I think that before the New Year for bettors like me who mostly bet on sports there are not a lot of options except the Premier League.I was afraid to bet yesterday and I was wrong because all Premier League big teams won and even Manchester United won yesterday.I will bet tomorrow again and hope to make some extra money for the New Year.

If you believe in your instincts then dont gamble at all. Nobody is forcing you to play because in the end its your decision to play. Like every other game of chances gambling can end up with a big win or a big loss. Dont let the depression of older losses make you lose some more money on the first days of the year.

Or maybe you didnt learn anything from the last years losses and want to repeat them the next year too? No offense but thats what gamblers have been doing all the time.

Well, it's necessary to minimize gambling so we still have more time to spend for people that are important to us.
Even with our work, we don't focus our time a lot with our work as we only live once in this world, we also need to give time to our family.

based on my experience, when you are addicted that's the time you can't control your time with gambling but if you are responsible enough, it's not easy to control yourself to just gamble occasionally, that's what I am doing now.

How are you so sure you will start the new year with loss? That's been pessimistic. Having this type of negative mindset is what brings in failure when you least expect it.

Anyways, to your question; I haven't gambled and don't intend to gamble till the end of this year and that's because I have less enthusiasm towards it. Spending perfect time with family is what I prefer this holiday. And I won't be starting my new year with gambling either, it is part of a new year resolution I am working on.

It's because there will always be no assurance in gambling, no one is capable on predicting the outcomes of your decisions and actions. If you're in doubt and hesitating to take the risk then don't because you are just wasting your own time and money if your mind is not in a proper condition to make choices. We can't change the fact that some gamblers are being greedy that is why they always end up losing and after that they will feel remorse about it but then they will repeat doing the same mistake even if they have experienced losing, they keep on taking the risk without even thinking the possible result of it and they don't analyze things. New year is coming and I hope that they will realize how gambling affects them as a person because there is a possibility that your money will be wasted for nothing. Gambling isn't bad, actually it is fun and enjoyable but it also have positive and negative effects on you. Regarding that, i'll not gamble because I will cherish every moment to enjoy with family because they are usually busy and we don't even have time to talk even when we are living on the same house that is why this year I promised to myself that i'll just bond with them because after that day they will be busy again with their works.

Surely whenever you do gambling it is always a big risk in your money so I think it doesn't matter if you going to play anyway.
But I think it is better just to spend it on something more valuable or spend it on your family since its Christmas and new year it will surely going to give a smile to your family.
My point is gambling is always risky so I think you could always play here and not expect to always win.

Doesn't really make much difference except psychologically. I'd rather gamble before the year ends and not gamble for a while after New Year's. That way I feel like I'm starting on a blank slate.

Of course if you are planning to quit might as well start at loss so it makes you feel bad and hopefully that serves as a deterrent.

It's just your choice. However, in my opinion, gambling is just a way of making money, not a way of making money.  That is my personal opinion.

I guess you want to start the year with a win in hopes that your gambling continues to be profitable or in wins this year. Well, I'm not sure if this works in gambling (especially the luck-based ones) considering that you have no control over the outcome of games. So, you could well start the year with failing in a luck-based game & still continues to fail.. it doesn't really matter. You have no control over the games outcome.

What's the difference if you gamble before or after new year though? Does it make any difference? I'm thinking about that because I heared that there is a chinese belief that after new year, your money shouldn't be spent otherwise you will not save money for your entire year. Some of my relatives believe and that but I don't since it depends on you if you'll allow that to happen or not.

We also have Chinese influenced part in our family but I don't believe on it, we are living with technology there is no need to believe on old beliefs hence nothing will costs you if you believe on superstitious. But I guess there will be a difference on gambling in new year's eve in terms of number of players since that is a time to spend with the family and relatives. Very interesting to have some great opinions from others about putting bet or gamble during the eve of new year. Its quite tough for gamblers to keep themselves far from placing their bet or gamble during new year when almost all popular platform announce different offers and bonuses for their user. Its a common trick to attract gamblers during new year celebration. I don't think every gambler have similar kind of preparation for new year. Someone make plan to quit gambling and not to waste more money where some others have plan to make some profit at the beginning of the new year.

My grandpa always suggest me to start the first day of every new year with some best works which i like most. As his suggestion the work i will do in the first day will repeat through the whole year. This time my plan is to spend the whole day with my family and bitcointalk community friends.

Definitely not gonna gamble during new year. Not a good way to start the year especially if it's a loss. So as long as I can, I will avoid playing new year. New year maybe one of those superstitious belief I am doing or still believing. It's accustomed in our culture. Also, it's better to start a year with fresh mindset and not thinking of stressful doing. It really feels good. I was thinking of gambling at the very last date of December but it would all depend upon my schedule though as for trying my luck before they year closes. i dont think that there will be people that are going to be alone when new years eve kicks in because new year was usually noisy cause of fireworks and other materials just to make noise so people usually go out to join the happenings too  .

they can still concentrate playing a gambling   . and like the other guy said , people also spend more on the stufs related to new year  so they will end up empty handed but what more important is they give thier best to make new year a bang  .

If you are celebrating alone it might be a good past time to gamble before or even in the new year. However, for me, I would rather spend it with my family. It did not even cross my mind to gamble during the holiday season because in our country Christmas and New year is the most important time for the family.

I sense fear here. Why not just take a break, spend the holidays with other people and gamble when the celebration is over. Gambling will not go away but the time to spend with family and friends will.

Not all people are the same, so expect some that will not care about New Years celebration. They rather lock themselves in a room ang gamble.

I bet after new year. Because new year only 3 days left and i don't think will gamble at that time. Maybe my focus for now give my family a quality time, and not much online. Maybe sometime to open my trading or just look my order in market about btc if reach price that i want to buy.

Since Christmas and New year celebrations are just close with each other, I'd prefer to do it after the two holidays ended. Because there's a lot of extra expenses for the celebration like foods, gifts and gambling extra money is not a good one to prepare myself for all the expenses. I might just end up losing the money when I could just use it for buying foods.
