I'm taking your advice

Quote
It is good practice to not reveal your wallet's private keys, regardless of the derivation scheme. Consider the wallet compromised if you did, and move the funds out.

and I'm moving my funds out from the old wallet into a new one.

So far I have moved some (non all) UTXO's from the old wallet to 3 addresses in the new wallet (with 3 different transactions)

There is a strange thing:

New Wallet: I clik on "Wallet Properties" and I get the correct balance but:

Used Addresses :
P2PKH : None
P2SH-P2PK : None
P2SH-P2WPKH : None

Change Addresses:
P2PKH : None
P2SH-P2PK : None
P2SH-P2WPKH : None

Unused Addresses:
P2PKH :
Address   Tx Count   Balance
1...            0              0.00
1....           0              x.xx
1.....          0              y.yy
1....           0              z.zzz
1....           0              0.00
1....           0              0.00
1....           0              0.00
.....        .....        ......
P2SH-P2PK : None
P2SH-P2WPKH : None

Any idea?

I'm using 0.96.5 on Ubuntu. The wallet is 'watching only'.

EDIT:

In the same window I see:

Version: 1.35
Addresses Used: 3
Security: Offline
Belongs to: You own this wallet

So your problem from your watch-only wallet is that your 3 addresses showing no TX count?

The status of these 3 wallets(watch-only wallets) is offline so you might need to sync it first and it must be connected to the internet so that it will show the latest data of your watch-only wallet.

Did you make the watch-only wallet on the same PC where your offline wallet is installed?

Yes, I made a new wallet and a watch-only copy. Then I deleted the new wallet (after a paper backup). Same PC.

Armory is online, connected with Bitcoin Core 0.19.0.1.

It is connected, the watch-only wallet shows me when an address receives some bitcoin, and the balance is ok. But the addresses are marked as "unused".

"Security offline" means that this is a watch-only wallet, and because the private keys are stored offline the security is like a offline/cold wallet.

~snip~

It seems a compatibility issue/bug I tried to search on Google and found that you will need to use the old version of Armory wallet and Bitcoin core and sync both of them.

Much better read the whole post from here https://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/2zq9s6/need_help_with_armory/ then continue to read until you found the suggested solution under that thread.

Ow, it's a well-known issue of armory wallet that the TX is showing up then disappeared in a short period of time.
Just found another article from here https://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/1w6neu/missing_bitcoin_and_transactions_in_armory_wallet/

Thank you for your answer.

I use the new version of Armory wallet. I didn't touch anything, probably there is some little bug.

When I restart the wallet, it's all ok. The 3 addresses are marked as "used".

But if I press

Receive Bitcoins -> Select Wallet -> Copy to clipboard -> Done

and I come back to Wallet Properties, then the 3 addresses are marked now again as "unused".

EDIT:

I'm using 2 wallets, the old wallet and the new one.

With the old wallet (restored from a paper backup, with all private keys and encrypted ) it's all ok, and I can't reproduce the bug.

But with the new wallet there is this issue.

Can you post the logs for the online instance of Armory?

Unfortunately there is nothing of note in the log. What you are experiencing is a bug, the tx counts shouldn't be reset after generating an address. There is little point in chasing down this bug, I'm in the process of rewriting this section of code for the next version.

I confirm it is a bug.

I did another test with a watching-only copy of the old wallet, same issue. Tx counts reset to 0.

This bug concerns watching-only wallets, not the wallets with the private keys.

Then I suppose the problem is in the C++ code (watching only wallet --> C++ , normal wallet  --> python ?)

What is the difference from

Security: Watching-only

and

Security: Offline ?

Most likely the state is lost when the address objects on the cpp side are updated to reflect the new entries.

They are both watching only wallets, but "offline" ones are flagged as yours. The assumption here is that since you have gone out of your way to flag this WO wallet as yours, you have access to the private keys on an offline machine.
