I am in luck to day The first two topics I opened in this board is about this titan coin. They are kind of making some good post but it is clear that the end game was to shill the coin. Here, take a look at the two posts I was talking about Topic 1So, I was looking for some altcoins to invest in and many experts here advised me to do my research before investing in any new coin. In fact, most people to whom I asked advice in this regard told me to thoroughly research a new coin before investing in it. Fair enough. So, now my question is how exactly I do that.
I was reading online and found a few blogs that talk about the factors to consider while evaluating a new cryptocurrency or project. Factors that include research on Crypto coin based on a number of things such as the purpose, use of blockchain, coin economics, usage, team, etc. Is there anything else that I should be looking for or are these the only factors to consider? I challenge you to research these coins according to your factors: Tezos (XTZ) (Check on coinmarketcap) ThoreCoin (THR) (Check on coinmarketcap) Titan Coin (TTN) (Check on coinmarketcap) Binance Coin (BNB) (Check on coinmarketcap) Bytom (BTM) (Check on coinmarketcap) Let's see who have the best and relevant researching skills in the crypto market.
Comment of OP on the same topicI have been reading on multiple comunities and gathering data about the top trending coins for investment. So far, what most people have suggested is that I should invest only in top cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin and ETH, because one cannot simply trust the new coins. I agree on that part. But my concern is the high price volatility of these coins. I want to invest in short term and can't afford to take risk with such highly unstable coins.
Many experts have also advised me to do my research before investing in a new coin. I did that and found out about one or two coins which seem really genuine and worth my time and money. For instance, Titan Coin presents a good enough case in the form of an altcoin which works similar to bitcoin.
I also checked announcement thread of titan projects on bitcointalk, according to which they are regularly launching apps, exchange is also coming. What I mean by that is they are progressing in development part and other forums and media are also talking good future about the project.
What is your take on this?
Topic 2Well, I am thinking about investing in Titan coin. Yeah, I researched on this coin a lot and now the project is delivering the apps, exchanges, offers as they promised earlier.
My current portfolio includes
6K$ = BNB 4K$ = EOS 10K$ = ETH 5K$ = BTC
Total: $25k
Now, I would like to include the titan coin in my portfolio: $5K
6k$ = BNB 4k$ = EOS 5k$ = TTN 5k$ = ETH 5K$ = BTC
My strategy is to sell 50% eth coins and invest in TTN Coin. What’s your suggestions experts? I would like to know your honest review and suggestion on my decision.
Thanks in Advance.
I know they are not the very first project to do this method and many more will do the same in the future. If they can freely send an army of shill accounts, I think it's just fair for us to call them out right?

This is the second thread I am going to open that will promote Titan coin, well done shilling it. I for one I have not heard abut it before until now and this is a warning to people only a stupid person would be doing thesame thing and expect different result. If you think the method of 2017 is going to work in 2020, you are a late comer

Before there are just lot of shilling things, not only on altcoins but what I saw in some different sections of the forum are websites, some are article websites or trading websites. I think that person is kindly wise, as I read those quoted posts from him/her, no more directly shilling in that shit titan coin, like he included some cryptocurrency, like Bitcoin, so kindly safe move. But still, just what OP found, he really into shilling titan coin.

I will not fall into shilling, although I have done shilling a lot of coins in the past, it's very unwise to just believe just buy the coin because it is being shilled, investors should be wiser than this, he should always look on the potential of the project and if it does bring something to the table and not just become someone post positively about the coin, investors should be wiser now.

Not sure if the person is really associated with the project or is a investor trying to shill but everytime people try to shill or even introduce the coin as such, being a normal user who came across a project and asking for suggestions or comparing it with popular coins, it gets a negative impression for me. Even if a coin is advanced by technology, the usability depends on the trust by community.

The coin will present itself, even if there are hundreds of people shilling that coin if the investor that is worth his salt, he can differentiate if the coin really has a potential, shilling has a bad reputation, but if you are a believer of a coin you can shill it and it's like helping a guy who wants to find a good coin to invest, than asking or posting that will look like a spam.

Marketers will surely do their job in order to reach their target that were provided by the project owner but if they are spreading too much spam already then they should be banned by the forum administrators as shilling is good but too much will cause a spam in the forum which is not good. They shill too much the coin, upon checking it last day they rank at 999 and now they luckily rank at 926 in coinmarketcap so good for the marketing team but they should be careful for their next move in the forum if they don't like to be banned by the forum moderators.

The question is, can we really stop people from shilling, I think it's hard to do that as it's not against the rules (correct me if I am wrong). What we just need is to self educate so we will not easily fall for this, there's a lot of ways to advertise a coin and that maybe includes shilling.

Well, it's obvious what he is doing. And there is really nothing that you can do about it.
Just ignore the topics. It's clear that he is a shill of Titancoin or whatnot and posting in such a way that renders the coin he is shilling to be a worthwhile investment when it's probably just another clone token. We've seen this with projcets like EOSbet as well, where they would go about creating gambling discussion and off topic threads that mention their URL.
It could honestly be a guerilla marketing technique, but one that is not necessarily in line with forum regulations. So avoid these coins.

Every coin that shilling without innovation in it, will only lead to regret. I think the members here are smart and not easily consumed by it. Circumstances 2018-2019 have given a lesson for us to be careful about putting money, especially on coins that are only concerned with price. Due to the fact that coins that are only concerned with price will soon die or be left behind by dev or their own community.

This is 'implicit' promoting coin to the crypto community. He is good enough to do this promotion He put the coin in good coin list, to make perspective that the coin is one of good coin.
But I'm sure that people here is smart enough for choosing coin. They wont fall with shitcoin in market no matter how much it is.

If you are shilling for a scam, then it is obviously against the rules. I am not doing a good digging as far as this Titan Coin is concerned but if the coin is not a scam, then shilling for it is all right for as long as it does not go as far as it is annoying and off topic. Shilling is just another term for promoting or marketing, although it has a little bit dirty connotation. Education and careful research are always important. At the end of the day, thousands of us here are promoting whatever projects or coins. We are all paid for doing so just like the shills are. But we should never take everything hook, line, and sinker just because many are shilling for it.

In investing, it is necessary to study the coin carefully and always consider many times before making an investment decision because the current bear market is still taking place so the opportunity to make a profit is still very low. I think anyone who gets into this situation will feel very scared because everything is uncertain. I have encountered many of these cases in the past and have lost a lot of money since joining.

In fact I suspect the latter is more unreasonable sacrifice ethereum for titan ,however we as traders will not sacrifice the best altcoin for things that are uncertain in the future ,taking a lot of risks is also not good to play a game while the suspect did it intentionally

We can't and never be able to stop it as long as they are not breaking the rules in the forum. A few warnings for those alt accounts that are shilling for the project is enough and if they are still doing it and just unwatched their thread and that's more than enough to stop them. Zero result on people watched their thread and they will not do that again.

Shilling is just another term for promoting or marketing, although it has a little bit dirty connotation. I think it still depends on the quality of the post before it can be considered as violation of the forum rules. If the the two shill accounts mentioned in the OP merely posted links of the titan website and no other contribution, it will be deleted for being low value. If they posted some referral link or phishing site, that's also a violation. "Scam coin" is also subjective here. If you visit the scam accusation board, you can see plenty of ponzi schemes and projects with fake team or plagiarized whitepaper being flagged/tagged by the community but their ANNS aren't being deleted by mods.
In fact I suspect the latter is more unreasonable sacrifice ethereum for titan ~
That user was lying, it's an obvious shill. Read my reply there https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5215726.msg53549395#msg53549395

Even though investors are smarter, that doesn't mean we shouldn't advertise a coin, who knows the team from the coin will have started to improve their work so that their projects can be more useful and famous in the future.

I noticed that too. It likely shilling. They are quite obvious, and the whole thing is craftily put together. I guess it's working for them otherwise they would have stopped it long ago. They do that mostly with newbies and junior accounts
