NO BUSINESS EVER SELLS ANYTHING IN BITCOIN....

The question you are REALLY asking is:   Can you go to the time and expense of CONVERTING my BitCoin into US Dollars for me.

If you like BitCoin so much, do it yourself, why ask some business to convert it for you ?

No business will PRICE their merchandise in Bitcoin, that would be unworkable.   Seriously, could you imagine a Toyota Camry priced as 3 bitcoins ??   Sometimes it would be a total bargain, and other times it would be so overpriced no one would buy.

All business buy, sell,  pay their employees, and make their deposits in US Dollars.

WISE UP people...

Each block is stacked on top of the previous one. Adding another block to the top makes all lower blocks more difficult to remove: there is more "weight" above each block. A transaction in a block 6 blocks deep (6 confirmations) will be very difficult to remove.

Truly such questions make the vendor or the business owners to go in search of finding more about cryptocurrencies. By this way we can see more shops and services add bitcoin payment gateway along with the common payment support. In most of the stores people have begun to add the term bitcoin accepted, but it is very rare to see.

But no matter how often we ask this question, if the jurisdiction of a particular country is still not allowing bitcoin transaction, this will not be effective in the short run. But if we could consider longer time, bitcoin will definitely be known more and more if we always fo this kind of initiative. Maybe, the jurisdiction will change if they see huge demand out of it.

Me and my friends go over to asking the staff every time we have to pay a bill somewhere at the checkout if we can pay with Bitcoin. Of course the answer is always no. We are much more concerned with raising awareness among the general public about cryptocurrencies and Bitcoin in particular. Because we often see that shortly after this question, employees tell their colleagues about this presence, and they will almost certainly do so at home.  A single question can reach dozens of people and Bitcoin is becoming more aware.

So: go out and invest those few seconds during each payment process to push the Bitcoin!

The problem I've seen with this is that no one actually cares to pay in Bitcoin. There's plenty of IRL retail stores I've spent Bitcoin at. A lot, in fact. And whenever I ask them about how often Bitcoin is actually used there, they usually say I'm the first person in 3 months, 6 months or maybe the first person in history in a few occasions to ever spend Bitcoin.

Bitcoiners, when it comes to retail in my experiences, talk a lot about wanting acceptance but do literally zero when it comes to actually spending it.

Last year everytime I went into some PC stores to buy some parts for my desktop I usually ask the cashier if they accept bitcoin but the answer is always "NO" majority of them doesn't know about bitcoin until this year sad truth, I think most businesses today wont used bitcoin because of its volatility and transaction issues, lighting network is here but not totally proven to be very effective in terms of security it will take time until we convince most businesses to use btc as another mode of payment for daily transactions.

for now I think bitcoin is the best for investing, besides the lack of bitcoiner, I think when the price of bitcoin goes down like now, bitcoiner is a pity to spend bitcoin because retail prices are still based on fiat money, except if prices are at a peak, it might be a different story

I won't do that. At least, I need to wait for more years before I can ask, "Can I pay in Bitcoin here?". That is because I cannot find a local store that accepts bitcoin as the payment. I would instead ask the staff if I can pay using a debit card than ask about bitcoin. I don't want to see the staff feel weird if I am asking about bitcoin because he will think about what kind of bitcoin are?

Besides that, I prefer to save the bitcoin that I got, and sold at a higher price than to use to buy something or pay something. I feel that I should keep the bitcoin in my wallet and convert it into fiat money, so I can use it to buy my daily needs. But well, if there is a local store that accepts bitcoin, perhaps, I will try to ask someday.

hmmm .. this is actually a pretty good way to promote bitcoin payments in many countries.  But first we have to read the laws about crypto in the country where we live.  because in my country they prohibit direct crypto transactions like that, the payment will make you easily go to jail for many years.  Those are the things to keep in mind before asking for payment by bitcoin or crypto.

Once we start the New Year I propose myself to do this at least once in every store I get in. This is exactly how we can create adoption by the law of demand. If there is demand there should be offer. Wink
Once the store managers would find out about the demand of the customers to pay in Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies they will certainly look into ways to accept that method of payment - no doubt about that, but we need enough people to do this.
I'll join with you mate. Now I realized how fool I am for I haven't do such thing before. To be honest, I only seek for signages of "We accept BTC" every time I see stores along the roadand  without even trying to ask them first — My bad. I'll be more courageous from now on Smiley. If I found nothing then at least I am able to enlighten them and who knows they'll do further research regarding this new tech.

I used to be able to donate to humanitarian activities with the bitcoin that I have.
however, there are not many donors who know bitcoin so payment methods using bitcoin are removed from the platform.
I hope the future government can support this social activity.

Love this idea, I'll definitely bear it in mind next time I buy something in store.

Might also be a good idea to simply mention cryptocurrency rather than Bitcoin though, since this exposes them to broader net of the market.

Seems like a pretty positive initiative to help spread the word about cryptocurrency. What not a better way than to have a conversation with your local merchants about the potential benefits and use of cryptocurremcy.
Every now and then whilst out walking around downtown (I don't go often), I see a shop or two with a sign within the window, saying "Bitcoin accepted as payment ". now if that doesn't make you feel like adoption is happening I don't know what will, albeit it seems painstakingly slow.

It will really create great impact to the society, very simple to do but when all of us will do it, we will create massive marketing towards Bitcoin as it will create awareness to the people. Hope that everyone of us will do the same, I am also sharing updates to my social media so that my friends even though won't ask me about it  will be confused and for sure some of them will do their own research.

It's probably one of the best line I've read to promote Bitcoin, and actually have done it in one online shop but although they have read about it, they don't have the knowledge to integrate or trade it because of lack of education, but it's a good way for merchants to get aware of Bitcoin and if many people are going to ask, it will set his curiousness.

maybe it's a good idea, done in developed countries that support bitcoin, but for my country, it can't be done, because there isn't anything at all about bitcoin yet, and surely they don't understand what we're saying .. !!
One thing is that they are all reluctant to invest or to even accept bitcoin as a form of payment because of it's high volatility, this might not mean that they don't know about it. I mean, bitcoin's name is everywhere nowadays and it's hard to believe that anyone wouldn't have some form of surface level knowledge at the very least regarding bitcoin. So we just need to wait until bitcoin becomes a little stabler and people as well as merchants will come accepting it.

wow nice initiative you have there op  .  you are one of those few people that are willing to spread the good word about bitcoin and cryptos  . one thing i dont understand  , you said they always said no ? which means your place dont support any cryptos   ? by the way on what place your living   ?  or maybe you live on farther areas  ( away from the city ) where cryptos are mainly accepted  . same to my place  . btc is accepted on our country but mostly on major regions or cities   .

I have been doing this particular thing every time we go out and surprisingly, there are merchants who are now accepting Bitcoin as payment in our country. It will also spread awareness where they will have the curiosity about Bitcoin as a mode of payment. However, some users still prefer holding their Bitcoin instead of using it but it is still wise to inform merchants that Bitcoin as a mode of payment is still convenient to use.

Have done this in the past with many restaurants of my city but they were hesitant to accept because of the fluctuations. Only one or two shop managers thought about implementing Litecoin because of the fees but when they couldnt understand the market and couldnt hold for a day or week when the price went down, they stopped accepting it. For a month we enjoyed paying LTC.
