What if Theymos added new Rank after Legendary?

There are some members here that beyond the required activity and merits. As we all know having 1000 merits is one of the criteria to become Legendary rank  but required activity isnt specified but will become as he gain 775 to 1030 activity. But how about those beyond and over it. Seeing some members with more than 2000 merits is highly praised for their contributions. I think they deserved new rank. I'm not saying theymos must but I'm thinking if it comes to his mind to add a new rank. If he do, what could it be called? I'm thinking Mythical which is same with the Mobile Legend Final highest ranking. How about you do you agree?

There was some talk of it when the new system first rolled out. I think it was more to set apart old school time based Legendary accounts apart from New rules Merit based Legendary accounts. I'm guessing the idea fizzled as it's a low priority implementation for the forum. I have no idea how hard something like this is to implement, but I also don't see it as necessary. Really the merit score speaks for itself.

What would be cool is the option to give yourself a custom rank title for some large amount of merit earned. I think that's currently something Donators or VIP's can do. Can't recall maybe only staff can play with that.

It would be cool, so us Legendary people would have a new sort of "goal" to achieve, but I'm afraid to say it's very unnecessary. Because of the new merit system, the Legendary rank became hard enough for most to reach. Not to mention that trust points are probably more important than rank anyway, when talking about reputation.

Ethereal? Or since this is a forum is primarily created for bitcoins, then, Bitireal, or maybe Satoshi?
There would be lots of options for names and which activity and merit level would trigger the new rank.
How about a new coin be added to the users profile summary (beside posts) for every 1000 extra merit earned, or a large platinum, or silver coin to replace all the others, so it doesn't cluster. This would be a subtle indicator of the total merits earned.

I ever saw this rank on another forum. Looks cool but I think it is no need to add on bitcointalk forum. We have already had Merit system, newbie to legendary level has been fit on it. If we add Mythical, I am worried that it will cause noise and jealousy. Finally, it will lead to another drama among high-rank members. However, everything will depend on how theymos considers the need.

I don't see that being a deterrent, the Donator level is 10 BTC and the VIP is 50 BTC. The VIP rank is the one that can have a custom title - just checked. I would be amazed if the forum ever receives another 50 BTC donation, or if anyone who could reasonably part with that amount cared if a solid contributor to the forum earned that privilege.

Either way was just a musing as I was responding to the topic. Would be cool but not something needed.

From what I can tell most high ranking members enjoy seeing others achieve these feats. I can't think of anyone [who doesn't already] who would cause drama or be jealous of others achieving this.

Well, Theymos could allow for specialized ranks.   Different activity in different areas of the forum.   Have this activity decrease slowly, so that each profile could only choose a few sections to become mythical (or whatever the name is) in.

But I agree just adding a new rank would be useless.

Those in signature campaigns perhaps. A new/higher rank could alter the payment rates in all or most campaigns. Legendary members who received little/zero merit/s might complain to the changes because they will find it hard to rank up and will no longer enjoy the highest rates/stakes.

Yes, it is one of the examples. Bounty managers may consider a small change in the payment rates. Mythical replaces Legendary for the highest rates. In addition, the payment gap between mythical and legendary rank may be quite big. So, legendary feel a bit uncomfortable because they get a smaller allocation then (I guess).

I think the position of legendary, plump at the end, may not need a rank above legendari again, this is the same as the general position when in military office.

If I were to say this proposal, maybe not a ranking that should be added.
But "AWARDS" may be suitable for members above the Legendary rank, Merits that exceed specified.

i like this idea a lot more than adding a new rank. in my opinion, the point of the ranking system is to give more privileges to older members and limit things for newer and throw away accounts. since there aren't any more privileges remaining to give, there is not much point in adding a new rank apart from aesthetics. and for that, having some awards like "most merited in x days", "have m topics receiving top merits",...

I agree with the idea.
We have some users with more than 3000 merits.
Those members who have 1000 airdropped merits and have stuck in 1000 shouldn't have a same rank as those who have earned more than 3000 merits.
I also agree with YOSHIE's idea.
A kind of badge can be used for recognition of users who have more than 2000 merits.

I can't find my post on this subject, so I'll just repeat what I (think I) said before:
-I vote for the name Legend. It's simple, and makes Legendary look a bit like "Legend-ish", while Legend sounds like "the real thing".
-It should probably require at least 2000 Activity and 2000 Merit. BPIP is down, so I can't easily find all users who would qualify, but I expect it to be only a handful.
-I don't expect a new rank to be added as long as only theymos himself and a handful of other users qualify.

Adding UI elements is very "expensive" in the sense that it's something to which every member constantly has to devote some brainspace. So I can't see adding any kind of split merit score or other UI element, since that'd be a permanent high cost as a result of a one-time thing in the past.

KING : like a Michael Jackson and Elvis Presley who is the King of Pop and King of Rock

MASTER : have Member and Sr Member, why we don't have Master.

STAR Legendary : i think this rank only for the 10 Top Legendary with the highes merit.
