In the near future the internet can be free all over the world. Now the internet is a necessity such as water, air. We have many accessories that make people half-robots. Most importantly, the phone can't live without it anymore. Internet cannot be disconnected. It doesn't make sense to imagine a world without an Internet. Bitcoin is now the official currency of this world.

Considering the nature of the Blockchain technology, there is no way to make Bitcoin transactions offline. The entire Bitcoin network runs on  a decentralized ledger called the blockchain which is made of computers connected to each via the internet, verifying all transactions made. Without the internet, verification of transactions on the network by the decentralized ledger will not be possible.  For this offline thing, it might be very difficult for transactions to be made.

Internet serves as one of the function tools for bitcoin, this technology will never exist if there is no internet. It is a tool where it connects people wherever part in the world to make transactions, that's why taking bitcoin to transact offline is really impossible.

Being free and taking internet away is a totally different. If we say taking away, meaning to say that we will not use the service of internet anymore, but if we are to talk about free internet, it is way more better than developing a system in blockchain and cryptocurrency that never uses internet. We all know how beneficial it is for us and taking it away just for the sake of making transactions even accessible is better. With free internet, it could let us do more things even to view our portfolio.
