Its already happening, altcoins has any adopters already even before the last bull run of 2017, today 99% of my coin is altcoins and most of my friends too so do not bother, altcoins has good fans

Its very dangerous decision to buy all of your funds with altcoin, i mean you can buy 50% of it in bitcoin why you need to risk it all? We dont know for the next bull run if all altcoin will also follow the thrend we are waiting. Actually we dont if there are bullrun that will happen nextyear only speculation.

Only speculation which doesn't secure your investment. If you are planning to hold it's much better to hold bitcoin or most part of your assets should be on this coin. with a lots of supporters and since halving is really being count as good news to have some big effects to the market.

Do your home work and research everything before putting any amount of investment with your chosen project.

For now I also prefer to invest in bitcoin because if we look at the price of bitcoin being declining, this is the right time to buy more or invest most of your money into bitcoin. But that does not mean that other coins or altcoins are not good to invest because I also invest in altcoin which in my opinion has great potential.

What you are basically asking is ig investors and traders like us buy more altcoins then it will boost the use of altcoins and will promote cryptocurrencies in general.
You do have a good point there but I have a different perspective. For me, a coin should grow naturally out of it's own potential value.
If an altcoin has a good use case then people should use it naturally and hence it's value would increase with greater stability.
Bitcoin is hyped up as well. Though it's price is in thousands right now but there are not many countries that legally accept bitcoin as a payment method.
Once bitcoin is globally accepted, it's real potential price would show up and that's how it should be in my opinion.

There is a lot of projects that have real use in the world but most token or coin out there is useless. Some token provide the same service just difference in their quality. But alts are needed in the crypto world. Without alts, BTC can't grow that big.

They create altcoin just for project and there is ICO they've create for the investor to choose or to know on when their money going to invest also to encourage investor for a project. Yaps, my assumption is that Bitcoin cannot live alone and still requires such a solid altcoin behind it all. Bitcoin no longer can be the face of cryptocurrency as it has become a rare asset to hold.
Currency should be easily used and transacted for trades and deals. People could buy bitcoin after being familiar with crypto but most of them won't even try a crypto if their first experience of crypto was costly and late.

How can Bitcoin be the face of cryptocurrency, when it has a double-spend exploit  

If people really want to promote cryptocurrency, they need to setup grassroot movements in those countries that are suffering from high inflation / hyperinflation
and educate the people there on the ground on how a (payment-focussed) cryptocurrency works (Dash for example) and how such a cryptocurrency can be used for everyday purchases.
That is where real adoption takes place and where promotion is needed.

People will become more interested in altcoins when big names start taking up responsibility and creating their own altcoins. I believe that what people want most is a brand they can trust and nothing more. Nobody wants an altcoin that will turn out tomorrow to become trash and a waste of money. Just imagine that Facebook is released and the number of people that will be ready to adopt it. Other altcoins are usually a disappointment and that's the reason why a lot of people are not interested. The only altcoins that are very good in the market are the top altcoins just like the Ethereum.

Pay attention to the dominance of Bitcoin and you will see the addiction and understand why everything is so bad with altcoins. Diversification is necessary if investing in altcoin but it is not necessary if investing in bitcoin because altcoin always correlates with bitcoin.

The problem is that many of these altcoins have no use. They make promises there will be uses. you can buy this and that and support that or this and buy and sell gaming items. It never really gets to that. It very rarely ever gets passed the initial distribution stage. Until people stop supporting these projects this will continue to happen. If they supported better projects the bad ones would die out and then maybe we will find ourselves with some useable crypto other then speculation.
