Forgive me if this is not an appropriate post, but in my research into this particular issue of The New Yorker I found several auctions for copies of it on this site, so I thought I'd give the fine folks here the heads-up. I am currently selling a copy of The New Yorker October 10, 2011 issue on eBay. This issue contains an early article on Bitcoin and is highly collectible. I have placed the starting bid at 225 USD, and there is a shipping cost of 8 USD to the auction's winner. The auction is scheduled to end on Saturday, January 25, 2020 at 9:09 PM (EST).

Admittedly I know little about Bitcoin and I don't trade in it myself, but I'm of the opinion that things of this nature and worth are better off in the hands of someone who appreciates them for what they are, hence my posting on a site for a niche to which I do not belong. I will link the eBay listing below.

Thank you for reading.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/202888097806

UPDATE: Because I still don’t have any bids yet I’ve lowered the starting bid to 215 USD.

UPDATE #2: Time ran out with 0 bids, so I've relisted with a starting price of 180 USD. I am also accepting offers, FYI. The link above has been updated. The new auction ends Tuesday, February 2, 2020 at 9:09 PM (EST).

This magazine is absolutely a BTC collectable but it isn’t exactly rare... yet! There was a copy sold back a few months ago for $8 on Ebay. That seller obviously didn’t understand the value of it to someone like me, but the fact that they’re floating around is a reason to hang onto it for a while.

Also, It’s good that you didn’t remove the address label, but the sharpie markings do hurt the overall condition IMO. I recommend keeping it safe and hodling onto it for a few more years and trying again. if you don’t want to wait, I’m afraid you’ll have to lower the starting bid significantly.

nice magazine. May be you can auction it here. If it worth a lots of money people will pay for it. Another option you can hold this magazine for another 5 years. If you do decide to auction it here please take picture of the magazine and write your username and today date and the pen right next to the magazine

I think, who all are here on the forum already know the importance of this magazine and most of the collectors who collects magazine have this one. I don’t think there is need to share anything that people don’t know about this magazine.

So, to clarify, you’re saying that just because I wasn’t a member of this website means that I don’t know anything about Bitcoin or this magazine?

I honestly don’t understand what you’re getting at and why you’re busting my balls for sharing my opinion on a public forum. Don’t worry, Sr. Member! before I post anything, I’ll be sure to clear it with you first.

You prob do and I have no doubt about it. It's just odd, a newbie account comes just to post his ebay listing here and another newbie account comes and posting specifically on that same topic. Maybe it's just a coincidence maybe not, we would never know...

BTW - Welcome to the forum..  Grin Grin

You’re definitely overthinking this one, haha! I assure you that it’s coincidental.

Thank you for the welcome.

I accept that the Sharpie diminishes the value, but the magazine itself is still in great condition so I don't think it lowers it significantly. I just don't want my name and address still on it when I sell it.
