Might do this kind if thing. It can possibly boost the awareness of the sorroundings and can possibly make the people out of their curiousity. There’s also a chance that I might get talkback from the cashier or the operator because of their unawareness but it’s fine for me though. I will defintely put this on my new years bucketlist.

I figure you are doing that in Germany (looking over your posting history). There seems to be a bunch of places there that do accept Bitcoin there (play around with https://coinmap.org/view/#/map/52.51732782/13.38885990/11, although I do  not know how accurate the information there is), so one day you’ll likely hit a place that accepts Bitcoin, and you will be left with the dilemma of whether to really payout in BTC then and there ...

The problem with those is that most are service providers and exchanges.
Even if you zoom out so you can see even the Tegel airport there are only a bunch of cafes and restaurants and at least one of them is no longer accepting crypto (or never was) like a cafe next to U-Bahn at Alexanderplatz
But, at the same time, fortunately, there are a lot of places that are not listed there as probably the owners have never heard of coinmap.

I've worked in Postdam for 2 years, so I managed to visit a few of those but never found a grocery store that was taking bitcoin.
Probably things have changed for the better but in all my travels I haven't yet found one.

I might do this aswell when I go to convenience store but it seems they will only implement it if fair amount of people demands to. we need to consider how they account their shop aswell and simply accepting bitcoin will more or less gives additional burden in which why most of the shop nowadays are reluctant of accepting new payment method unless they are getting sponsored.

Me and my friends go over to asking the staff every time we have to pay a bill somewhere at the checkout if we can pay with Bitcoin. Of course the answer is always no. We are much more concerned with raising awareness among the general public about cryptocurrencies and Bitcoin in particular. Because we often see that shortly after this question, employees tell their colleagues about this presence, and they will almost certainly do so at home.  A single question can reach dozens of people and Bitcoin is becoming more aware.

So: go out and invest those few seconds during each payment process to push the Bitcoin!

@BTCtalker3000 this is an excellent initiative and I would like you to do one more thing, try and make a list of all the places you have visited and asked this question and then send your different set of friends there and make sure they ask similar questions. Once the management sees that more and more people are inquiring about bitcoins then they’ll be compelled to introduce it, and with their introduction it’s adoption will spread to all their customers too.

You can pay using bitcoin but with online site, you can looking which one site accepted bitcoin as payment transaction and you can sent bitcoin for your payment, maybe many online site have support using bitcoin and altcoin as legal payment but you have check trusted site first before you make transaction and pay your bitcoin.

yeah specially if the manager is around, and most likely if couple of people do the same thing in the same store?there will be a chance that they may consider talking and looking about what is this Bitcoin and why people keep asking if they can pay using this.

I agree with this subtle promotion campaign. So far i have only done it online. In a physical store if i don't see some sort of sticker or sign, it hasn't occurred to me to ask, but you might never know...

That's really an interesting idea, to be honest, to ask if you can pay some bills or anything else using bitcoin. In that way they will take it as a consideration and they'll may add bitcoin payment after your suggestions.. Even if they didn't accept bitcoin as payment, they're at least know that there's people who wants that and they got that in their mind, that's obviously well help bitcoin to be spread quickly around people.

That could actually be a great help but still it is not necessary to ask this question everywhere you go or buy. You should still be wise upon asking because it may instead cause a bad impression for bitcoin and for its user. Some people may find it offending or confusing having the fact that there's no contact committed yet within that certain area. Although it may look bad for some, you can still keep on asking if bitcoin payments can be done in the sense of bringing awareness to other people and their businesses.

I will ask in some stores. Privately owned ones. I don't ask in chain stores since the people are less likely to talk about it as much as a private one since they have almost 0 control in a chain store but in a private store, their opinion will be heard. It is also easier for private stores to start using crypto. I think they will need to learn how to convert to either stable coin or fiat so they do not lose the value of their services or whatever they sell. They could also choose not to sell and keep to hodl as an investment as well. It really brings many different things to the table.

The same thing happens to me, it is a world that is already in modernity and has not yet implemented this type of payment in shops.

that's a good idea, I like that advice ... it makes people think, if really new money is needed, that is bitcoin, then they will become curious and start following bitcoin hunting too ...!

Of course, this can be helping a lot because all businesses are always listening to their customers or clients and if they can sense that a good number of people or possible customers are asking for something which they think they can easily provide then they will do it. In fact, the biggest reason why we have low number of merchants is because people are not asking for the possibility to pay with Bitcoin as the majority of Bitcoin holders are more concerned with speculations rather use Bitcoin as a currency or to pay with something. When there is a big demand from people that they be served with the choice of paying with Bitcoin, then there is no question that a business will really do anything to have it on board. In other words, we have a big problem on the demand side.

Indeed short questions sometimes can make curiosity people increase because if we asking this questions everytime we want to make transactions then those people will asking too what is mean bitcoin and indirectly this makes people slightly understand what is bitcoin and who knows after short explanation from us they will interested to joining and using bitcoin so i do liked with your idea

It could potentially increase adoption on single-user level and smaller community, which could increase demand and thus, the price. It could also make larger companies look into adopting cryptocurrencies because it's what the people 'want' to be accessible, though I still think we are still small in number. In US alone, only 8% actually use and hold cryptocurrencies, and that number would be reduced based on how many of that wants to participate in the agenda.

It is a good idea to raise awareness to the public. In my community there are still a lot of people who do not know what it is and it uses. As a part of the cryptocurrency community, I have also responsibility and it is to raise awareness to the public. Asking stores and other merchants if they are accepting bitcoin or other cryptocurrency as mode of payment is really a good idea to promote it.

It's a nice move to spread awareness about Bitcoin and crypto.
Peoplewho doesn't know about Bitcoin would be curious about it and maybe they would try to invest if they find it profitable for them,
Maybe the storewould also be aware aboutit and started to accept it inthe future.

That is what adoption means and advertise of cryptocurrency nowadays.

Some people asked how is it possible to achieve such thing, well you have your answer here.
I am also one of those that ask if i can bitcoin anywhere on each local store so that i don't need to pay with my credit / debit cards or fiat for the payment.

Glad one more person from this community is doing the same that will bring much more new crypto users to the market thus making +1 for future adoption acceptance.

This is a great idea. It will really help spread bitcoin knowledge and open up something that will change the payment system. Maybe mostly will  ask us back what is bitcoin and in that way we can give them ideas about it.

There are selfish person out there who know cryptocurrencies but he doesn't have any plan to spread what he know. It is really better if we will share what we know to other people because there is a positive effect to whole cryptocurrency market. We should not be selfish, we should always share our knowledge to other people for them to adopt it. There are many stores that are willing to adopt it if we will influence and encourage them.
