I have many erc20 tokens that I got from the bounty campaign and hope that when bitcoin goes up altcoin will follow the price. I know now most of the erc20 tokens are dead because long bear market but I am still waiting for everything to come back.
I am hoping everything will turn around as well but I do hope you are holding on to promising tokens? This way your tokens won't die while holding them |

People hate on a ton of alts in general because there's really not a lot of (especially new) good projects coming out and prospering in these current market conditions. It's certainly a good time to accumulate larger altcoins in preparation for a future bull run, but the fact that the vast majority of altcoin projects will never have any useful use-case or adoption makes it understandable for me why a lot of people shit on altcoins. I don't blame them, though, because I'm not buying any newer alts either at the moment.

You are truly right here, mate! People love to mock altcoins but they can't see the fact! Though ETH, EOS, LTC price should be higher than the present price comparing Bitcoin at 7K USD, but yet they are not doing very bad! If someone buys a shitcoin then he will get rekt without any doubt! But potential altcoins are assets in crypto and we need it for the Bitcoin!

I will start hating altcoins only when bitcoin raise up to 20,000$ and altcoins fail to move up as well, many people are putting blames on altcoins today as if bitcoin is not in loss itself, the ATH of btc was 20k and now it's trading for 7,000+ thats like 12,000$ lost please how will this not affect other altcoins as well? Top altcoins will surely lose value as well, to me this present loss of altcoins are positive, look at coins like LTC, EOS, BNB, these coins are doing fine. You will only have problem if you invest in crap altcoins
I think this is temporary. Altcoins can, under good conditions and development, outperform bitcoin in price. It's just that this is not the time for altcoins. |

Altcoins didn't fail to move when bitcoin was reaching new all time high in 2017, In fact 2017 was a great year for the cryptocurrency market in general. The issue of price decreasing started showing its effect in 2018 when majority of that period, the market was red. Bitcoin can be relied on for retracing its steps back to previous all time high and even surpass it but that can't be said about altcoins on a general note as most of them will die with the bear market. Don't hate on bitcoin as it does you no good, the market follow bitcoin and not the other way round so for the market to experience success, bitcoin first has to achieve that success. First to say that 2017 was special year. Even thou bitcoin price rise was higher from 2010 to 2017 in percents, the rise from 2017 when bitcoin managed to rise from 1000 to 20000 was much more noticed. Now when I read some comments it's like nothing didn't exist before 2017! Many alts were created before 2017, and many alts are still in ROI, that means even after rise and drop in the past years current price is higher than the price at the moment they were issued! Nothing is wrong with crypto, just some people lose money because they invested too late, or too early, who would know. There will be always someone who is on the losing end, and probably nobody can help them, what we need to make sure is to be on the winners side. |

basically alts are better investment than bitcoin, if you choose the right ones..
they'll probably earn you more BTC while Bitcoin will you only more $
but its much more risky game
and have to diversify portoflio between alts and bitcoin

It's just the way these alts dip when BTC is growing or when it's dipping that makes people turn away from it. The good ones are obviously the best to invest into for great profits. But one needs to be careful else, all the funds will be lost.

Then you just have to choose the best and higher profitable altcoin in the market. The most common failure that investors and traders are just because of coins selection, they usually look into the price but not it's market volume. If we are good at this, we could assure that we can still make money. |

Nothing is absolutely wrong with Altcoin aside market fail and many fake Altcoins out there, so once bitcoin increases there's certainty other good altcoins will increase and despite the market condition, some altcoins are doing better above token sale price.

if Bitcoin does not rise and even continues to decline then Altcoin will continue to be affected, quantitatively very detrimental to long-term holders and this of course is very wrong. I'm not talking only about bad altcoin, but almost all altcoins can only surrender to the Bitcoin trend, altseason still hasn't come yet and is causing a lot of anxiety.

I don't think the price of Bitcoin is currently stable. People love to save Bitcoin because we think the price of Bitcoin will soar in the future according to many predictions. Altcoins still depend on the price of Bitcoin so much, it can always be stuck in bearisk season when bitcoin moves, so it is very dangerous to buy altcoins when we are dreaming about future bitcoin prices. |

Now this is where the problems rise if you are not checking all the coins in your portfolio, if they deserve to be there at all, 2019 we saw how all these altcoins get huge a pump even shitcoins can make you rich overnight but one year is enough to make investors matured on how the market performs, so shitcoins will not goingto get a pump anymore. |

just look at the plus side if bitcoin goes down and the top altcoin goes down, then we have a chance to buy altcoin at a low price. and true, if you see litecoin, eos, neo, xlm, or ripple, they are in a favorable condition for trading even if not in large numbers but at least not lose. so instead of quietly waiting for bitcoin and altcoin fixed up, wait for the investment by trading on altcoin such as ltc, neo, eos, xlm, ripple, or doge.

There is wrong if the price of altcoins goes down -90%. It seems that the coins lose interest and popularity in the market. Be careful on what altcoins that we are holding, there are altcoins that can recover but there are altcoins that will not recover anymore and that altcoins can be considered as shitcoins. It is our own fault if we bought worthless altcoins so we should pick carefully. |

altcoin that does not have a product and a large community, so they cannot survive, this is like a natural law, they are not able to adapt, so thrown out of battle. so when bitcoin rises, they are unable to follow it, due to the lack of trust from investors
Many altcoins have better working products backing them and good use cases as well, I don't have to start mentioning names but I am surprised this is coming from a full member on this forum. |

You made a valid point, the value of altcoin is greatly dependent on the value of Bitcoin. Some altcoin are doing just fine as you mentioned, though we recorded some loss and secondly, bitcoin seems to be the dominant crypto in the coin market as it holds about 70% of the market presently. |
