Hi guys,

Im openning a discussion about multivendor marketplace https://www.bwcmarket.com which i just recently opened.
I would like to make it user friendly as much as possible, so right now im looking for any usefull suggestions and advices.
Looks like many people from all over the world are just checking the site and im really not sure why they just leave.
Maybe its looks too empty...I like to surf the pages without ads blinking into my face.
Im also aware that im currently having chicken and egg problem with future vendors and buyers, so i woul like to solve this issue asap.
Why do you think noone registers for free membership? Is it a marketing? Im going to launch huge marketing campaigns before new year!

Thank you
Alex

That's honestly enough for me to not try to sell or buy anything and for the merchant's side, the fees could be a reason too since it's high compared to others. Also try incorporating stuff that a typical e-commerce website has like a lineup of products on the homepage (products taking space the most) in which you'll curate, more information about your company and the website (FAQ, about us, fees, etc...), SNS and so on

Definitely, marketing has a huge part, what kind are you doing rn and planning to do (if that's alright). First vendors are hard, you may wanna consider using your connections and ask them if they wanna sell in your website, you can offer them a promo or something.

Do you use any analytics?

If the visitors leave the site in <1 minute, you may have a problem with the design, either the structure or something, perhaps a web designer knows better. (I don't dislike the color but I personally find it aggressive) Did you test your website with different browsers and resolutions etc?  The footer needs to be revisited. Add social icons, FAQ, contact page and stuff like that, you know.
The map isn't working for me, even giving full permissions to the site (cookies,JS...)
Few things here and there.

If visitors stay >1 minute. You may find a problem if you know the last page before they leave.
It could be the TOS page: it could mean they disagree with something and you may be able to adapt
If it's a product category page it could be because they didn't find what they're looking (your is empty at the moment)
and so on.
Many things to conclude with visitors' activity.

This is about the website itself, then you have everything external, like marketing and promotion as @PotatoChips said, social presence and so on.

Hi Potato Chips,

Many thanks for your feedback Smiley

1. The producs are going to fill the homepage automatically when added by future vendors...The problem is that i dont have any. When the products will fill the main page, its going to look much nicer Smiley
May I ask what fees would you consider as acceptable? I dont think 8% for a free plan is high, considering that you get all the features in all plans ( i have to mention these features in details somewhere visible on site...damn) and there are no other hidden fees or expenses. For example Etsy takes 5% + some cents for every additional same product in cart. Im able to easily integrate this kind of model if people would be more happy with it. I really dont care that much. My main goal is not to becoma a millionaire, but there are expenses with this kind of site (support staff, devs,...).

2. You are talking about my company... Im a 3D generalist and this marketplace was my side project. So for now im representing it as an individual. But I was really surprised few days ago when I got a very interesting message about possible investors. So if everything goes fine, the company will be mentioned soon Smiley
Im also working on a lot of legal stuff for last two weeks and preparing pages like "Terms and conditions, Privacy policies, FAQs,... Its A LOT of work and writing besides my main work.

3. Preparing 2 large marketing campaigns on some mayor crypto marketing platforms, which will be launched soon. But you are definitely right about connections. Have thought about that before and its time to activate it.

4. Promo is coming very soon -in a day or two-...Its actually already there, but i have to make it official and visible on site.

Hi LeGaulois,

Many thanks for your feedback and suggestions Smiley

1. Im using analytics. As far as I was able to see untill now, users are active on site for more than 1min on average. Some even more than 5min.

2. I was thinking about A/B testing, which I will definitely do somewhere in near future. This way I will clearly see which UI performs best.
