Apologies in advance it it is a OT, but I was wondering if anybody has experienced any downtime of blockexplorer...

I am trying to access their services, but I cannot get any block info back:

Hi,

I tried this page, get the same error message:  "ERROR could not get sync information[object Object]". Probably something wrong between their node's json-rpc api and their frontend?

I have no clue if this happens often, just switch to one of the other block explorers if it bothers you...

blockexplorer is just a private person/company that's running one or more nodes and uses the information provided by querying this node to provide a block explorer. It's not the "default" page, nothing is wrong with the network if this page isn't working properly

It's probably connected with the website, it couldn't sync, just like in the screenshot you gave. I thought maybe something is wrong with the internet but I'm in a different country with good internet, so probably it's not anywhere with the connection. Maybe just like mocacinno said, just try the things on his list.

Is there something specific about why you want blockexplorer.com? Maybe the listed sites above are okay unless there's another functionality that other explorers should have?

What do you exactly mean by 'individual transaction fees' ? I can't also understand the kind of API you are looking for and how you across blockexplorer.com while searching for it .
Most of the exemples mentioned by moccacino doesn't offer an api based on a specific need, but you may be can contact them closely and ask for what you exactly want .
You have to explain for what use you want an/this API in simple words so we can help you .

you should use multiple API options then because all block explorers could go down or have some sort of problem. but having an alternative to fall back to in case one was down is a better option. blockcypher has good APIs that you could use Blockonomics also is good that supports SegWit addresses too.

there is another (safer) option which is to use Electrum servers instead of a block explorer. take a look at the protocol here: https://electrumx.readthedocs.io/en/latest/

to make it simple, lets assume I have one public Wallet address, I want to be able to retrieve:

- Wallet balance
- Wallet transactions (that the sum should make up the balance) and relative transaction fees... (I might be wrong, but it seems that blockexplorer and btc.com provides "overall block fee", therefore how can I "deduct" what I have actually paid for my transactions?)

address 1GB2CgZ9a4yXFaaN2YfmTKuhZbomkpUfbH has three transactions:

1) - 0.03602039
2) + 0.03086609
3) + 0.03602039

I am not sure how much each transaction costed in terms of fee...

the exact fee value is also included on the same page alongside the transaction ID (on its right side).
for example in the address you posted, the first one is like this (i cut the hash to make it smaller):

the first value is the transaction ID.
the second one (1 Satoshis/vByte) is the amount of fee paid per size in virtual bytes.
the third value (0.00000226 BTC) is the exact amount of fee this transaction paid
the forth value (609,868) is the block height that contains this mined transaction
the fifth value (2019-12-26 18:08:40) is date time.
