Which competitor of ETH are we talking here?  There are more than 10 of them all wanting to be the ETH killer.

Interoperability feature in some projects where introduced before I haven't really see any news about it. None of the teams who introduced it are making a remarkable announcements. Syscoin isn't the first that I heard of interoperability but the ARK team and Cardano. I'm hoping Defi will give all DEX the success it needs.

Bitcoin's monetary characteristics make it perfect to travel through other networks.

If you are the one who developer DeFi and cross-chain platform is a must. I can tell your to increase or attract the demand from people that was using another chain and you must make it available to the another chain too.
It's too early to determine if DeFi will be a very big thing this year as the majority of DeFi that exists in the market are still lack of the capability and usability.
That still needs a lot of correction too. I don't put a lot of expectation on DeFi.

At the moment, it is a fully working ecosystem with great functionality and capabilities. But I do not find a Defi discussion in the English forum.

I don't know, but in my opinion, Phore is still not worthy of being the next DeFi, because in my opinion there is a little bit that needs to be addressed. First is the exchange, I saw that phore was only listed on a small market and from there, I think there is no one in my opinion a good market, especially for Latoken, I know it is entered into an exchange with volume quite a lot but for altcoin?  that exchange is not good, and also why not follow the others? for example making an ERC20 version of phore and putting it on Dex like uniswap, just following other projects because most of them are doing it and that's a good step.

I don't know, but in my opinion, Phore is still not worthy of being the next DeFi, because in my opinion there is a little bit that needs to be addressed. It's very simple, you are used to pumps and smart contract advertising.

I beg to differ in the first two points you made. DeFi growth might not last till end of the year. Most persons will wait to get information in the investments done now. So many had invested currently they need to see results

Everybody actually expected all these from Defi but looking at things, it may not last as you expected because of lack of trust from users. Scammers have invaded and they are really scamming users alot and the trust is dying off. So I don't think what we are looking at about Defi will work out such long.

One thing about the crypto space is that, it is easy to predict about coins, it's future price, what will happen and so on, but when reality sets in, no one will remember those predictions again because everyone will then be after their own welfare and of course funds. All these predictions are somewhat good but with the way Defi projects are popping up, it might means that Defi might not last long, because attention that would have been given to the good ones are being shared by many others thus majority of investors are now seeing it as a means to make good money rather than for the use case they offers. Projects like Compound drew the massive attention but can same thing be said about other Defi projects now? Also, the prediction that many will challenge ETH looks far from happening, because ETH on its own is also looking for more ways to be better.
