Innosilicon has put their Ethereum ASIC miner into largescale production, and simply put.. this spells DOOM for GPU mining. Ethereum ASIC miners will continue to massively reduce GPU mining profitability. Subscribe to VoskCoin - http://voskco.in/Sub

The news of the Bitmain Antminer E3 Ethereum ETH ASIC miner really shook the crypto mining world for a while, however, the miner was not wildly beyond the power and efficiency of a tuned GPU mining rig. However, the Innosilicon A10 Ethmaster Ethereum ASIC miner is MUCH MORE POWERFUL AND EFFICIENT than Ethereum GPU mining rigs. The Inno A10 ETH miner is seriously a GPU mining killer, this ASIC miner is bad news for mining profitability as this will force hundreds of thousands of GPUs off of Ethereum mining onto other coins and thus saturating the gpu mining market even further. But anyway, let's review the Innosilicon A10 Ethereum ASIC miner, and the mining profitability of mining Ethereum in 2020! PS don't forget about Ethereum moving to Proof Of Stake over Proof Of Work PoS to PoW sometime between 2020 and 2030 lol

$3,000 for miner that makes $4 a day and might be obsolete before the end of the year and a 750 day ROI, lol.  Its been out for a while, no one is stupid enough to buy them.

As always bitmain started selling their trash to idiots when is convenient and wise to, they have been with these miners for a long time, truth is, they are just renaming them from being g3 and maybe even the g4 will also be sold cause of algo change, do not be surprised if bitmain start selling an eth asic miner 10 times more powerful than the a10/g3 which real codename is g4 and they have been with it for the past 2 years, that is the reason eth price has stagnated, eth devs knew all about it and let it go for the sake of not compromise the project as a whole, the only one who lost money were investors and the same investors can get their money back in a year or so. If was not for those asic miners, eth price would be right now around 800 usd, sad.....

yeah, but @ this rate it doesn't really seem like it'll happen -- its been "ready" for what, a year? and keeps getting pushed back in ETH forks -- to the point they'll say POS is so soon why even bother w/ the algo it has been fine this long ... even though they'll probably move to . a hybrid pow/pos for awhile or ever

honestly its really boring to even think/talk about at this point, idk how any miner could have any faith or interest in ETH at this point

Per Greerso
ProgPoW was proposed March 2018, and 100% ready by the end of 2018 and reference the January 2019 ETH dev call.. so basically progpow was ready in 2018, could have been implemented @ any point in 2019 and now its 2020 -- if you had held your breath, you would have surely died by now lol

Current situation is that after passing audits it is eligible for inclusion again and the next fork is Berlin, currently scheduled June 2020.

Why didn't they just include it in the past 2 ETH forks which all occured after the audit results came out? If they weren't serious about including it because POS is soon then why waste money paying for the audits. If I understand they had to pay 2 people, one for the software audit and another for the hardware audit.

The ProgPOW algo is currently working on certain coins, so I don't think it would take too long for their long list of devs to include it into the next fork. Basically I am storing my RX series GPUs in the off chance that maybe we will get back those $1/day/GPU profit days however seems that I should just craiglist those GPUs before they become obsolete completely.

4gb gpus will be done for on eth in few months. I wonder if 4gb cards will be obsolete if eth go progpow and/or if dag will be used/relevant with progpow. I believe pos will come before 2022, october 2021 to be exact.

A GPU is an ASIC, a logic chip specialized for display functions.
ProgPoW "emulates display functions" and therefore a GPU happens to be the perfect ASIC for ProgPoW.

Coin distribution IS fairer on commodity hardware and the GPU happens to be just one.
(ASICs not by a long shot)

... and POS? unfair as hell

ProgPoW/POS combination, now that sounds like the holy grail.

Dag file will reach 4gb late December this year, so still nearly a year you can hash with them eth and etc.
Eth mining algorithm don't think ever will be switched, its not that big of a deal. Its not the same as you where mining BTC with gpus and the ASICs where released. The mining efficiency gap is not that big, to make it centralized for one asic miner manufacturer.
This A 10 is well overpriced. Biggest risk you'll have is quality of the miner ,hashing boards start to die after 180 days. They are not as reliable equipment as GPUs.

I won't say  "MUCH MORE POWERFUL AND EFFICIENT than Ethereum GPU mining rigs"

because..

A10 Pro+ Miner (720Mh) @ 1300w

3080 (90mh) x8 720 @ ~1600W or ~2000w system included

not even x2 less powerful and efficient.

Anybody look at the link Vosk link to buy the asic....goes to a site still claiming they will mine ETC....which is UNTRUE.

Then there is the whole..Vosk calling it Bitmain Innosilicon.  Its one or the other...pretty sure it Innosilicon.

Why so many incorrect items?

Actually 95mh a card so 7 x 95 is 665 at about 1700 watts

Vs 720 at about 1300 watts

The real problem is not that it works better the problem is too much hash will simply lower eth coin prices.

ETH could fix it by simply waiting 2 months and let all a10s sell out. Then alter the algorithm to 7gb dag. It would kill off a shit ton of hash .

The chances of that are next to nothing. But you never know. Maybe once the boss of eth would fuck with asic builders heads.
