Me and my friends go over to asking the staff every time we have to pay a bill somewhere at the checkout if we can pay with Bitcoin. Of course the answer is always no. We are much more concerned with raising awareness among the general public about cryptocurrencies and Bitcoin in particular. Because we often see that shortly after this question, employees tell their colleagues about this presence, and they will almost certainly do so at home. A single question can reach dozens of people and Bitcoin is becoming more aware.
So: go out and invest those few seconds during each payment process to push the Bitcoin!
The idea of yours will surely give them interest and start thinking what is bitcoin. this is also good way to tell to all people that bitcoin or cryptocurrency is spread and there are a few people on that place that use it. maybe we should exercise this to help btc to be spread more and also we can do this as always to the country that lack of knowledge about bitcoin.

This is so cool! Thank you for the idea and for spreading awareness about Bitcoin. Somehow, they will really do their own research after that. I think if we will have a card that shows a golden Bitcoin logo on it, that will be very convincing or showing our mobile phones with QRcode scanner.

This is so true. After a single question, curiosity will run through their mind and that is what brings them to take action to be knowledgeable about it. Learning and spreading a word comes from a single question, and that is what expands the community we have right now.

Once I tried this way to push people to accept Bitcoin, but no one accepts payments in Bitcoin at that time. A couple of months ago my one of my village mate opened a coffee and burger shop, then I asked him to accept Bitcoin payment through the Coinbase, he smiled and accepted my crypto payment. It was a new experience for both of us and good thing is, by seeing him taking crypto as payment some other shop owner started to do the same. So, OP, I agree with you, we should do it regularly.

I do like this idea! It is a pretty simple but effective way to raise awareness about bitcoin and cryptocurrencies in general. May I ask how many people you have asked yet?

In my country, paying for bitcoin every time I buy something is still very difficult. Almost all daily expenses are paid in cash. If you ask: can i pay with Bitcoin? Certainly the answer will be no. Some people invest in digital money but not everyone knows it.

Oh yeah, I love this initiative. This is extremely helpful to the Bitcoin community itself. It will help the adoption and you are right that a single question can reach dozen of people since they will become curious about Bitcoin once they hear that, especiall you asking it for payment.
Good job! Keep it up!!!
This is one of the reasons I believe the "Merit" system hasn't really been used properly. If you actually acknowledged this " Oh yeah, I love this initiative. This is extremely helpful to the Bitcoin community itself in your comment, what stopped you from meriting that post then? You don't have spendable merit, like I do? Well, to the other issue - this should serve as a caveat though. Before you ask if the shop or business allows for payment with Bitcoin, make sure you have some in a wallet in case the response is " Yes!" So you don't end up looking embarrassed.

Yes, it is annoying when people don't use merits. Noone should have merits they should have spent them long ago like as soon as they get them. I don't have any merits which is the other problem. Those who hand out merits should get them often and become merit sources. There need to be more merit sources. You make good posts sometimes and no one even reads them. The same situation with asking shops about bitcoin. People need to do their bit to help. I ask about bitcoin even when I know they have no idea what I am talking about. I ask the waitress and waiter if they want a bitcoin tip. xD

Great initiative, a natural way to raise awareness about Bitcoin. It may look an absurd thing to someone who doesn't know but soon enough they'll get curious about it then the topic will definitely goes from one mouth to another and be included in a family or friend discussions.

Instead of waiting to be asked about it, tell them about it instead. Interesting... I seriously haven't thought about this OP, but I am sure gonna give it a try. Funny enough, some outlet might be collecting Bitcoin as a payment method but because they are not been asked, they can't tell.

i commend anyone who is willing to do this. i'm too embarrassed to do it myself, especially because i mostly deal with cashiers who aren't in a position to affect any real change. they just look at me like i'm crazy.
however, i do have a friend who owns a retail business and i've been quietly prodding him to accept bitcoin and/or install an ATM for a few years. he seems to be getting increasingly interested in bitcoin as an investment asset, so i might be able to convince him yet.

Great, you should go with this method, because if it is not sponsored, there will never be a change, and it is very important that there is a good rumor about bitcoin. We should all do it, it certainly helps bitcoin. I have no s-merit, but thank you for this topic.

What good rumor about bitcoin can be brought about asking only the question if they are accepting bitcoin as payment? The thing it can give is the question of "what is bitcoin" that they will spread with their colleagues/friends, and not a rumor that can tell of what exactly is bitcoin. @OP, it is a good piece of advice, since spreading a word about bitcoin is an effective way to expand its use especially in payment options/methods.

Eventhough I have been there long time ago, I never asked in any store if I can pay using bitcoin. Not because I don't want to use my bitcoin but it is not yet popular to my place. Merchandise and Malls use other ecoin wallet but not with crypto. However, it is good also to initiate like what you had did OP. You are an eye opener for the future development and awareness of cryptocurrency.

The thing that you are doing will have a huge impact to our community in terms of economy. If they say no in your question, they will probably gonna ask their manager what bitcoin is and someone is requesting it as a payment for the products that they want to buy. In that case, our community will go bigger as well as the price of bitcoin.

Salute to what you do bro Awareness about bitcoin is currently very minimal because everyone is only focused on the price of a Bitcoin only. In my opinion, no matter how high the price of bitcoin is, if awareness of the use of bitcoin is formed it will not be a problem because it will be easier for people to save bitcoin and use it for transactions.

Employees will tell their colleagues about it, including the manager because they are curious about it. In that way, we can help to share the word bitcoin, its possible users may come in just a question like this.

So your country is not yet fully open about crypto currencies because here in our country even if our government didn't legalize yet the use of crypto currencies, our local exchange let us use crypto currencies freely like paying different kind of bills using bitcoin but right now our local exchange let us store only bitcoin, ethereum, xrp and bch. What I am looking in the future is our government will fully legalize crypto currencies so the people will become more aware about it as right now I can see that only 30% of our total population is aware about crypto currencies and less than 20% only that are into crypto currencies.

yes i really appreciate your actions op. so that at least people who initially did not understand about bitcoin will ask and find information about bitcoin. and if that person is interested in bitcoin then op has succeeded in getting people to join the cryptocurrency. the more people who know bitcoin the better. it will make the bitcoin community bigger and stronger. and can also increase demand for bitcoin..

yes, his action can help us too, many business people will be intrigue with bitcoin, it can be a way for them to be unique among its competitors, they will gain more customer or clients, because there are few resto or establishments that are accepting bitcoins, hoping that here in us they would accept bitcoin and other altcoins for me to pay for my orders, it could be a comfort.
