The user Symmetrick has been banned, so haters of this user can breathe a sigh of relief. So discussion of this issue has lost its relevance.

It seems to be an autoban for being PossiblyCompromised.

Anyone could instantly autoban themselves by setting a secret question and attempting to fill it in during login, though.

I'm guessing the ban just didn't show up in the modlog so BPIP didn't record it. If a mod didn't execute the ban, it won't show up in that log.

A few days ago, after logging into Google, I suddenly got a bpip extension alert. Since then, I can't use the bpip extension. Is there any way to fix this?

Yes, switch to Firefox browser, or some of Firefox forks like Librewolf or Zen browser.
I heard that BPIP extension still works with Brave browser for now, but this won't last for much longer.

Seemed fine from my side too. Tried accessing from my desktop and mobile device with wifi and mobile data! It works as usual!

Yes, Mahiyammahi was right about the issue with BPIP. I visited BPIP on July 30 after Mahiyammahi made that post and I remember I got a blank page same as him.
Now, the website is working well without any problem and it seems that was a temporary issue.

After the changes made to the forum to not show the last login, isn't bpip.org a bit of a 'snitch'? For example, if I go to ibminer's profile on the forum, I see “last active: recently”, while on bpip.org it tells me that he was active 3 days ago. To be more specific, for example, LoyceV has the same option on the forum “recently”, while on bpip.org I can see that he was active 5 minutes ago. You can see it clearly if you watch the list of most merited profiles, for example.



I don't have a strong opinion on whether a change needs to be made in this regard, and I don't know if it would take a lot of work, but I wanted to mention it to you.

Don, there is a Refresh Profile button that will sync BPIP up with the BCT profile.  If bpip shows ibminer last active 3 days ago, look at the "Last Parsed" date, and you should see that is also 3 days or later.   BPIP refreshes the profile based on profile activity, and like SM wrote, browsing is not a trackable profile stat.

Also, I was thinking that, for example, an unregistered user cannot see if someone has sent merits by entering their profile. Although it would take a few minutes to register and see it.

In the end, I see that this change that they made for privacy reasons, which caused many of us to activate the option, is not really a big change. He did it with good intentions, though.

Exactly, after writing my last post here, that came to mind. But I think it's useful and not worth changing.

That's only for DT1-users. Changes for others are harder to detect, as you'd need to include each individual user to your Trust list to monitor for changes one at a time. Or use theymos' weekly Trust data dump, but that only works once a week.

Even if that is detected and reported it would be almost insignificant since most of the membes are not changing their trust list all the time.
I don't really care about exact minutes and time when some member was last active, and I prefer what we have in forum now, but BPIP is very useful nevertheless.

I remember this member from few years ago, and his account is showing Inactive status for me, but he should probably be banned for what he did, including cheating and ban evasion.
From BPIP website I can see that he was banned but than unbanned on 10/12/2022.

I have seen this before with other profiles that have been banned before and then unbanned. The "Profile has been Autobanned" alert stays under the Security/Moderator Log. part while for other unbanned accounts it does not
I don't know whether it has anything to do with activity after the account has been unbanned.

Based on discussion on other thread, i would like to suggest page that show percentage/ratio of deleted post. For example,

Posts 4 (Rank 0 )
Posts deleted by moderators: 70 (Rank: >1000th)

The percentage is 94.59...% using this formula

There should be minimum total post and minimum total post deleted by moderator on the page, considering new account might be nuked after creating few posts.
