Today, you won't have any impact because almost everyone knows Bitcoin already. Their interest may have been already answered, and if they want to use it, they would be utilizing it or maybe supporting it. A lot of fee? it doesn't cover a lot of fee and usual transfers are only costing few centavos so I don't think it's really expensive on both sides of buyer and seller.

It's like a chicken and egg problem, there's a perception of low demand because it's hard to spend it. Most people aren't going to drive for half an hour and perhaps pay suboptimal prices just to promote Bitcoin, it's just way too burdensome, but if they had such stores nearby, they would be more likely to shop there.

Honestly, I don't think anyone would care unless it would be something really cool you bought. And judging by the name of the thread, I thought you'd at least show us something you bought with Bitcoin. I don't recall buying anything with it, apart from fiat, unfortunately. The options are limited, the places where I regularly spend money don't allow any payment except local fiat, and even though I know some places in my city that accept Bitcoin, I don't want to spend it on something useless just for the sake of buying something with it.

You reminded me of one of my presentations when I was in college, I talked about cryptocurrency and bitcoin. I tried to advertise to them about its benefits but the results were not what I imagined. Most people say that it looks like a scam and how to make a profit with it, they have a very bad impression on bitcoin and this whole market. The reason for that is because people still lack the knowledge about it and interest about how it was used when having transactions through online. I would disagree with your statement because to hear about BTC and to know something specific about it is a big difference. If there is any truth in research that shows that less than 1% of the world's population owns/trades with crypto, we are still far from saying that most are familiar what is actually BTC.

I personally bought a lot of things with BTC (TVs, smartphones, various gadgets), but I don't think it helped others to become aware of BTC. The only thing that might interest them in this particular case is the fact that they can buy BTC at a lower price, and then profit by buying something when the BTC price goes up. I can say to someone that I buy my new OLED tv, a state-of-the-art smartphone or something like that for $50 worth of BTC which I bought back in 2015, but 2 years later value of that money is increased x100. What I cannot tell them is whether the past will be repeated, everyone should take the risk on their own.

It's depends on how they see Bitcoin. Seriously it's harder to convince people to use Bitcoin as currency rather than embrace them to have Bitcoin (IMO). Mostly expect high price rather than the utility itself, so they think Bitcoin is a commodity not currency (although bitcoin can also be considered a commodity). The other problem also come from the regulations, the government say no to Bitcoin as payment.

As long as there is a merchant who will accept Bitcoin as payment it's quite easy to buy through online. But sometimes those merchant/stores stopped accepting Bitcoin due to the high miners/transaction fee. It's hard to run a business when there's something like a tax that is above the average cost.

If I want to buy the items I want, I first convert BTC to Fiat and then use it to trade.
Introducing bitcoin by buying items using bitcoin might be a great way to introduce and make ordinary people aware that bitcoin is valuable. My mother watched news and when he heard anything about Bitcoin, he immediately tells me. She also talked about it with other people and I am shocked since most of then do not use Bitcoin but call it as illegal or a scam. I don't know but when my mother told me that, she got worried. Yeah the problem is there are only a few shops that accept payments with bitcoin, maybe in some countries there are already stores that you mean but some of them don't exist like in my country. Maybe it's possible if I buy it at a store abroad, but I very rarely shop abroad when it's cheaper in the country. People here buy much stuff in the online store, but they still use local currency to pay. The online store is not yet integrated its payment system using crypto, but I think if crypto becomes popular, the online store will use crypto.

I literally disagree with you in all the ways. Firstly,  Bitcoin has a positive impact in many domains even  online shops, so most of people are turning to Bitcoin as a solution to avoid  the high value of fees in FIAT.

That’s not really necessary. When I talk to people about cryptocurrency almost everyone already knows about it and telling them that you purchased with Bitcoin is not going to make them interested in it. Those that even developed interest in Bitcoin didn’t do so because they heard that they can use it to purchase from stores, they only decided to buy Bitcoin because they saw the possibility of making profit from it.

I would disagree with your statement because to hear about BTC and to know something specific about it is a big difference. If there is any truth in research that shows that less than 1% of the world's population owns/trades with crypto, we are still far from saying that most are familiar what is actually BTC.

Maybe it's quite different from what I intended to say, but most of the people are quite skeptical about what BTC can do, and just hearing about them with negative comments are having an impact.
