Purposes to play gambling, except being rich

I'm just curious about what people think about their main purposes to play gambling. Usually, we only know that people play gambling because they expect to be rich (earn money). Are there any other common purposes of a gambler why he/she plays gambling daily? Let me know what your purposes are, mate. Thanks

There are many purposes for which people get into gambling, some of them could be passing time, having fun , spending time with friends and etc. i personally got into gambling through bunch of friends and we used to gamble everyday with small blinds as it was not about earning but having fun with the game and experience.

OP should probably consider adding "to just try my luck"... that could take away lots of the votes going to "have fun... ".
Well, I do not want to believe that so many people gamble to have fun. The problem with this is that if you begin to experience less fun at home, office, work, (basically outside of the gambling environment), you will likely seek gambling as a way out of the lack of fun, and probably become addicted, especially if the fun outside of the gambling environment continues to be inadequate.

As long as we can manage our money and time in gambling, we will not get addicted to gambling because we can limit the money and time, and we know how to stop gambling.

This is the problem.

In our place, there are a lot of people that can't manage their money well so they usually spend it on something that is not that special or just waste it on betting. They think gambling is something that can make someone rich quickly not adding the fact that they can be lost and can be addicted to it. Despite them not being addicted, they do not spend their money wisely, I think that is the problem.

you cannot stop them from doing such because it is their money and life that wasted,but you must do anything to prevent yourself from being one of them.

i don't blame people who becomes addicted because sometimes it is their call and sometimes they have no option in life but to gamble.

we must be thankful that we are not one of them and we manage to live life to the fullest and our family is our life.

If they're addicted I think it was an specific decisions that's why they fell on that situation. Don't ever blame someone, but yourself on how you face those consequences in life. Probably you'll get over someday after realizing the effect of your wrong actions actually.

You are right to some extent as you personally is responsible for your acts. So we should remain wise while taking  decision about gambling make sure you are in senses. Spend for gambling  if you choose it as a profession. It is way to make money so we should work on it and collect some skills for it. We can use gambling as both way to make money and to enjoy our time.

There is a contradicting in your statement mate,you have mentioned first that you dont want to get rich but you wanted to win everytime you played?you are saying you dont want to get rich because your budget is limited but if given a chance to have more budget?i am sure you will seek to become richer.

My goal is to make regular money every month. I know this doesn't sound easy because most people can win on a gambling site but they also suffer a huge loss. This is a huge risk that I have to take. I also bet more often on sports these days because it's easier for me to predict . And I can cash out if the match results do not match my predictions

Be careful with a goal like that. In many cases gambling addiction starts from such goals. Yes, this is a huge risk, as you said it yourself, but you don't have to take it. Unless you are Tom Dwan owing millions USD to Triad (as it is said in one contemporary fairy tale), you don't have to take that risk. Gamble for entertainment, and find a good job to make regular money every month.

The reason playing gambling is just for fun or just for entertainment will be better suited for those who have a lot of money or when they have a lot of money and if they experience defeat it's not a problem, but for those who don't have a lot of money, their goal is to get money and to fulfill their needs and must win the bet.
so it all depends on their circumstances for different reasons.

Yes, that is my reason also why I gamble because of this list, it is true indeed that I can be rich thru this and the good thing is, I did not only get the money that I wanted but also it improves me, my way to analyze things, my strategies, my math skills and my patience above all. There are rich people who are not seeking profit in gambling, they are just wasting their money for their enjoyment. I'm a type of gambler who seek both fun and profit but fun is overwhelmed than earning profit. I do no want to spend most of my money in gambling and that is why I place a limitation when I gambling my money. There is also specific time that I needed to follow for me to have a limitation and for me to not get addicted to it.

Considering gambling just for fun was only for that purpose of entertainment, but what's in reality was gambling in return for lucky winning profit. More people won't notice that they're doing it for fun but in long term they usually resulted with addiction.
