I was really surprised that there's no hype surrounding this fight, anyway, it was reported that Vargas and Garcia will be fighting for the WBC 'Diamond' Belt.

It's because the boxing world is awaiting for the Fury vs Wilder rematch. That's why there's no media attention on this fight. Besides, with Garcia coming off from a lost to Errol Spence and then Jessie Vargas somewhat lost in the 147 lbs division, it's really hard to promote this fight.

So for me, this two are just B-side boxers to the growing list of top welterweights around.

Yes, it was just a bad schedule, I guess. And it seems there's no animosity or drama between the two that's why boxing fans are not into it. We all know that most of the times we wanted to see fight that has some controversy between the two.

And we haven't heard anything leading up to the promotions of the fights. Although we can argue that the supporting bouts has some good fighters in it, not enough to generate buzz, in my opinion.

There's really no hype it is being eclipse by the Wilder and Fury match, everybody is tuned on this fight, because the first fight was excited and there's unfinished between the two, maybe after this fight and if no big fights coming up, medias will cover and hype this fight, but definitely this will have a hype in Mexico.

Mikey Garcia: Vargas Will Be Coming For a KO Win - Me Too!

Four division world champion Mikey Garcia is expecting a real war, when he steps in the ring against two-division world champion Jessie Vargas.

The contest takes place on Saturday night, as the headline bout of a Matchroom card in Frisco, Texas. DAZN will be streaming the event.

Garcia is fighting for the first time since March 2019, when moved up by two weight divisions to the welterweight ranks and suffered a lopsided decision loss to IBF world champion Errol Spence.

And since the Wilder vs Fury rematch is over, I think it's about time to shift our attention to this fight. I didn't generate enough buzz, but for sure this is one good fight that boxing fans shouldn't missed.

My prediction, this fight will be a split or a majority decision for Jessie Vargas.

Vargas showed a tremendous performance. He was the one who dictated the early rounds. His jabs to the body were also doing well. He appeared to be very comfortable and ahead in points until he was knocked down by Mikey in the 5th round. That was the start of Mikey's momentum. I guess the thing that made everything different between the two fighters is that Mikey has the more powerful punch. While Vargas scored one point after another, he didn't really hurt Mikey to the point of sealing his edge over him. It was Mikey who could turn everything around with a very strong right hand. And that finally happened in the 5th round.

But without that single 10-8 score in the 5th round, the result could have been a majority decision. Nevertheless, the fight was a great one overall. Both fighters showed their best. On the other hand, Chocolatito KOed the previously undefeated Yafai in the main supporting bout. Another great battle.

Anyway, there seems to be a little interest over this match. The thread is silent.

Right, but he has a puncher chance here because Mikey is not a natural welterweight. Just show that Vargas is not as elite as others may have thought he would be.

For Mikey Garcia, the road to a Pacquiao fight is to defeat Vargas first and he did his homework very well. For Manny, this is a very good fight for him as Mikey is less dangerous than Spence and both fighters is more or less even in terms of size. I think Manny have the edge here but the probability of Mikey defeating an old Pacman is very high.

There are talks that Manny's camp is talking already on the camp of Mikey and that the fight will be held in Saudi, just could not find the link of that article now.

Mikey Garcia had only one loss so I guess he is a good opponent for money but I would not think that he is a better fight than Thurman.
Therefore if Manny fight him and Manny wins, Manny would benefit since he can still have more fights and will still hold the belt.

If the fight push through, it will benefit both fighters and the boxing industry, because Garcia is on on his highest level and Pacquiao still has it,
I'm not saying that Thurman is a weak fighter but we have fighters in Garcia and Pacquiao that people wants to see, so I hope the fight will push through the ball is on Pacquiao's camp now.
