yes, every new year will bring new hope. in 2019 ICO has almost been replaced with IEO, so it is very likely that 2020 will be filled with IEO, and people can also easily assess the quality of the IEO, even based on where the IEO was conducted. moreover halving, ETH 2.0, Libra, and others will be available in 2020. So, 2020 can be a new hope for crypto users.

IEO still works well, but in order for the IEO to help investors make a profit, the market conditions must be really good. If the market continues to be as bad as the past few months, I think that even if we have any new forms, it is really useless. And I am also waiting for 2020 because there are so many good and positive events that this market can raise prices.

My hope for 2020 is not only to altcoin but to the whole of cryptocurrency. The whole cryptocurrency is still struggling to create a good reputation in the whole world. And while it has already achieved some nice stepping stones, it is still not in the mainstream as we would want it. There are still some few shops, restaurants, hotels, and so on that accept cryptocurrencies. There are still so few countries that acknowledge its function and existence.

My answer is No. Bitcoin is the undisputed innovation on the blockchain and the rest are all questionable. The thing that many people overlook is that most of the use cases that the altcoins claim can, in fact, be built on Bitcoin, maybe not on layer 1 but upon a higher level in the stack. If you need fast cheap transactions, then use the Lightning network. If you need to generate tokens for niche use cases, then use Liquid network. also new privacy upgrades and the use of higher-level layers will soon also render most privacy coins pointless. I think the main use case of most of the altcoins is for speculating and then trying to accumulate more Bitcoin.

Many say that after halving occurs, a new ATH will emerge because the price of bitcoin will rise to a higher level, so I don't really believe that I better see further developments compared to having to speculate continuously because it won't make you more profitable.

Yes 2019 was indeed the worst year for crypto and altcoin in general due because most of the scammers created tokens using ERC20 platform and there were a herd of sheep following them blindly and advertising for shit coins and scam projects just to get bounty rewards which were never paid or of no use even when it was paid. I hope bounty hunters as well are project owners does not repeat the same mistake again this year.

Doubtful, I would love to have an altcoin market that was healthy and in which many real projects came out and the developers really tried to build something, because in that case even if they failed they will become a warning to the rest of the projects that what they tried to achieve is simply not possible with the approach they tried to implement and that is very valuable information, but I think we will continue to see more of the same and scammers will keep doing what they do best and the interest of investors will keep declining.
