it more.

I attempt to make Xmas revenue neutral so spend whatever comes back my way over the season. It's way more fun setting a budget, going somewhere cheap and emerging with whatever you can find. There are usually some surprising results.

I'll tell you this: some people could liquidate some of their holdings to buy xmas gifts but the impact that has on the market price is close to zero. Retailers don't move the market, they just follow the market. Unless a deep pockets investor deloads a big part of their BTC to buy a yacht or helipad or God knows which I think is very unlikely, you can't attribute market dumps to xmas gift purchasing. It's funny when you think about it  Cheesy

Many people sell coins for this very reason. Christmas holidays require a lot of money to buy gifts, decorate the house, spend a vacation. Massive sales of Bitcoin lead to its decline, however, I am sure that the market situation will change in February when the holidays end

I don't sell bitcoin for Xmas and year-end, just sold altcoins to cash out enough for my expenses.
Many reasons why the bitcoin price drop but one thing for sure, more people selling bitcoin than people who buy it.
Aside from that, we don't know the exact reason why the market at such a condition, probably miners generate so much bitcoin and it's time to get more cash for Xmas and year-end.

I think many people have the same thought. I will not sell for anything at the current price.
maybe some people sell their bitcoin to celebrate Christmas or new year, but I don't do that. if there is something I want to buy, of course at a time like this the savings become the main money. hold on, moon soon.

Are you using your coins to buy Xmas gifts and to pay for your holiday expenses?

In my country, there is a very little option where I can spend my bitcoins directly. To be honest, I am converting some of my bitcoins to buy Christmas gifts and use some for holiday vacation. Maybe others are also doing what I am doing but I do not think that is enough to move the price this low. There is more to this dump than just the holiday season.

I will never use my bitcoin for this purpose because I have my spare money for the presents to my love ones. Right now is not a good time to sell your bitcoin especially if you bought your bitcoin beyond $10k. I think the price is down because people are selling not for the purpose of the gifts but to escape from declaring their whole profit this year end to avoid paying big taxes this is just my speculation, and bitcoin can’t move much if I sold mine so I think its really not the reason of dump.

It all depends on how much money has a person on its crypto account. Perhaps if there are a lot of them, then a person can easily cash out the necessary amount. Although it looks stupid, right now is the best time to buy Bitcoin and not for sale

I don’t think Christmas is the reason for a price drop. In fact most people claim that the price increases this time of year. I think the reason for the drop is just current market conditions unrelated to the time of year.
