From some of the members' suggestions above, in my opinion it's very precise and the fees used by bitcoin are now very normal and the same for everyone. But if you want to send bitcoin at a lower cost again then you have to sacrifice your patience by waiting longer.

I would like to get a wallet on my computer and be able to send BTC with small fees.
What is the best approach to this?
Electrum is the only bitcoin wallet so far that has smaller fees compared to other wallets. With Electrum, you can send a bitcoin worth $1 and pay a transaction fee worth 0.5 cent. You can install electrum both on your pc and phone. Personally, electrum is the only wallet i have used which has the lowest transaction fees.

Get Electrum. Go to https://electrum.org/#download and download it. Verify the application file before installing it, this will ensure that hat you are going to install real Electrum client. Tutorial:https://bitcoinelectrum.com/how-to-verify-your-electrum-download/ You said he should verify the application to ensure he's going to install the real application file, I thought downloading through the website is already a safe means. How does one verify this again? Thanks. Segwit wallets are just the best way to go for cheap fees, but not all wallets are genuine.

A low bitcoin fee means you will wait longer for the transaction to be confirmed. So I think you don't need to take those measures, and today bitcoin's fee is many times lower than it used to be. It only takes $ 0.1-0.2 per transaction and I think it is reasonable for us to use the best.

So far the fees sent by most wallets nowadays are really low compared to how it was 2 years ago. It's much more cheaper to carry put transactions through bitcoin now. But electrum is one of those wallets that gets the job done for me if I do say so myself. It has lower fees compared to most bitcoin wallets on the market. Might wanna give it a shot yourself. Otherwise you would have to sacrifice your time to get free or at the very least low transaction fee.

Electrum is the only bitcoin wallet so far that has smaller fees compared to other wallets. As much as I think Electrum is great, its fee is no smaller than any other wallet which lets you pick your own fees. The wallet you use does not make a different to the fee you pay, unless you are using a wallet which sets the fee on your behalf and doesn't let you change it (in which case you should change wallet). I thought downloading through the website is already a safe means. How does one verify this again? Thanks. Not necessarily. The website or their file host could have been compromised and you could therefore download a fake version, even from the legitimate site. It's unlikely, but possible. The only way to be completely sure you have a non-malicious version is to verify the file. The post you quoted contains a guide on how to do this. A low bitcoin fee means you will wait longer for the transaction to be confirmed. Not necessarily. If the mempool is completely emptying with each block (as it frequently does many times a day at the moment), then a fee of 1 sat/vbyte will confirm just as quickly as a higher fee. In these scenarios all you achieve by paying a higher fee is losing a little bit more money.

As for advice most of those replies, electrum is the best for modifying the transaction fee. You can set even a 1 sat fee but I won't recommend this because I dont know how long you will wait. But setting at least 1k sats would be fine, that is a small amount but if you are not waiting for a long time much better use higher fees. High fees it means faster transactions will be made.

It's always the balance between the urgency and the money spent on fees. Larger the fees faster the transactions and vice versa. Watch some transaction fee monitoring site like https://bitcoinfees.info/ or https://bitcoinfees.earn.com/ to set your transaction fees. And also try to avoid transacting in time with larger transaction congestion.

Electrum wallet is really good. I mean it's one of the best online wallet on the internet, you'll have the full control of your wallet like sending any amount of bitcoin with the fees that you want, as well as you can sign messages there as well as a lot of other stuff. Currently I use it and also I use blockchain wallet sometimes, because I don't want that my all money will be saved on 1 wallet, I feel insecure about that and it's better to save your money in different wallets.

Just choose your wallet from the official site and you can send bitcoin at a very low transaction fees, i usually sent the transaction with a few hundred Satoshi and it gets confirmed in the next one hour or so according to the number of transactions in the queue. Make sure you download the wallets from the real source as there are many fake wallets to scam your coins.

1. Use a wallet where you can control everything. Electrum is a good option. 2. Consolidate your inputs. If you have 0.1 BTC in your wallet and it's made of 100 inputs of 0.001 each, you'll pay more than if you have it "in one piece". 3. Making SegWit transactions (from SegWit address to SegWit address) will also reduce the tx fee. 4. Patience also helps. If you are not in a hurry, even a 1 sat/vbyte transaction should get confirmed, just it may take much longer.
Question: is GreenAddress Wallet still good? I used to use their service back in 2016 but stopped when some problem arose. and I was thinking of using it again since their recent reviews are fine.

The most important thing to send BTC in the cheapest way is just timing. I usually use Enjin wallet. Even if the shortest timing is calculated by default, you can set it yourself if you want. When I don't need to hurry, I send it at the lowest values with satoshi. Sometimes it takes more than 1 day, but it is absolutely confirmed in the end.

Use another currency? If you sending bitcoin and you want it to cost a little that means you are sending small amounts. So if so rather use another currency like eth or doge. When you used over $100 use bitcoin. I don't see how the fee on $100 is an issue. Are you trying to save cents? If you making big transactions you don't care about cents. Sigwit is best and I use mycelium the fees are good.

I think what's mentioned here is a little different. Sometimes Bitcoin transaction fees can reach very high figures. In such cases, ETH / BTC or other trades can be made to trade. Of course, this is a temporary situation and can only be done for urgent transactions.

Unfortunately I've never used it, so I can't tell. However, I recommend you install only wallets from the official list, so you can reduce the chance for "surprises": https://bitcoin.org/en/choose-your-wallet

It is necessary to pay attention to the periods when the price of bitcoin rises rapidly. It may make more sense to ship with Ethereum. Because of the network density, we have to wait a long time for Bitcoin transfer.
