i read the report.
below a detailed list.
I agree with this skill need to be in the pocket, maybe not at the first position.
the first book you "must-read" is this great O'Reilly book, already at the second edition:
"Mastering bitcoin".
It give you a great introduction to the blockchain and gives you some code examples.

Blockchain isn't skill, blockchain is technology and skills are following: Public Speaking, Communication, Writing, Creative thinking and etc. Being a blockchain developer is really top profession as for now because lately there was huge demand on implementing of blockchain technologies. There were a lot of news on websites like: Newborn registry in Brasil via blockchain technologies, Some contracts with Bitfury regarding to BC integration, HSBC's huge interest in BC technologies, there are even more things. So demand on integration of blockchain technologies skyrockets daily while blockchain developers remain few, this is huge opportunity for people who are in information technologies to move on it and develop further.

I think he wanna refer to skills related to blockchain like blockchain development etc. we have some debate going on about future of crypto but blockchain is readily accepted and adopted by governments and other big companies. There is no doubt that there will huge demand of professionals that have skills in blockchain.

I agree with the article
You guys complaining about blockchain is not a skill, it´s obvious, but you understand that the article want to say about a person able to  work with blockchain, stop looking for little things

In my country it's rare to find someone who knows how to deal with blockchain, I can imagine in a few years the market will be full of great people working with it, but for today it's scarce

This surprises me. The only stuff that makes money in 'blockchain' are exchanges and conning VC investors into throwing money at any old shite. I would've expected it to have gone quiet for now at least.

If IT burns through qualifications at a furious pace then 'blockchain' has only just gotten started. What'll be put into actual use in a few years will likely bear zero resemblance to what they're playing with now.

The only area of 'blockchain' I'd be specialising in at present is bankruptcies.

It will surely be the most preferred job in 2020, because most of the companies are seeking for blockchain companies that could develop blockchain technology for them, so the idea is, why shouldn't they hire some who knows how to create it for their company? In such a case that they have more control over the salary of the employees, and to have more control over the project, so basically, having the knowledge about building blockchain applications will definitely make us profitable plus, with the strong statement of LinkedIn.

Blockchain technology is the next big step for the high tech world (after cloud computing and IoT).
I think that this is going to be the tech revolution "chain"-cloud computing>internet of things(IoT)>blcokchain technology>Quantum computing>Artificial intelligence(AI).

Bloclchain has the power to disrupt many sectors and industries. In most of the industries, the bloclchain powered products are there but still in testing phase. Therefore, for r&d companies need labour force with bloclchain knowledge.
Bloclchain is an emerging technology which solves the very important issue of today's world which is data privacy. So, the important and relevance is natural to go up.

Blcokchain technology created a new industry to explore for all to explore. If its according to linkedin, they must mean skills related to blockchain. Most of the scammers are creating a lot of linkedin profile to put on the ICO website making blockchain the new skills since linkedin will classify it a skill when its added on the user's skills. Anyone from other industry can add "blockchain". Been in linkedin trying to market my employer too so I kept seeing new blockchain related groups in linkedin a s well.

of course blockchain is hard skill but if you know programing, its more difficult to create AI than create our own blockchain.

today the source code and learning platform of blockchain is very easy to acces and we can forking from other people too.

You are right to doubt this report, I feel like it might be quite misleading, like why they say that it's the most popular skill of 2020 and compare it with 2019 if this year only just started? Maybe what they see is some short-term spike on popularity, perhaps caused by the recent pump across the crypto market, and this hype will disappear quite soon.

Just to contextualize better the terms of the survey, Linkedin considers a Soft Skill and Hard Skill as:
Quote
Hard skills concern an employee’s ability to do a specific task, and soft skills are more about the way they do them — how they adapt, collaborate, solve problems, and make decisions.
Hard skills include specialized knowledge and technical abilities, such as software development, tax accounting, or patent law expertise. They’re often easier to define and measure than soft skills.
Often an infographic without context seems out of line, and terminology in this case is subject to debate (until we bring fort the intended supporting definition).

What’s important to note is the following:
Quote
Methodology: The most in-demand skills were determined by looking at skills that are in high demand relative to their supply. Demand is measured by identifying the skills listed on the LinkedIn profiles of people who are getting hired at the highest rates. Only cities with 100,000 LinkedIn members were included in this evaluation.
As I interpret it, the output is not based solely on the number of demands for a given skill, but rather in contrast to the number of supplies. If that is so, a specific skill with 100k demand and 100k supply would yield a ratio of 0, and a skill with 10k demand and 2k supply will have a ratio of 5. The latter, despite having less demand in absolute terms, has more demand in relative terms (demand over supply).

I have a friend that says AI is basically nested ifs and being blockchain developer I assume will have if not less is equal with the difficulty of programming an AI. Currently blockchain course is still lacking after all and it's being most desirable skill simply because the overwhelming demand meanwhile the amount of developers is still too low. But, i'm pretty sure that this hype will be gone very soon and blockchain developer being most desirable skill will be just like any ordinary programmer out there, first in demand then the market bloated with freshgrad programmers like crazy.

Blockchain is the biggest innovation of the time. Due to its revolutionary and growing nature, many people are getting attracted to it. In this way if we look at the skills of people who are in any way connected to blockchain in this crypto market they are very important. In near future, with the further growth of blockchain technology people having the skills in this technology will be more valued.

This is not surprising. The industry is developing, and more and more specialists are needed.
