in my opinion, it depends on the price when you buy bitcoin compared to the current price, whether you have made a profit or not, if it is then it is not a problem to sell but if not then it is better to keep holding and waiting for the right moment

Well, we don't know yet when the market will soar but one thing is for sure right now is that halving would come, and it will surely make the price more decent.

if you are sure to get quite a lot of profit I think it's okay to sell bitcoin now and then take the profit. because bitcoin is very volatile tomorrow or in a week it will decrease. so you lose your profits. the important thing in investing crypto besides speculation is emotional control not to be greedy. sometimes people keep hoping the value of a coin will continue to rise and delay selling but in reality the coin does not increase. so if you already feel profitable, selling is the right decision.

I hope you already sold your bitcoin in 2017 because, in that year, your profit will be bigger than now. But if you cannot sell in that year, you will have another chance to sell your bitcoin in the next bull run that will come in the next year. If the bull run is not happening in the next year, then you can wait for more so you can sell the bitcoin at a higher price. But you can sell it right now if you want, so you can take the profit while you can wait for another bull run. Can you give us the exact date on how long you've been holding your bitcoin? Because selling is someone's choice and we have a different goals for bitcoin price before we like to sell it.

Frankly speaking, the best time to sell is when the market is in the peak of it's price and if you are wondering when is the peak price of bitcoin. It occurred last 2017-Jan 2018 and if you are only holding for less than a year and you call it a long time ago already then you still have plenty of experience to gain in order to become a good investor.

@Rebelbd even though I am not aware when you have purchased your coins, I yet would advise you to hold onto your coins unless you need to sell them for sudden emergencies. In my opinion bitcoin prices should rally upwards before the halving event takes place, hence you should consider holding your coins till then.

Hope we've got what we are expecting to happen and have been successful to our plans. Meanwhile, we have to listen and keep track of market changes cause not halving could only help for the market price to soar high, it can some sort of it.
We only have 7 days to go before we end up this year and we are still getting low from the bullish that most are expecting. But the price is still high (for me), it is $7k plus, not bad at all.

Perfect time to sell your coins is up to you, but it should always be a time when you have made profit, although it doesn’t work out that way for some people. I can remember there was a time I never had enough money to invest in Bitcoin and when I invest the price would go down at a time when I’m in need of using that money.

I would have no other option than to sell my coins and use the money to solve my problems. That almost made me stop investing in Bitcoin. I got pissed because I was not benefiting from it, the price was always going down at a time when I needed the money and that’s how I will always end up with loss. It was like that most times until things changed and I was able to Hodl for a long time.

Shouldn't sale all depend on what you do with your life? At the end of the day some person can wait until they die and inherit that to their children, some people may hold until they retire and sell it to have a better retirement, some people may save until they buy one thing they have been wanting and some people just buy/sell daily.

Honestly, there is no X price to sell bitcoin that makes sense to every human on earth, that is not possible because we are all different people with different needs and wants and wishes so the price to sell bitcoin for all of us changes. I personally want to have a million dollars, I don't care what the price of bitcoin is but if my bitcoin worth ever comes close to that I will definitely sell, this doesn't work out for everyone for example.

The price is still not going up, and if you are planning to sell make sure that your selling price is higher than your buying price. I like your prediction and feel the same about the price.
I found the best way of getting more Bitcoin without regrets is getting rid of an addiction or some unhealthy habit and dedicating the money to buying BTC every month. Just spend some of that money you'd otherwise spend on booze or hookers on BTC and you won't regret it. Trying to fish for tops and bottoms is gambling, nothing else.

I also believe that we're going up in the long run and another bull market when we break 20k won't be 25k or 30k. It's going to be 50k+ I've been watching this market for a long time and we both are probably wrong with that 50k prediction and it will sell some at that level but the price will to to 100k. I did that when we were going to 20k. Took some profit at 7k because I thought the price was  already crazy, over 7x the previous ATH, but it did not stop. That's how powerful BTC bull runs are.

Depending on your choice? Because it happens to me last time when I really need the money and I have no choice but to sacrifice and sell it even I could lose some bucks. It was a wrong idea but somehow it helps me out from nothing. Uhm, December 2017? JK, you can't know when you can sell for maximum profit. So, the best time for selling is when you're satisfied with the profit. If you feel this price is fair, then sell now. If you still expect more upward movement, then wait. I personally would wait considering what's coming up in Bitcoin: the halving.
