MEW Returned Error: The execution failed due to an exception.

I was about to withdraw some tokens from my MEW but this error keeps on popping out. "Returned Error: The execution failed due to an exception." It keeps me from making withdrawals.

Did anybody ever experience this error? What does this error mean and how did you resolve it?

did your wallet has ethereum for the GAS transaction?

I think this has something to do with the fee. Did you pay the recommended fee(gas)?

Try replacing it with more than and let us see if the transaction will proceed successfully.

I have enough gas. I also thought at first that this has something to do with gas but apparently it is not.

The error is changing from "Returned Error: The execution failed due to an exception." to "Transaction has been reverted by the EVM." 

The status of the transaction is this: "Fail with error 'SafeMath: subtraction overflow'".  If you hover on the status it says "A Status code indicating if the top-level call succeeded or failed (applicable for Post BYZANTIUM block only)."

did you just want to create a new token in the testnet?
after a few searches, i found this article https://ethereum.stackexchange.com/questions/58986/transaction-has-been-reverted-by-the-evm
the error he receives is the same as you. Maybe this article can help you fix the error

the last time I used MEW last year , now I'am using ICOVO for transfer token from my wallet.
You can using ICOVO ( Available for android and iOS app ) you just sign your wallet with privat key from MEW .

I can't recall if that was the problem that I've encountered before but with the transaction status that you've got, I don't have anything to suggest anymore. I think this can be figured out by the Ethereum folks and tech guys that are on their thread.

When I had this kind of error, usually it's because of the fee. I didn't have enough gas to transfer some tokens from mew. But I recalled for once I still had the problem eventhough I'm using fee above the mininum gas, been a while since then. I think it has something to do with the contract address or something. Forgot what happened after that though since it's been a while.

Is there a possiblity that the token you're trying to withdraw is locked? Well, just saying that.

if the token still locked your transaction will be failed and your token will be back to you then the error will not be shown like that

Where did you get the error is it from web browser and directly to myetherwallet or you get this error from MEW on mobile?

If you are getting this error from mobile try to reinstall the wallet clear cache and check it again. But if you get the error directly MEW website try to use incognito mode and make a transaction again.

I have experience the same error a month ago, I kept increasing the gas fee but the error remains. Surprisingly the gas I paid were deducted while the transaction didn't go thru.  I move to a newer browser an updated google chrome and I'm not sure about its relation but my transaction went through. I'm not sure if its related to the token to be sent either but I have to say its not making MEW users easy.

oh come on buddy , just use metamask by import your private keys and you should be fine. honestly , since MEW have new graphic , i got a little bit confusion. so i just using metamask or TrustWallet from my phone.

Indeed, have been a long time to not use MEW. I have some coins that I need to choose long term investment and I kept it on MEW. But recently I tried to open it because some coins that I had are increasing in price and it has made me tempted to sell them.

But, I don't how to run MEW with the new rule. I tried to open my wallet through Prikey and I have store it in the right place. And you know what? I had been several time to open but it is useless. They aren't allow me to open the wallet and I was only advised to open my wallet in offline. And I just stuck and I can't open my wallet correcly.

if you want to open your wallet using private key i think it will be good if you use mycrypto.com
because mycrypto is a team from the people that left MEW

i didnt knew this facts but thanks for letting me know  . i heard mycrypto before and a couple of people already suggested it but i didnt thought that it was a good site since the team are are mew's ex employee  .  still using a private key is risky no matter what site your using not just mew , that is why experts always advice to use metamask as an alternative to private keys  . about the error i also think that its because of the low fee as i also encountered it before  .
