Hathor's technology is a natural evolution of Bitcoin's blockchain. Instead of arranging the transactions in a Merkle Tree inside the blocks, we arrange the transactions in a DAG--outside the blocks--which are confirmed by the blocks. Our blocks are lightweight and super fast to sync in the p2p network, even with thousands of nodes. Thanks to this design, we can scale to thousands of transactions per second.  Moreover, Hathor has potentially the same security as Bitcoin. It is a crypto with a scalable data structure for transactions.

Our architecture is based on the Ph.D. thesis of Hathor's founder Marcelo Brogliato, and it is a completely novel architecture. Public and open-source, with anyone welcome to join.

Why another Blockchain?

Hathor is a scalable tokenization platform. Filling out a form is all it takes, your token should be ready for use in less than a minute. There is no need to compile, configure or even program a smart contract. You don't need to know about "gas", "solidity", or "ERC 20" paraphernalia.

Creating a new token to explore a new use case must be just as trivial and mundane as taking a photo. You can take a thousand pictures and choose the best. Remember the old days when we had to develop the photos? Everything had to be perfect at the moment of the shot or costly errors would appear way later on. It must be the same for new tokens. You create 20 different tokens and keep only the best; you play around with new use case scenarios. The whole community can use Hathor in the search for the killer apps for blockchains, the most profitable ones, the most charitable ones, and so forth.

We think it is a grave error to assume the current state of affairs as some form of finality of blockchain evolution. Great use cases are about to be discovered if we unleash the right tool. The missing piece to unveil a token revolution is a scalable platform in which any 13-years-old kid can create their own token for fun, and also capable of handling all these future transactions. And we are developing this missing piece.

How to mine?

Anyone can mine blocks in Hathor's network. Our mining is Proof-of-Work using SHA256d (same as Bitcoin). We also support Merged Mining with Bitcoin, i.e., you can mine Hathor and Bitcoin at the same time. For further information, check out this link: https://hathor.network/resources/mining-tools/

What are Hathors (HTR)?

Hathor (HTR) is the native unit of account of the Hathor Network, created as a utility token needed to access the decentralized capabilities of our technologies.

Where did the first batch of Hathors (HTR) come from?

The first 1 billion HTRs were created during the public launch of our network. In technical terms, they were encoded, or ”pre-mined”, in the Genesis Block, the first one generated ever and still enforced by the thousands of new blocks generated by current miners each day.

The pre-mined tokens will be distributed as follows:

- Team & Founders: 10%
- Advisors: 5%
- Pre-sale: 5%
- Operational expenditure: 60% (40% team + 20% others)

After 16 months of development [1], we are going to launch Hathor's mainnet. The launch is going to happen today at 18:15, celebrating Bitcoin's mainnet 11th anniversary.

Yes, it will be launched today at 18:15 UTC. You can join our Discord to follow the launch.

There are no pool yet, but there are multiple ways you can mine: (i) connect your miner to our Hathor's Stratum Server (you'd need to use our ccminer or cgminer software); (ii) run a local full node and connect your miner to it; or (iii) setting up your mini-merged mining pool (including a Hathor's full node, a Bitcoin full node, and the merged mining coordinator pool).

We are working on guides/tutorials for setting up your full node or miner.

We have more videos showing how to use Hathor's blockchain.

You can also create a token through Hathor Desktop Wallet where you have administrative tools, such as mint/melt tokens.

Our mainnet has just been launched so we cannot prove that it can handle hundreds of transactions. If you'd like to, you can run a testnet in test mode with as many nodes you want, and use our random transaction generation tool to test the network capacity.

Looking forward to the unlock schedule and chart for circulating supply. The tokenomics is still giving me pause for thought. The two decimal place was almost about invalidating the concern until I saw the unlimited supply.
So for the first year, the protocol will be approx. 67m HTR will be mined?

Does anyone know who the miner/pool is merge mining on BCH? Right now there is a lot of hash rate on BCH with the tag "Hath" so I assume that is a merge miner for hathor.
I'm trying to find who this is to speak to them, as BCH is currently under attack and it's important that the miners don't run the wrong software. also from BCH: we're observing quite a few of empty blocks on the network from /Hath/, which is quite annoying - appreciate the @EuroLine link, but that pool seems to be a minority on hath network per his charts
if there's any pointers to another pool we can try to contact it'll be highly appreciated.

Before you seriously take into consideration about mining this coin, evaluate if this is worth mining.
Though the above exchange is showing active trading currently at price of $0.12, however, the team should be active here.
We don't have any idea about their development updates. Not a member of their social media channel though.
