Does anyone know the difference between a 280x and 280 for altcoint mining (LTC)? The prices of 280x are through the roof but 280′s are still affordable. They have the same number of shaders and they seem to be marginally the same? Anyone have experience with a 280?

The 280 is a rebranded 7950. It used to be 10% ~ 15% lower performance for way lower price

I just double checked and you're right, its the same number of shaders as a 7950, not as a 280x. Has anyone tried it for mining? Same on all other fronts as a 7950?

XFX is, they're offering this as an RMA to a 7950 I have which is running over 90c as they no longer carry the 7950 or 7970.
