OMG, BitCoin is spiking !!! What is causing this ???

We can't really know the "cause" of a big increase in price (aside from obvious there are people buying bitcoin) but we can just assume. My assumption was that there were too many long futures and leveraged longs and that means some whales wanted the bitcoin price to go up, that could draw a connection between bitcoin price and its increase.

If whales wants something they usually get it, not all the time but most of the time. Plus there was a try for going down that failed, maybe some people realized we hit the bottom and decided it is not worth trying any further and gave up, maybe we were always bull but the bears kept the selling pressure high but just gave up, when they gave up we started to go up? Like I said we can just assume what happened and not know the exact reason.

I highly doubt about that because there's no reason why they have to move anyway but my thought on this is that it's just the traders who made to move the market price. This could be a sign of another bull trap but it seems that the price is quite stable and there's still a chance to move to break the $9k if it continue to rise.

9k is very close to the 200 day average.   I think price moved alot as we 'broke' the 50 day, it had tried and failed to do as much 3 times previously so that was a running break through that wall that continued past it and upwards I guess.   
  Its not really spiking just a combination of buyers bullish on that push past but also the stop orders on short sellers, these turn into buyers as well hence when a line fails to hold its creating a rush and rapid movement from the reversal.   Traders watch and try to capture these areas where price changes so fast that its profitable justifiable to accelerate risks and deploy leverage.     At some point or time those hot money speculators leave the price and we get some adjustment downwards again, this continual cycle is always in the price some.

There were big news during the bear market but it didn't pushing up the price because of those big news. Now that there is no news about crypto, the price keeps pushing up. 

and that shows how the market runs healthy mate,the Ups and Downs from the news coming out either positives or negatives the important thing is the market continues to move and gives us profit(though sometimes losses)

It didn't make sense but I guess the manipulation you are telling will be acceptable.

it has been here for long time,and we cannot do anything about that because that is the reality of every profiteering there are some manipulation.

There were also users saying this is because of the FOMO for the next halving will happen in few months.

well it is too early for the Next halving to bring this run,but we can see if this stays for the other months come.

If the price goes crazy then suddenly dump then maybe I can conclude that it's a trap but seems price goes stable that's why I think it became normal to see those dump coming up but we should prepare if this is manipulating dump to avoid losses but I still believe we are not seeing the real effect yet since it's so early to tell that away so for me I will do short trades for a while and let see if we can surpass the price and reach the $9k or not.

same as you I also do not see any major events that make the price of bitcoin soared. these two weeks bitcoin has continued to increase. many say that the rise in bitcoin at the beginning of January was the result of the Iran-American conflict. but at this time the conflict between the two countries began to subside but the price of bitcoin continues to increase. from this I can conclude that actually bitcoin doesn't need a reason to go up and down.

I thinks its the lead up to the halving that is making the price increase.  I think there will be FOMO that will take the price to a new high by the middle of the year.

The main reason to help bitcoin grow these days is Halving. Halving will help investor demand become higher because the previous two halving has helped bitcoin greatly increase. And all investors are expecting this time to be the same. This market is heavily influenced by news, so prices are always affected by news and can go up or down depending on good or bad news.

It doesn't seem to go crazy this time because it's more likely becoming stable in $8k price range. Those $7k-ish price are now gone since Bitcoin started to break the $8k resistance. And now I can conclude that it is not a bull trap, I hope this will continue and will soon continue to break another resistance level like the $9k-ish.

I wouldn't be so assured to call the current price stable. If you look closely, Bitcoin has only been in the $8000 range for a week now and even during that time it has fallen below the $7,000  $8,000, without even mentioning that it happened suddenly.

1 week is really too short to define a stable period. Just look today, half of the market is decreasing, if it continues we could go again below the $8k line at the end of the week.

And personally I don't buy 'Iran vs USA' or 'halving is coming' stories

Big whales, due to their volume of Bitcoin, have always manipulated the market and speculators in the cryptocurrency market have always helped them in this.  I think that the situation with the conflict between Iran and the USA will ultimately affect the state of the cryptocurrency market.  Although it would be possible to imagine a situation where Big business from the conflict sector is trying to Save their funds and invest them in cryptocurrencies, In order to avoid control by the United States And thereby get away from problems in Iran.  but I believe that such a situation can only happen if a full-scale war begins.

When there is a lot of demand for prices, there will definitely be a significant price surge. When demand is low you can buy up.
Take advantage of that momentum to take a reasonable profit, for now the price still shows a bullish pattern. So the buying option might still be possible before ATH.

in my opinion there are two things that might cause the price of bitcoin to increase. the first possible rise is that this is the manipulation of the popes. the second maybe this increase is the impact of bitcoin which will be reduced by half in May. with bitcoin reduced by half will attract investors to buy more bitcoin. so the demand for bitcoin increases.

For people who are just new to this market would normally have these kind of reactions.When prices do move on high volatility rate and intensity they would tend to panic and question out on what is happening.

They are tying up anything when btc spikes but actually these are just normal day here on crypto.News can be also a big factor on prices but not all the times where these sentiments are effective because
even on random times and days where theres no news, the price do still behave this way.

With the news of war dying down and nothing major going on, I feel like this bull had nothing to do with the mainstream news, I mean looking at it now it is at a healthy level even tho nothing is going on in the world right now.

I wouldn't be shocked if we get to learn that there was absolutely nothing related for the spike and it was just a due time increase that people started to buy at the same time triggering even more and more and more people buying, that sounds as reasonable as all the other theories put forward. Of course, there has to be some sort of logical explanation why people said "enough" in the past 10 days instead of any time previously or in the future, but what happened has happened and questioning why will not change the price in the end.
