Can Ethereum reach the 1400$ mark this year?

Seems it will not be happen. As you can see almost all coins are bleeding right now and most of coin have fallen at least 5% since few days ago. If bitcoin hit $50k, people are start or going like crazy to dump the market with their bitcoins

Ethereum has been working on this since early 2016 and even late 2015 if you consider the conception phase as well, it is going to take some time and we should be all a bit calm about it. The closes estimate puts it in 2021 so there is at least a year to go for the proof of stake ethereum but even with that in mind I see it like late 2021 or even 2022 for something like that to happen.

We are talking about a whole billions of dollars worth of money to change the system how it is printed from mined to staked so I am pretty sure they are allowed to take their time just in case they don't mess up anything. The amount of profit we would all make when it goes to proof of stake or the money we will be making WITH proof of stake all could be gone if they mess up one thing.

   I agree with you, and with others who thinks that Ethereum will rise to $1400, but not this year, maybe next one. It's the thing,
we need to be patient and wait for it, maybe next year that will happen, but if not we need to be ready to wait longer if we
have too.

I don't think we should rely on the baseless judgments and personal feelings to predict eth's value in the distant future, although ethereum has bright spots that can boost its value but whether these bright spots will work effectively in the next time or not, it's still not clear yet. Besides, this market only needs a short time to make big changes, the gap to the next year is too far, so many unknowns in there, if we really hope for ethereum, we should give fair value values, ethereum will need to go from low to high, cannot be rushed

This is my stand, if bitcoin will reach a new ATH this year, I would say that $1400 will easily be achieve.
ETH now is very undervalued, it was only down due to the scam ICOs but as a platform, it should not be price lower now since it has a great adoption and there are also a lot of good projects which adopted in ETH.

time will tell and I am confident that ETH has been developed, their team is very hard working.

We are not sure for that right now if they upgrade to etherium 2.0. As of now it was hard for etherium to rise the price and still able to $200 always so it will take a years for etherium to reach that price you mention. On this year Ill think it should need to do right now are buy more etherium and wait for the etherium go into a high price.

   Everything comes from faith! Gheka we agree that Ethereum needs a lot of improvements, but with development that will happen.
We can say that Ethereum is becoming better and faster with time. I agree with you that next year is too far in crypto-currencies.
Here changes happens fast, but that can go in positive direction, not just negative. I believe in Ethereum in the long-term.

That is the dilemma here with everyone as well. Ethereum needs to improve a lot to become 1400 dollars however ethereum is on the way to improve as well. So the thing here is the question of "Will they really improve as much as they need to improve with the next improvement" That is a weird question to ask but ethereum has failed before when they wanted to develop better so it is always a valid question to ask.

I personally think 2020 will not be huge for ethereum and will be dormant however 2021 will be an amazing year for it. By 2021 I think price will peak around 1.5k and go even higher after everything is said and done. We still have almost 1-1.5 years ahead so the development will probably reach there as well.

It would be ideal or smart enough if that 2.0 would really be released on a bull market rather than on bearish one.It would really be dragged to the hype and would really have the possibility on breaking ATH's
$1400 is achievable but if bitcoins price would tend to break its ATH too or even more.For now lets wait for things to happen and if we can risk up to accumulate ETH as of now then its our choice but
pretty much sure that this one will make some noise when the market tends to rise up again but for now lets wait for some good catalyst that will trigger out some good stuff.

I certainly doubt such price for etheruem this year and won't put my money on it. This is because after the etheruem ATH, it has not been doing fine. If you compare the growth of bitcoin after the ATH, bitcoin has done better compared to etheruem. Bitcoin for instance can possibly hit the ATH again but I don't think so for etheruem.

For now I don't think that it is possible but may things would change and we are expecting the BTC halving to create a bull run for the crypto market.
So we couldn't be so sure since we are talking about the price in terms of Dollar so when the price of BTC goes up so does the ETH so we can't be so sure about it right now.

What makes you think that Ethereum is weak now? I think if the price of $ 1,400 they can reach it but not this year. More people waited after Ethereum 2.0 was released, they were sure the price of ETH would increase dramatically after that.

I think if ETH is weak then ETH won't be able to hold second coinmarketcap, and I also don't know the reason you say that. Is your reason perhaps because the ICO hype has ended? I see there are still many erc20 tokens that have been launched by several projects, although not as many as in previous years.

Did I read "really doom"? Come on, man. How did you say doom when I am looking at a $9,000 plus price of Bitcoin. Which chart are you looking at right now? I am looking at charts with top coins such as Bitcoin and Ethereum gaining prices.

Guess what? It's been a month and the price is not even moving!(although it was before). I would say the price increment because the hype of upcoming halving, other than that   they are just following the trend and sell it after they find it's not profitable now. It would be difficult to Ethereum to actually reach $1.4k by looking its chart.
