Where do Locked topics on the forum move to?

I know have been on the forum for a while yeah sure do know that but that doesn't mean am not permitted to ask questions to what I definitely dont have idea about, so they say we learn new things every day and also there is this parable that says: those who asked questions when arrived at a strange place: (DONT MISS THERE WAY or DON'T GET LOST) so I took this medium to ask this quick question:

1. Where do the topics go? after a Minute I set my eyes on it and I come back again to check for that topic I won't find it

2. Who has access to locked topics in the forum apart from the creator of that topic?

Locked topics don't move. If they're locked, no one can post in them (including the owner) but they are still available to read. Either a moderator or thread creator can lock a topic. Threads can also be deleted by moderators, where they are moved to the trashcan.

There are two destination sets for topics: Trashcan, and any board in the forum. We as users can not delete our topics to trashcan. Only moderators can do so.

There are two types of locked topics: Locked by creators; locked by global moderators or admins.

The first type: it is clear that creators can have access to their locked topics when they unlock those topics.
The second type: only global moderators or admins can have access to such escalating locked topics.

People who have userscripts can get access to those locked topics and can quote. A kinda shitty script for quoting posts in locked topics

There are instances that some topics are deleted, either by its maker or by the moderators. Meanwhile, locked topics only stays on what section/board it was posted. And the fact the it was locked, it will only be pushed down by the most recent topics. Though some weren't deleted, moderators often move those topics onto Archival or Off-topic (if the post was indeed off-topic in the section it was posted)

You can still view locked topics yet no one can bump nor reply onto it depending if the thread poster unlocked the topic to provide an update (if and only if he locked it in the first place). Meanwhile, if moderators locked your topic, you cannot do anything at all (but AFAIK you can delete it)

Answer to question 1.

Off-topic replies have become a big problem. From now on, I will be deleting such replies without notice, forum-wide. If your replies disappear, this is probably why.

This is not fair to the people responding to a topic, IMO. People who reply to topics should know that if they are on-topic and they follow the rules, they will not be censored. Also, it is very annoying for reply-writers when they write long, detailed responses and then the topics become off-topic and useless.

Maintaining perfect on-topicness is difficult. In the future, discussions may be made threaded instead of flat, which will basically be like having a system that automatically creates new topics when people are posting off-topic things (in many cases).

Answer to question 2.

"Moderators" moderate specific sections. They can delete posts there, edit them, move topics, split topics, lock topics, and sticky topics. "Global moderators" are the same as moderators, but they moderate all sections. All staff can also whitelist newbies and ban newbies. Administrators can do anything.

Any user can report a post. The report is send to the admins, global moderators, and any applicable section moderators. The recipients choose to act on the report or not.

To the board where they belong to.

Altcoin related but posted on Bitcoin board goes to Altcoin Discussion and vice versa.
If it's unrelated to crypto but the post is still of good value, it usually ends up on off-topic.
If it's low-value, it goes to the trashcan.

If topic creators move their thread, you see something like this:

If it's the admin/mods, you won't see a trace.

Actually, quoting locked topics can be done also without a kinda shitty script Here you can find two options for this operation, thus avoiding the shitty script bugs. Feel free to try them, they are both working.

Not exactly right, mods/admins have the choice to leave a redirection topic or not when they move a topic.

At the beginning I let redirections, but it was polluting a bit. And when a mod/admin leaves a redirection topic, he becomes the owner of that topic (not really constructive, I didn't want to give more work to the CM ).

sometimes it's just human error and just missed the topic your looking for(happens to me from time to time). it would be nice(but not necessary) to have a feature that lets you see your last visited threads if you have trouble finding it.

topic creator can't delete the topic they created only moderators and other forum staffs can delete a thread.

Actually it would be easier to find if you posted on that thread because it will still appear on your history.

Anyway, yeah sometimes it's just a human error but most of the time that locked thread go on the next pages due to the new stockpiled of threads. But if you already reach page 5 above and find nothing then most probably it was deleted already.

That's a good feature in fairness but it could be better and more usable if it would be a notification bar because it offers same function. Plus, you can visit the posts which are quoted by someone else .

There are chances that it might be deleted if lock by the moderators if the topic was locked it might not be deleted it will not be lost.

But as so many topics also created in the section the locked topic will not get bump since it is already locked so it will just be pushed on the last page or somewhere in the ending pages.

The OP could lock his topic or the mods.

If you dont like people commenting the same thing over and over, just report the topic for locking. It'd be locked sooner or later.
